We present the results of study of illegal actions predictors in individuals with mental disorders and discuss the specific features of female criminality. On a sample of 69 patients with a diagnosis of organic mental disorder and schizophrenia, with criminal histories, we applied clinical and psychological hermeneutic analysis, used questionnaires to determine the self-assessments of patients, self-control diagnosis, self-regulation style features, diagnosis of aggression and hostility, coping strategies, destructive attitudes in interpersonal relationships. It made possible to identify clinical, social and pathopsychological factors of aggressive behavior in forensic patients. These individual psychological characteristics of mentally ill women will improve the prognosis of their aggressive behavior, implement differentiated preventive measures in the hospital and to establish appropriate intervention programs

The paper is devoted to the modification of enamels for road marking on the basis of binding Akrokam-23 with multi-walled carbon nanotubes with an unmodified and oxidized surface. There are two methods to introduce nanotubes into the enamel traffic. One is to introduce nanotubes directly to the binder solution with intensive ultra-sonic dispersion. Another one is to obtain pre­liminarily dry powdered modifier (nanotubes concentrate in petroleum resin) which is soluble in road enamel. The aim of the investigation was to determine how method of introduction of nanotubes into enamel affects its wear resistance. Using method of thermogravimetric analysis the proper­ties of MWCNTs concentrates in the petroleum resin have been studied. The tests of obtained enamels on the wear resistance showed that the direct introduction of MWCNTs in enamel for road marking gives much greater strengthening effect than the introduction of petroleum resin concentrate. However the direct introduction is characterized by numerous technological diffi­culties. Surface modified carbon nanotubes which were introduced through the concentrate LES do not affect the value of wear resistance but the initial nanotubes increase this value by 20%. In the present study it is shown that the dependence between abrasive wear and concentration of MWCNTs possess significant minimum. When the concentration of multi-walled carbon nano­tubes equals to 0.001% the maximal increase of wear resistance (by 40%) can be achieved.

Objective: Implementation of the control method to validate previously obtained calibration functions according to GOST R ISO 11095-2007 using Reference Materials (RM): standard RMs - aqueous solutions of ethanol, produced and certified by the organization, and internal RMs - aqueous solutions of ethanol in different concentrations, developed by the user for internal use., Material and Methods: We applied the control method in accordance with the National Standard of the Russian Federation GOST R ISO 11095-2007 using the standard and internal RMs - aqueous ethanol solutions in different concentrations. Measurements were performed for two subranges of ethanol concentrations on standard and internal RMs in accordance with the certified method., Results and Conclusion: Control charts based on experimental data confirmed that the system was in a controlled state, and the calibration function required no updates on Day 7. No studied values fell outside the upper and lower control limits on the control charts. The uncertainty of the transformed values was assessed during the calibration function validation.

Purpose: to identify factors associated with development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in the early postoperative period of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)., Methods: A total of 376 patients with ischemic heart disease who underwent CABG were enrolled in the study., Results: During the observation period AF occurred in 74 patients (19.7%, 93% men, mean age 64.0+/-6.4 years), an average of 3.6+/-2 days after surgery. Multivariate regression analysis showed that odds ratio (OR) for AF in patients with age >59 years was 1.5 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.1-3.5; p=0.04), aortic cross-clamping time >43 min - 2.4 (95% CI, 1.05-6.2; p=0.03), left atrial dimension (LAD) >39 mm - 5.0 (95% CI, 2.0-12.6; p=0.0006), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <51% - 3.6 (95% CI, 1.6-8.3, p=0.002). During ROC - analysis the high sensitivity was observed for LAD >39 mm (82%, =0.001), high specificity - for LVEF <51% (80%, =0.0009), highest positive likelihood ratio for LVEF <51% - 2.56 (=0.0009), greatest negative likelihood ratio for LAD >39 mm - 0.31 (=0.001)., Conclusion: In our study, the risk of AF development in the early postoperative period of CABG depended on the patients age, left atrial size, left ventricular ejection fraction, and aortic cross-clamping time during CABG.

