Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid and chlorhexidine mouthwash in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis., Material and Methods: Clinical and microbiological studies were conducted before and 14 days, 1, 3 and 6 months after the periodontal treatment in 46 patients (144 implants with fixed dentures) with peri-implant mucositis. The patients were divided into 3 groups: test, comparison and control. Basic periodontal therapy in all groups included professional cleaning and individual oral hygiene training. Test group (15 patients) received basic periodontal therapy plus 0.20% chlorhexidine with hyaluronic acid mouthwash, the comparison group (15 patients) - basic periodontal therapy +0.05% chlorhexidine mouthwash. In control group (16 patients), treatment was limited to basic periodontal therapy only., Results: At the initial stages of observations, there was a statistically significant improvement in the clinical indices in all treatment groups ( p <0.001). The use of 0.20% chlorhexidine with hyaluronic acid mouthwash revealed a higher quality of treatment. After 6 months of observation, the clinical features in patients of the control group was almost similar to the state before treatment. The patients of the test group had a more pronounced elimination of facultative and periodontal pathogens in comparison with other groups., Conclusion: The use of 0.20% chlorhexidine with hyaluronic acid containing mouthwash allows the clinician to achieve a better results in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis. The evaluation the oral microflora in patients with peri-implant mucositis can be used as a prognostic criterion for the outcomes of rehabilitation.

Development of radiation mucositis in patients with oropharingeal cancer who are treated by radiation therapy leads to constrains breaks, decreases of the quality of life and makes the radiation dose in target insufficient. All above mentioned increases recurrence risk. Since 2010 there was developed and introduced the method of prophylaxis and treatment of radiation injuries of oral cavity in patients with oropharingeal cancer which gives an ability to improve radiation treatment outcomes and the quality of life of patients.

The effectiveness of the peptide immunomodulator molixan as a means of support and correction of chemoradiation therapy of oral mucositis have been studied in 36 patients with primary regional cancer of the oral mucosa and the oropharynx. Combined chemotherapy of patients with cisplatin and standard radiotherapy was associated with progression of oral mucositis and hematopoietic disorders which manifested themselves in the form of neutro-, lympho- and thrombocytopenia. Therapeutic intramuscular application of molixan at a dose of 60 mg once a day after a fraction of irradiation made it possible to reduce the severity of oral mucositis (from grade III-IV to grade I-II), as well as to maintain in patients a higher level of white blood cells and platelets in the blood, which made it possible to complete the planned course of chemoradiation therapy.

The efficiency of remaxol for prevention and treatment of chemoradiotherapy toxicity effects in patients with advanced oral cancer was evaluated. Ninety-five oral cancer patients were using remaxol both locally (mouth rinse solution) and by intravenous infusion, 87 patients were included in control group. Intravenous remaxol proved to be effective for mucositis and nephrotoxicity prevention by chemoradiotherapy.

Results of clinical research of local application antiseptic composition containing silver for treatment of prosthodontic and orthodontic stomatitis (gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, mucositis). The specified antiseptic preparation pad estimated efficiency in treatment of the common health condition of patients, complaints of patients and the data of clinical observation.

The combined use of laser radiation and Radachlorine revealed the presence of correlation between the number of viable Streptococcus pyogenes cells and the concentration of photosensitizer (r=-0.62), time of irradiation (r=-0.75), as well as energy density (r=-0.80). The death of 100% of suspended S. pyogenes cells was observed at the concentration of Radachlorine reaching 14.4 mM and radiation power reaching 1 W, irrespective of energy density. Pulse and superpulse laser radiation, carried out simultaneously with the use of Radachlorine at a concentration of 1.8 microM, resulted in the death of 100% of S. pyogenes cells in vitro. On the experimental model of inflammation the application of 0.1% Radachlorine gel demonstrated higher effectiveness (in comparison with 0.35% Radachlorine solution) when used simultaneously with laser radiation, both continuous and superpulse (with energy density being 400 j/cm2 and power being 1 W). The use of these parameters in the treatment of the experimental foci of inflammation in the animals led to the complete elimination of S. pyogenes from infected tissues.

Carrageenan is shown to cause acute inflammation in mucous membrane of hamster cheek pouch and rat hind foot. Rutin has no effect on the pathological process in the cheek pouch, and arrests the first phase of inflammation in the foot. Esculamine has a therapeutic effect on both phases of inflammatory reaction in the cheek pouch and foot.

Antiviral activity of RNA-ase isolated from the fermentation broth of Actinomyces rimosus was studied. The effect of the enzyme on multiplication of the viruses of vesicular stomatitis, Newcastle and cariolovaccine diseases was investigated. It was found that the enzyme was capable of suppressing reproduction of the vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) in the culture of chick fibroblast cells. The suppression level directly depended on the enzyme concentration and decreased with an increase in the infection multiplicity. The enzyme had no effect on multiplication of other viruses tested. RNA-ase decreased the infectious properties of the freshly isolated virus-containing material in concentrations showing the antiviral effect. Preliminary incubation of the cells with the enzyme resulted in suppression of the plaque formation by VSV. The RNA synthesis in such cultures treated with RNA-ase was somewhat lower. It was shown that the antiviral effect of RNA=ase was connected with its enzymic activity. RNA-ase has no antiviral effect in the experiments with mice infected with VSV.
