Phenylketonuria is one of the most common genetic diseases among the European population that manifests by increased blood phenylalanine content. It has been proven that diet therapy by restricting or excluding phenylalanine is vital for this group of population. Until now, Ukraine has not considered the issue of the quantitative composition of essential amino acids required in the therapeutic amino acid dietary products. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the quantitative composition of essential L-amino acids in the therapeutic dietary products for people with phenylketonuria.Mutations in the phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) gene and impaired metabolism of the tetrahydrobiopterin cofactor (BH4) lead to phenylalanineemia and the development of phenylketonuria of various forms. Control of phenylalanine (Phe) levels in the blood is only possible by keeping the diet therapy, which includes three key elements: restriction of natural proteins, consumption of products containing L-amino acids without Phe and low-protein food. The composition of the food product for special therapeutic purposes (blended amino acid products) for people with phenylketonuria includes substances containing L-amino acids, micro- and macronutrients, vitamins, sometimes carbohydrates, fats and other nutrients. The quantitative and qualitative composition of a special product should contain a significant proportion of essential amino acids as components of the body nitrogen balance and essential for metabolism. According to the literature about the peculiarities of the breakdown and absorption of essential amino acids, and taking into account desirable blood Phe content, the amount of the amino acids in the blend should be at least 100%, and according to European recommendations, even by 40% higher, when compared with the amino acid composition recommended by WHO / FAO / UNU (2007). This amount of essential amino acids improves the blood Phe content in people with phenylketonuria. Thus, the amount of amino acid composition and the required proportion of essential amino acids in the blended amino acid therapeutic products should be well-balanced and comparable to the age-related nutrition needs for people with various forms of phenylketonuria.

Background. The underdevelopment of the sinter production in Ukraine not only results in the reduction of the iron smelting rates, which are presented in the analytical part of the article, but it is also the main factor of a serious ecological situation in the country. Materials and/or methods. The methods used in the research are scientific and special ones of the analysis of the processes and phenomena in their interconnection and development, comparative analysis method, quantitative method, sample and observation, technical and ecological analysis. Results. The necessity to update sinter plants has been grounded. The modernization directions of sinter industry have been described. General space arrangement solutions have been suggested alongside with technological and technical peculiarities of modern sinter production, including that adapted to the Ukrainian conditions. Conclusion. Sinter production of mining and metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine is extremely out-ofdate in technical level and buildings, premises and equipment dilapidation. The proved advantages of modern sinter production in Ukraine must induce the construction of a new sinter plant in the nearest future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article is devoted to theoretical justification of classification of general managerial functions. Critical analysis of scientific works of eminent specialists in management gave a possibility to find out that classification of functions of the subject of management should be based on the objective cyclic change of the state of information by three stages: appearance of information, its concentration and transformation into a programme of specific actions. The article offers a classification model of the integrated managerial activity in social and mixed systems, which includes differentiation of managerial functions into three orders. Providing information, decision making and realisation of the decision are functions of the second order (basic) in this model, while accounting, analysis, goal setting, planning, organisation, management and control – are, consequently, functions of the third order (derivatives). The article considers one specific example from management practice with the aim of verification of the author’s opinion regarding the processed classification of managerial functions.

The change of electric cardiac stability parameters and LP in catecholamine cardio necrosis in rats simulated by prolonged injection of increasing doses of noradrenaline was studied in this work. It was established that noradrenaline injection in low-altitude (760 m) and high-altitude (3200 m) is accompanied by hypertrophy, microcirculation disturbances, ischemia and cardiomyocytes necrosis, ECS decrease, LP activation and decrease of enzymatic activity of antioxidant defense. ECS of animals adapted to high-altitude decreased less and their LP processes were more active with preservation of enzymatic activity of antioxidant defense.

Experiments on anesthetized dogs have shown that intravenous infusion of 1 mg/kg of propranolol has no essential effect on the threshold of ventricular fibrillation, but considerably reduces the duration of the vulnerable period. Ligation of the coronary artery during propranolol infusion does not cause a reduction in the fibrillation threshold or prolongation of the period of vulnerability; propranolol inhibits the fibrillatory effect of ligation of the vessel. Infusion of propranolol after ligation of the coronary artery leads to the return of the fibrillation threshold and the duration of the period of vulnerability to the initial values. Prolongation of the period of vulnerability after ligation of the coronary artery and its reduction after propranolol infusion occur due to shifts in the internal boundary of the period. There is a direct correlative relationship between the duration of the vulnerable period and the body mass of the dogs: the greater the mass of the animal, the longer the duration of the period of vulnerability.

It was shown in experiments on anesthesized dogs that a decrease in the rate of cardiac contractions from moderate to low by vagal stimulation results in a sharp reduction of the duration of the vulnerable period and considerable increase in the threshold of ventricular fibrillation both under normal conditions and in acute coronary occlusion. A direct correlative connection between the rhythm of cardiac contractions and the duration of the vulnerable period was revealed. With maintained unaltered rhythm of cardiac contractions simultaneous maximum stimulation of both vagus nerves has no significant effect on the duration of the vulnerable period and threshold of ventricular fibrillation both under normal conditions and in acute coronary occlusion.

Dog heart was shown to be more prone to ventricular fibrillation at the stage of completed right-ventricular hypertrophy about 5 months after pulmonary arterial trunk was stenosed by 2/3 of the original lumen, as compared to normal heart. Electrical instability of the heart with completed right-ventricular hypertrophy increases in proportion to the magnitude of hypertrophy.

The alcohol dehydrogenase reaction on active charcoals has been studied. It is shown that the reaction rate on active charcoals decreases in comparison with usual conditions but the reaction being carried out for a longer period of time, the equilibrium shifts towards the NADH formation, which makes the NADH yield several times higher. A conclusion is made on the possibility of charcoals to influence the enzymic reactions in a living organism.