The comprehensive study of morphometrical parameters and viscoelastic properties of right ventricle and left ventricle papillary muscles of ISIAH rats during the development of arterial hypertension has been carried out. It is established the significant increase of the index of heart mass to body mass and to tibia length of ISIAH rats in comparison with WAG rats of the same age. There are no any significant differences of "stress-strain" dependences of all experimental groups.

Under monocrotaline treatment of rat right ventricle myocardium preparations significant changes in morphometric indices for male, but not for female preparations are adduced as compared to the control group. Peculiarities of adaptation of mechanocalcium uncoupling mechanism, one of important regulation mechanisms of rat myocardial contractility, were first revealed. Myocardial pressure overload results in the increase of time to peak force without alteration of characteristic time of isometric tension, relaxation for male rats under myocardial hypertrophy compared with control group rats. In addition, the decrease of the load dependent relaxation index in the male rats was obtained. Characteristics of myocardial contractility of female rats have not significant changes as compared to the control group.

Ultrasonic calculus scaling has become a common oral hygiene procedure in patients with composite restorations, dental veneers, orthodontic brackets. The aim of the study was to evaluate in vitro the influence of the EMS-ultrasonic system scaling on the flowable composite bond strength to the tooth enamel, dentine, and e-max ceramic. The samples were divided into three groups: 1 group (composite bonded to enamel), 2 group (composite bonded to dentine), 3 group (composite bonded to e-max ceramic). The bonded samples were loaded to failure in the universal testing machine. The shear bond strength was calculated in newtons (N). T (Student's)-test was used to evaluate the data. Significantly lower bond strengths were observed with the ultrasonic treated samples in each groups. The EMS-ultrasonic system scaling significantly decreases the flowable composite bond strength to the tooth enamel, dentine, and e-max ceramic.

The periodontal tissue level may change after gingival margin retraction and tooth preparation. The aim of the study was to assess the influence of these manipulations on the condition of free gingival margin. The study included 53 persons (29 women and 24 men) divided into 4 groups followed-up for 6 to 8 weeks. Blood circulation in marginal gingiva of 118 teeth with healthy periodontal tissues was assessed by ultrasonic Doppler evaluation to reveal the circulation impairments in cervical margin after teeth crown preparation. The first group included 39 teeth, in which the gum was retracted by Roeko stay put non impregna cords ("Langenau", Germany). The second group included 39 teeth with shoulders prepared at the gingival margin; in the third group (40 teeth) the shoulder was located subgingivally. The fourth group (40 teeth) was control. The changes in recovery indices have been analyzed. The linear values were established as most significant and demonstrative. The indices variations and recovery period length depended on the coronal edge location. Statistically significant differences were found among all the groups (p>0.05). The results may be used to improve crown preparation for fixed dentures and decrease the recession rate of free gingival margin.

Aim of the study was to assess remote results of surgical reconstruction of the left ventricle (LV) in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and chronic heart failure (CHF). During 1996-2010 136 patients with IHD complicated by CHD were subjected to surgery. The patients were divided into 2 groups: with LV aneurism (group 1, n=70) and with ischemic cardiomyopathy (group 2, n=66). In all patients we performed coronary bypass surgery and Dor LV reconstruction. Moderate and high degree mitral regurgitation was corrected. Hospital mortality was 5.4% in group 2. There were no inhospital deaths in group 1. In all survivors we noted reduction of LV dimensions and sphericity of LV cavity, increase of LV ejection fraction. Ten year survival was 78 and 56,5% in groups 1 and 2, respectively. In 10 years after surgery 80.2 and 68% of patients, respectively, had no signs of high NYHA class (III-IV) CHF. Thus surgical intervention on all components of intracardiac pathology in patients with IHD with CHF allowed to achieve satisfactory long term results.

Viscoelastic properties of relaxed rat papillary muscles at physiological hypertrophy (intensive swimming for 5 weeks) have been obtained. It has been ascertained that viscoelastic properties of hypertrophied muscles are not significantly distinguished from those of control papillary muscles. A three-dimensional model of myocardial fascicle has been verified in compliance with experimental data of biomechanical tests of hypertrophied muscles. Elastic and viscous parameters of structural elements of the model negligibly differ from the parameters of the model of a control muscle. It is shown that physiological hypertrophy has a slight influence on viscoelastic properties of papillary muscles.

