The report is dedicated to the landmark work by V.A. Karlov “Epilepsy in children and adult women and men”, 2nd edition, released in 2019. Here, there are discussed crucial aspects underlying a theory and application for epilepsy treatment reflected in the monograph that underline a great importance for complete all-encompassing analysis of experience and advances in domestic and foreign epileptology described in the book.

Tardive drug dystonia / dyskinesia is one of the rare, and at the same time, the most severe motor complications associated with the use of pharmacological drugs. Complex assessment of risk factors for the development of tardive drug-induced side effects makes it possible to take a more rational approach for the target therapy, to make rehabilitation more effective and safe.

Background: Essential tremor is one of the most prevalent extrapyramidal disorders, while treatment efficacy in such patients remains low. Clinical polymorphism of essential tremor requires a differentiated treatment approach, that should be implemented with consideration of objective tremor parameters. Aim: To study efficacy of treatment of essential tremor based on tremorography. Materials and methods: We followed up 85 patients with essential tremor (mean age, 69.05±1.2 years) who were treated with anticonvulsants as monotherapy (primidone or topiramate), or with combination treatment with non-selective beta-blockers (propranolol), anxiolytics (hydroxizine, etifoxine) and aminophenylbutyric acid. During the treatment, we assessed changes in functional status by Fahn-Tolosa-Marin Tremor Severity Scale and by tremorography. Results: Under treatment with primidone, there was a decrease in global tremor assessment of postural tremor (p=0.036) and of action tremor (p=0.001). Peripheral blood monocytes play a key role in regulation of immune response during pregnancy. Intensive adhesion of monocytes to endothelium proves that monocytes are activated during pregnancy. To determine a potential role of adhesion molecules for ability of monocytes to adhere, we studied expression of CD11a, CD11b, CD11c, CD18, CD49d, CD29 markers of monocytes from non-pregnant and pregnant women. Expression of adhesion molecules on monocytes was analyzed by flow cytometry. The amounts of CD11b-expressing monocytes increased during pregnancy, as compared with non-pregnant women. Intensity of CD11a, CD11b, CD11c, CD29 expression on the monocytes did also increase at normal pregnancy. These results suggest that intense adhesion of monocytes to endothelium during uncomplicated pregnancy may be determined by increased expression of CD11a, CD11b, CD11c, CD29, and higher amounts of CD11b+ monocytes.

The article is dedicated to the activities of the Mobile diagnostic group (MDG) of the Federal State Budgetary Establishment «27 Scientific Centre» of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. It provides the information about the MDG`s structure and tasks. In particular, the article describes the personnel`s actions in planning and conducting NBC reconnaissance operations at the territory of the Kuril Islands chain and the Crimean Peninsula, as well as in the examination of objects, where large numbers of people and VIPs might be expected, for the presence of toxic substances and sources of ionizing radiation. The information, necessary for the prediction of the situation in the area of security measures, has been received. The article shows that the experience, gained by the MDG experts since the moment of the group`s formation, allows them to carry out their tasks successfully in the context of growth and constant changes in modern NBC challenges and threats.

In relation to the challenging epidemic situation in Russia caused by the spread of novel coronavirus infection, specialists from the Russian NBC Protection Troops were involved in the disinfection of different facilities and equipment in all regions of the country. The aim of this article was to summarize the experience of mobile Decontamination Operational Groups (DOGs) of the NBC Protection Troops in infection prevention and control for COVID-19 in Moscow and Moscow Region. The mobile DOGs for this region were formed on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Establishment «27 Scientific Centre» of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. This center possessed vast experience in performing special tasks for ensuring radiation, chemical and biological safety of different objects. The DOGs were formed from highly qualified professionals with relevant experience in scientific research studies in radiation, chemical and biological protection issues. During the period March 30 to June 28, 2020, the mobile DOGs have performed cleaning and disinfection procedures for different objects at more than 120 addresses in Moscow City and Moscow Region. Thus, they have decontaminated 550 thousand sq. m of surfaces, 13491 units of automotive equipment, 67 passenger cars for personnel, 18 IL-76 aircrafts of the Russian Aerospace Forces and supportive machinery. Nevertheless, the experience of DOGs in infection prevention and control for COVID-19 in Moscow and Moscow Region demonstrated the need to improve the NBC protections means and disinfectant solutions. In general, the disinfection measures organized and carried out by the mobile DOGs have demonstrated high efficiency. There have not been a single case of COVID-19 among DOGs personnel throughout the entire period of performing cleaning and disinfection tasks in epidemic foci.

Some indicators that determine the trends in the aquaculture development in the world, such as the number of employed and the volume of aquaculture production by continent have been considered as well as a forecast for the development of the industry in comparison with industrial fisheries and an analysis of the volume and growth rate of aquaculture production in some foreign countries have been given. The essence of regional protectionism in aquaculture has been revealed, its relationship with government programs and strategies for the aquaculture development in the country has been determined, the development and implementation of which are based on the formation of strategic competitive advantages in the global market and ensuring national food security.An analysis of the level of food security by the countries of the world allowed the authors to identify some foreign countries from different regions of the world with various forms of government and to characterize the implementation of regional protectionism in aquaculture in these countries. As a result of evaluating the implementation of regional protectionism in some foreign countries, the authors concluded that the volume of aquaculture production is directly dependent on the effectiveness of protectionism measures in the regions (provinces, states and other domestic territorial entities). In addition, the efforts made by Central authorities to support and develop aquaculture in the country, expressed in the development and active implementation of state programs and strategies, delegation of authority to the regional level, as well as support for the development of informal industry institutions, are a significant factor not only in ensuring food security of the state, but also in increasing the effectiveness of regional protectionism measures in aquaculture.

Well-structured transition systems (WSTS) became a well-known tool in the study of concurrency systems for proving decidability of properties based on coverability and boundedness. Each year brings new formalisms proven to be WSTS systems. Despite the large body of theoretical work on the WSTS theory, there has been a notable gap of empirical research of well-structured transition systems. In this paper, the tool for behavioural analysis of such systems is presented. We suggest the extension of SETL language to describe WSTS systems (WSTSL). It makes the description of new formalisms very close to the formal definition. Therefore, it is easy to introduce and modify new formalisms as well as conduct analysis of the behavioural properties without much programming efforts. It is highly convenient when a new formalism is still under active development. Two most studied algorithms for analysis of well-structured transition systems behavior (backward reachability and the Finite Reachability Tree analyses) have been implemented; and, their performance was measured through the runs on such models as Petri Nets and Lossy Channel Systems. The developed tool can be useful for incorporating and testing analysis methods to formalisms that occur to be well-structuredness transition systems.

The paper describes the origin of bone fracture eponyms. The authors compiled a list of 60 most established fracture names proposed by physicians in 16th-20th centuries who mainly were skilled, mature and outstanding experts from countries with advanced conventional medicine and often represented the recognized surgical schools. Eponym records are important for understanding the history and subject of the chosen profession as well as knowledge of eponymic fractures facilitates communication between physicians of allied disciplines.
