В статье рассматривается соотношение объяснительной и интерпретационной моделей научного знания в историко-правовой науке, традиционно нацеленной на выявление исторической преемственности юридических конструкций и правовых систем в соответствии с формально-логическим подходом к оценке источников права. С целью изучения и развития эпистемологии социально-гуманитарного знания рассматривается частная, но принципиально значимая эпистемологическая проблема – возможность мысленного эксперимента (МЭ) в науке истории. Показаны методология и значение МЭ в естествознании, в частности, в истории физической науки, а также в эпистемологии гуманитарного знания на примере трудов В.Ф. Одоевского. Гуревич)., To investigate and develop the epistemology of social studies and the humanities, this paper examines some special features of historical studies methodologies, and, in particular, how thought experiments are possible in historical studies. To begin with, the methodology and significance of thought experiments are shown in connection to the history of physics and the humanities. In the chronicle of the Historical Faculty of Gorky Ural State University (now Ural Federal University), which is going to celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2018, there is a dramatic page, confirming the modern theory of “mental pluralism” of Soviet people. In this case, it concerns ideas that gave rise to a “new direction” in historical studies in the 1960s and 1970s. Scholarly discussions about the peculiarities of the multi-structural nature of the socioeconomic structure of pre-revolutionary Russia based on the studies of Moscow scholars (A. L. Sidorov, I. F. Gindin, K. N. Tarnovsky, L. M. Ivanov, P. V. Volobuev, M. Ya. Gefter, etc.) and Ural scholars (V. V. Adamov, T. K. Guskova, P. A. Vagina, L. V. Olkhovaya, etc.) faced harsh criticism and accusations of academic inconsistency ignoring the Leninist analysis of the said issues, and the understatement of Russia’s readiness for a proletarian revolution. Found in the Open Society Archive (Budapest, Hungary) whose collection of Soviet samizdat amounts to several thousand items, the document published below reflects the reaction of dissident society to this historiographical situation unusual for the late Soviet research. An article entitled Issues of Capitalist Russia was published in 1974 in the Zemlya, a journal imbued with Russian national ideology. The main character of the article is Head of the Department of the USSR History of the Pre-Soviet Period, Ural State University, Vladimir V. Adamov, the inspirer and editor of the disgraced collection of articles Issues of the History of Capitalist Russia. Problems of Multi-Structurality, which was published in Sverdlovsk in 1972., В летописи исторического факультета Уральского государственного университета им. А. М. В данном случае речь идет об идеях, породивших «новое направление» в исторической науке в 1960–1970-е гг. Научные дискуссии об особенностях многоукладного характера социально-экономического строя предреволюционной России, основанные на исследованиях столичных (А. Л. Сидоров, И. Ф. Гиндин, К. Н. Тарновский, Л. М. Иванов, П. В. Волобуев, М. Я. Гефтер и др.) и уральских (В. В. Адамов, Т. К. Гуськова, П. А. Вагина, Л. В. With the application of comparative methodology, this article analyzes biblical allusions, reminiscences, paraphrases, direct and indirect quotations, and symbols in the poetry of Austrian, German, and Ukrainian writers (Georg Heym, Mykola Bazhan, Mykola Khvyliovyj Todosii, T. Osmachka, Pavlo Tychyna, Georg Trakl, Stefan Zweig, Franz Werfel). It explores literary connections between interpretations of Old and New Testament quotations in the original languages (Hebrew and Greek) and poetry in the original languages (Ukrainian and German). Comparison of literary and biblical texts written in the original languages with literary and biblical texts in translation shows both similarities and significant differences in the interpretation of biblical elements. Hamartiological, pneumatological, Christological, apocalyptic, and eschatological motifs and their comparison with Ukrainian and German poetic texts are treated as a model of comparison for the transformation of categories of expression as one of the basic principles for many expressionist texts.

The author of the paper shows the weakness of the traditional understanding of Anabaptism of the sixteenth century as a kind of Protestantism. There are a number of important arguments to prove the position that, in reality, Anabaptism was the “third way” movement. The Anabaptists were not Catholics because they outwardly looked like the Protestants, proclaiming the Reformed principle of sola Scriptura, and denying all the complicated Roman Catholic rites, hierarchy, and sacred objects. At the same time, the Anabaptists were not Protestants because they in wardly retained the Catholic mentality, defending things such as the freedom of the will, rejecting double predestination, asserting anecclesiocentric theology, keeping the main monastic values, using a strict system of discipline, and struggling against state control. Anabaptism was a unique phenomenon, however, having deep roots in the medieval Christian tradition.