The authors analyze their experience with video-capsular enteroscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy in 184 patients. High diagnostic significance of enteroscopy and the possibility to perform minimally invasive operations are shown.

A comparative study of ITS-2 rDNA of the nematodes of the genera Orloffia, Ostertagia, Teladorsagia, and Trichostrongylus was performed. The obtained results allow us to consider Orloffia, Ostertagia, and Teladorsagia as closely related but distinct genera. The results of the study indicate that O. bisonis is the only valid species in the genus Orloffia, which has two morphologically distinct forms of males: O. bisonis (major morph) and O. kasakhstanica (minor morph). The percentage of similarity of ITS-2 sequences was 83.3-84.5% between Orloffia spp. and Ostertagia ostertagi, 84.9-86.1% between Orloffia spp. and Teladorsagia circumcincta, and 73.8-74.6% between Orloffia spp. and Trichostrongylus colubriformis.

Partial sequences of the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS-2) rDNA were obtained for Ostertagia ostertagi and O. lyrata, which are supposedly constitute two morphologically distinct variants of the species. The 1.4% level of difference between the ITS-2 sequences of O. ostertagi and O. lyrata was reported, whereas the sequences derived from worms of the same morph were completely identical. The data obtained prevent an attribution of O. ostertagi and O. lyrata to the same species.

The radiation inactivation technique was applied to conduct the study on catalytic activity changes of creatine kinase species isolated from the Mid-Asian Death Adder venom. Both intact and the 25Mg-enriched enzyme samples were separately tested. Some differences in radiation stability levels were found to be indicating to a shift in conformational condition (a so called "conformational distribution") of the native enzyme that had happen in the presence of the magnetic nuclei excess.

Stability of angiotensin-converting enzyme was studied as a dependence on the zinc-ions concentrations brining in the apo-enzyme. Our data were discussed in the terms of a set of initial permissible conformation conditions of a protein (conformation distribution). Apo-enzyme was shown to be able to the radiation activation that is disappearing in the presence of even 10(-6 )mol/l of the zinc-ions.

On the basis of the experimentally measured isotope effect of magnesium (25)Mg on the rate of ATP synthesis by mithochondrial ATP synthase, the rate constants of the reactions in the catalytic site have been estimated. The limiting step of the synthesis is shown to be the addition of8phosphoryl anion-radical of ADP to the P=O bond of phosphate with the rate constant of 1,2 x 10(8) s(-1). From the ratio of the rate constants, the mechanochemical efficiency of ATP synthase was estimated to be about 10% for enzymes with (24, 26)Mg isotopes and to be doubled for enzymes with (25)Mg in the catalytic site.

The production of ATP in mitochondria depends on the magnesium nuclear spin and magnetic moment of a Mg2+ ion in creatine kinase and ATPase. This suggests that enzymatic synthesis of ATP is an ion-radical process and thus depends on the external magnetic field (magnetobiology originates from this fact) and microwave fields, which control the spin states of ion-radical pairs and affect the ATP synthesis. The chemical mechanism of ATP synthesis and the origin of biological effects of electromagnetic (microwave) fields are discussed.

The ATP-generating activity of both rat myocardial mitochondria and intramitochondrial creatine phosphokinase (CPK) was examined as a function of the incubation medium magnesium pool isotopy. The in vitro systems tested were prepared from the hearts of animals treated with single injection of 1-methyl-nicotine amide (MNA) suppressing the NAD(P)-dependent reactions in vivo. The presense of the 25Mg paramagnetic cations leads to essential compensation of intramitochondrial ATP deficiency caused by the MNA induced blockade of oxidative phosphorylation. This effect is merely unreachable in those systems where the magnesium pool consists of isotopes with a zero nuclear spin (24Mg, 26Mg). The reactivation of mitochondrial ATP synthesis described here involves CPK activity which does not depends on MNA. In this case, a high efficiency of this reactivation seems to be a spin selective phenomenon which requires, predominantly, 25Mg2+ cations.

