An innovative business model is the key to raising competitiveness and sustainability of a company in the context of rapid technological development and digitalisation. The model in question has to be bimodal with the company taking a proactive approach to modifcations based on soft management and human capital. Hence, it is an employee who plays the most crucial role in the innovation process in the modern world. Besides that, today’s managerial system must support personnel’s innovative potential and consider their incentives. This, in turn, leads to both higher efciency in total and qualitative multiplicative effect when it comes to company’s competitive environment that quickly and accurately ensures high adaptability to external challenges and crises. The outcome of introducing innovations hinges on how an industry works, which is determined not only by its history but largely by the current state and level of corporate culture. In the course of the innovation process within the company other than optimizations for the economic benefts, decisions on changes in quality matter as well: safety and reliability, comfortable working conditions boosting productivity, higher quality and level of service (internal and external), corporate trainings and human development.

Competition in traditional markets such as grocery stores with modern stores is currently considered unbalanced, causing the marginalization of small traders. This causes the grocery store to decline more and more. One of the reasons is the rapidly growing minimarket in Bali Province. The growing rapidly of minimarkets will certainly threaten the sustainability of the grocery store business in the vicinity. Based on this, the objectives of this study are 1. To analyze the effect of internal factors and external factors on grocery store revenue; 2. To analyze the effect of internal factors, external factors and income of the grocery store on the sustainability of the grocery store business; 3. To analyze the indirect effect of internal factors and external factors on the sustainability of the grocery store business through the income of the grocery store. This research uses descriptive analysis tools and Structural Equation Model (SEM) with PLS (Partial Least Square). The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection used observation methods, structured interviews and in-depth interviews. Respondents in this study were grocery store entrepreneurs in Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, which were taken by quota sampling as many as 120 samples, which were selected by accidental sampling. The result of this research is that the grocery store internal factor variable has a positive and significant effect on the grocery store's income. The grocery store's external factor variable has no effect on the grocery store's income. The variable of the external factor of the grocery store and the variable of the income of the grocery store have a positive and significant effect on the sustainability of the grocery store business. The grocery store internal factor variable has no positive and significant effect on the sustainability of the grocery store business. There is an indirect effect of the grocery store internal factor variable on the sustainability of the grocery store business through the income of the grocery store is significant. There is no indirect effect of the grocery store external factor variable on the sustainability of the grocery store business through the income of the grocery store.

From the viewpoint of ensuring complex business security, the relevance of the present work is associated with the rationale of multilevel hierarchical approach to the classification of security threats in the age of globalization. The specificity of the threats specific to one or another level of the economy, helps to better understand and consequently to build an effective system of ensuring complex business security. For each of the nine hierarchical levels of the economy the author identifies the main threats to the business, as well as the objects and subjects of this study. It is noted that the performance of the business in the form of a complex hierarchical system depends on the principle of specification. The author gives examples of the use of the basic principles of specification. It is noted that the decomposition of the economic system from the viewpoint of its hierarchical nature is of great importance not only to the distribution of the goals and objectives of security of business levels of the system, but their subordination corresponding to each level. The result is the development of specific recommendations and elaboration of the main directions to ensure complex business security for mega-, macro-, micro-, mini-, nano - and mesoeconomic levels. Although the priority of action in multi-level hierarchical system is directed from the upper to the lower levels, the success of the system as a whole depends on the behavior of all system components. It is stated that the interaction with the environment in business occurs mainly in the lower levels of the hierarchy. The quality system of ensuring complex business security which deals with hierarchical positions, will depend not so much on top-level elements, but on response to intervention on the part of lower level, more precisely from their total effect. In other words, the quality of the system of integrated safety management business provides organized feedbacks in the system.
