The treatment experience of 205 children aged from 1.5 mos to 14 yrs with dermoid or epidermoid cyst was summarized. The external localization was noted in 196 (95.6%) children, internal--in 9 (4.4%). The difficulties most frequently occurred while differential diagnosis conduction of the tumor-like neoplasms, localized in the region of the nose bridge and on the anterior neck surface. The cyst relapse occurred in 2 (1%) children, during the operative intervention conduction the cyst capsule integrity was broken and, may be, all of her membranes were not dissected completely. The cyst malignancy was not noted.

In 1979-1993, a total of 1,320 patients with tumors of various histological patterns were operated on by transnasal and transsphenoidal access. Among them, 57 patients had dysembryogenetic tumors: craniopharyngiomas (n = 37), chordomas (n = 10), angiofibromas (n = 6), Rathke's pouch cysts (n = 2), epidermoid cysts (n = 2). Eleven patients were operated on by a combined access (transcranial, then transnasal). The paper gives in detail the clinical aspects, X-ray diagnostic features of dysembryogenetic tumors of sellar-sphenoidal site, identifies their basic growth variants. It also describes the specific features of the access and operation techniques. Indications and contraindications for surgery have been developed. Tumors were totally and subtotally removed in 82.5% of patients. Visual improvements were observed in 74.4%. It is concluded that the transnasal and transsphenoidal access maybe used as the major method of surgical treatment and combined surgical treatment of dysembryogenetic tumors of sellar-sphenoidal site.

Of the 14 women in whom presacral cysts were detected in connection with pregnancy or labor in only 4 this condition was diagnosed before labor, in the rest 10 it was revealed only in labor or after it; this fact points to the necessity of profound examinations of the presacral space in women who consult a physician because of pregnancy. If presacral cysts are detected in pregnancy terms of up to 12 weeks, abortions are advisable, if such cysts are detected later, the patient should be regularly examined by an obstetrician gynecologist and by a proctologist.

Since 1955 to 1975 the authors observed one hundred sixty patients with teratoid formations of the pararectal cellular tissue. Under consideration are diagnostic methods used nowadays clinically and the problems of the differential diagnosis as well. The authors point out the basic principles of surgical treatment of the pathology involved. The authors' experience with surgical treatment and the complications observed are analysed. It is felt that this pathology is encountered much more frequently, than it was previously supposed.