A discovery of the huge magnesium isotope effect in enzymatic ATP synthesis provides a new insight into mechanochemistry of enzymes as the molecular machines. It has been found that the catalytic activity values of ATPase, creatine kinase and phosphoglycerate kinase are 2 to 4-fold higher once their active sites contain magnetic (25Mg) not spinless, non-magnetic (24Mg, 26Mg), magnesium cation isotopes. This clearly proves that the ATP synthesis is a spin-selective process involving Mg2+ as the electron accepting reagent. The formation of ATP takes place in an ion-radical pair resulted by two partners, ATP oxyradical and Mg+. The magnesium bivalent cation is a key player in this process, this ion transforms the protein molecule mechanics into a mere chemistry. This ion is a most critical detail of structure of the magnesium dependent phosphorylation enzymes as the mechanochemical molecular machines.

In this case, the high efficiency of this restaration seems to be a spin-selective phenomenon which requires predominantly 25Mg2+ cations. A possible meaning of the data for further studies on the mechanisms of enzymatic catalysis regulation is discussed.

A complex clinical and computer-assisted EEG study was carried out. 97 patients with acute ischemic cerebral hemisphere and 27 patients with acute ischemic brain stem stroke have been observed. A computer-assisted EEG was found to improve considerably diagnostic quality of stroke patients. It enables to determine the degree of functional lesions of the brain. Local changes of EEG-pattern prevail in patients with acute ischemic cerebral hemisphere stroke. Patients with acute ischemic brain stem stroke developed diffuse changes of EEG-pattern. Background EEG is the most representative technique to reflect bioelectric activity of the brain and it enables to assess the plasticity and reactivity of processes of the brain.

Within the previously described concept designed for a radiation-induced activation/inactivation of enzyme tested, an equation for further analysis of the dose response changing mechanism has been proposed. This mechanism includes both rate and probability of the appearance of different conformation forms of enzyme, as well as with accumulation of the water radiolysis active products.

This is a first report on the presence of creatine kinase, ATP-generating enzyme, in the venom of Vipera xanthia representing the Viperidae family of poisoning snakes. Kinetic and catalytic properties of 40 kD active monomer has been described with a following discussion on the issue of potential of the data listed for further research in either toxic coagulopathy molecular mode or enzyme application dealing with "thrombin-thrombin receptor" interaction studies. An enzyme purification procedure includes hydrophobic (phenyl-Sepharose), anion exchange (MonoQ) and affinity (ADP-Sepharose) chromatographic steps.

The so-called median-weight molecular fractions (M, B = 0.5-1.5 kDa) exerting a marked hemopoietic effect in the cultured bone marrow erythroblastic islets were isolated from the plasma deproteinates of healthy dogs and animals with acute inflammation (thermal skin burn) by Sephadex G-15 gel chromatography. Acute inflammation is attended by the occurrence of blood medium-weight molecular components that suppress erythropiesis and by the concurrent high rate of granulocytopoiesis in the cultured bone marrow erythroblastic islets. Medium-weight molecular fractions from the blood of healthy dogs substantially were found to suppress erythropoiesis and to stimulate granulocytopoiesis in the cultured erythroblastic islets.

As many as 146 patients in the acute period of cerebral ischemic insult (CCI) and cerebral hemorrhagic insult (CHI) of hemispheric localization were examined. Clinical-and-neurological examination was done together with that computed-tomography (CT)-guided, computerized electroencephalography (CEEG), applied mathematical statistics. Polymorphous relation has been revealed between the clinical pattern of cerebral insult and CT/CEEG criteria. The strongest relation has come to be between the localization and clinical pattern of CCI, and between the size of the affected area and clinical patterns of CHI. Parameters of the EEG-pattern closely correlate with clinical patterns of insult.

In search of an active alcohol dehydrogenase inhibitor, the structure of which may serve as the basis for a potential drug design, the active site of alcohol dehydrogenase containing NAD and Zn2+ ions was mapped using the method of molecular mechanics. Molecular docking was performed using a number of ligands containing characteristic functional groups: formate ion, ammonia, ammonium ion, methanol, and methylamine. Sites of preferable binding were revealed for each ligand and arranged in order of decreasing energy of binding to the enzyme. A comparison of the predicted ligand-binding sites and the experimental data on the location of water and inhibitor binding sites in the known structures of corresponding alcohol dehydrogenase complexes indicated a coincidence of the complex formation sites, which confirms the validity of the method and provides the requirements for a highly effective inhibitor (the pharmacophore model).

The efficacy of postoperative pain relief by ketanov and tramal was assessed in 42 patients operated on the abdominal organs and lower limb arteries. The time of development of the analgesic effect and duration and depth of analgesia were compared. The drug effects were compared from protocols of clinical examination, hemodynamic changes, and time course of external respiration and blood saturation with oxygen. The findings confirm a high analgesic effect of ketanov, which is not inferior to tramal, and by some parameters even higher.

The role of neutrophil leukocytes in the development of the polyorgan failure syndrome during an unfavorable course of destructive pancreatitis is discussed. The examinations of 52 patients demonstrated a high correlation of neutrophil functional activity tests (nitroblue tetrazolium reduction test and leukocyte-platelet aggregation) and disorders of microcirculation and hepatorenal involvement (detected clinically and by laboratory tests). The "critical mass" of leukocytosis has been estimated: at least 18 . 10(9)/liter, at which the risk of polyorgan failure appreciably increases. The authors discuss the advisability of selective cytopheresis in a complex of intensive care for critical states involving endogenous poisoning and leukocytosis.

A case of successful treatment of severe form of Guillain-Barre polyradiculoneuritis complicated with pneumonia, myocarditis and nephritis in a child aged 12 is described. Complex intensive therapy including discrete plasmapheresis led to the patient's extubation on day 21, complete recovery of arm and leg movements on week 5, and regression in signs of myocarditis, nephritis, and pneumonia. The stay in hospital accounted for 56 days, which is twice as little as compared to the literature data. Six months after treatment the child's condition was satisfactory, no pathology in neurological status was observed.

The results of management of 156 patients with severe forms of acute peritonitis have been reviewed. The authors have used complex intensive care which included rational application of antibiotics, detoxication techniques, immunomodulation, prolonged epidural anesthesia, correction of homeo- and hemostasis, trigger system inhibitors, etc. Complex intensive care improved considerably the results of management even in elderly and old patients with acute peritonitis: out of 156 patients only 21 patients (13.4%) aged 70 and more died.

On the basis of X-ray determined coordinates specified with computer graphics and new data on amino acids sequence in the structure of Bacillus intermedius 7P ribonuclease there were analysed potentially charged residues and found ionic pairs binding independently denaturing regions-energetic domains. Five clusters of charged amino acids were found in the protein structure and several ionic bonds between the energetic domains were discovered: Asp7, Asp11-Arg109 and Lys26-Asp53,Glu72. Breaking of the latter makes their heat denaturation independent. Local surrounding of the ionic bonds is characterized and their role in the structure and cooperative properties of the globule is discussed.

Two variants of anesthesiological management have been used in 135 patients with gastrointestinal tumors. The first variant was intubation anesthesia with N2O+O2, ketamine or sodium hydroxybutyrate combined with classical neuroleptanalgesia technique. Pentamine was used to potentiate protection. This anesthesia technique was used in patients under 50 who had no concomitant diseases. The second variant was used in patients over 50 with concomitant diseases. In these cases combined prolonged epidural anesthesia was accompanied in the intraoperative period with intubation anesthesia with controlled lung ventilation using N2O+O2 and additional administration of promedol and droperidol. The second variant of anesthesia not only ensured a safe intraoperative period but also optimized the management of patients in the postoperative period.

Statistical model of dsDNA packaging to icosahedral bacteriophage capsid is presented. The model describes intraphage DNA as a globule, i.e. intramolecular liquid crystal. We analyse the free energy of DNA, which has a globulized part inside the phage capsid and coil-like tail outside it. Conditions when processes of DNA movement into capsid or back are thermodynamically favorable are investigated. These processes are not accompanied with any thermal effects. It is not "all or none" type process, i.e. intermediate stable states are possible. The role of DNA interaction with the capsid inner wall is considered. The essential model abilities for qualitative explanation of experimental data are exhibited.
