The paper presents biographical data on Nićifor Perić, Metropolitan of Raška-Prizren and Skenderija. It analyzes his role of a religious leader, who also had jurisdiction in the marital and partly hereditary law. A special focus is put on his work concerning the establishment of important church institutions and funds. The paper explains his relationship towards education and one part focuses on the issue of the monastery of Visoki Dečani, especially when the foundation of the Committee for debt settlement and stay of Russian monks there is concerned. The paper also explains the nature of the Metropolitan’s misunderstandings both with the Ottoman authorities and the authorities of the Kingdom of Serbia, because he did not yield in his firm attitude concerning the preservation of church privileges, including the authority over schools. Another focus is on the relationship of the Great Church (Ecumenical Patriarchate) with Metropolitan Nićifor and the events that took place during his rule in the Raška-Prizren and Skenderija Metropolitanate.

The paper focuses on the historiographical work of Simeon Piščević (1731–1797) History of Serbian People (Istorija srpskog naroda) written in Russia at the end of the 18th century. Simeon Piščević was a Serb who started serving military in the Austrian army during the War of the Austrian Succession and then went to the Russian army, where he got as far as to the rank of general. Miloš Crnjanski partly based the main character of his novel Migrations (Seobe) on this person. The first part of the paper focuses on the history of his manuscript, which remained unknown until the end of the 19th century, while the second part presents the structure of this work, the sources on which the author relied and the methods that Piščević applied as a historian.

- Abstract
Po našem mišljenju ova modifikacija je univerzalnija i za terapeute u praksi prihvatljivija., Direct pulp capping is long used in the treatment of diseased pulps. The best known and at the same time the most acceptable technique is the one where the capping is done with a silver-plate and placed above the exposed pulp. Although this technique protects the dental pulp very well from external pressure, it can not, however, be said that it is the most ideal method. It may be applied exclusive lyiniarge and easily accessible cavities. For exposed pulps in small and inaccessibie cavities, a simpler method had to be found. In the introductory part of the paper prelim inary steps are described which are im portant for the succesful treatment. This is the preparation of cavities, removal of the carious dentin above the pulp and application and adaptation of the drug at the exposed pulp. The technique of pulp capping by means of a metal cap is described and the good and bad sides of this method are listed. The m odified technique in direct pulp capping mentioned ih this paper is carried out w ith soft phosphate cement exclusively. In the lower teeth w ith Iarge and accessible cavities simple pouring over of cement serves to cover the adapted drug. In cavities of the upper jaw and other less accessible cavities the work is done that a ring is first made by adding small portions of soft phosphate cement around the very drug. Subsequently individual portions of the same cement are used to bridge the ring by adhesion of these portions from one to the other end of the ring until the entire quantity of the drug is covered. The aforementioned ring firmly secures the drug in the cavity and renders it possible to cover the drug without the slightest pressure by bridging and adding of cement. This m odification of the technique of work tends to achieve the same defect as the technique of pulp capping by means of a metal cap. In our opinion this modification is more universal and much more acceptable in the dental practice., Eingangs werden alle Vorarbeiten die fur eine erfolgreiche Pulpabehandlung in Betracht kommen, beschrieben.

There are various doubts and ambiguities regarding the dispatch of the memorandum by the Government of the Independent State of Croatia (ISC) to the Western Allies asking for military intervention in early May 1945, giving rise to different interpretations in historiography. These varying interpretations are related to the circumstances of the dispatch of the memorandum, its text, the actions of prominent representatives of the Ustasha government, relations between the new Yugoslav authorities and Western allies, especially the British and the role of Archbishop Stepinac and the Holy See in the ISC. In order to understand the memorandum, it is necessary to consider the most important political and military circumstances at the end of World War II in Yugoslavia, especially the politics of the new Yugoslavia and the Western powers, primarily the British. The representatives of the Holy See in the ISC and the Archbishop of Zagreb, Alojzije Stepinac, played an important role in efforts to preserve the Ustasha state. This paper was written based on unpublished and published archival sources and relevant historiographical literature.

This paper addresses the Jewish issue as a whole and also the main phenomena in the life of the Jewish community in New Yugoslavia. Given the specificity of the historical development and present situation of the Jews, the life, problems, and perspectives of the Jewish community in any country cannot be properly observed and explained without insight into the social development of that country as well as the common phenomena and problems of Judaism as a whole.

Jewish Almanac ,časopisi, jevrejski (Jugoslavija) ,Jevrejski almanah ,periodicals - Jews (Serbia) - Abstract
Jewish History Museum and the Association of Jewish Communities of Yugoslavia have included in their program the occasional publication of certain proceedings with scientific papers in the field of the history of Yugoslav Jews. The editorial board of the Jewish Almanac, starting with this volume, has partly altered the profile of the Almanac. The scientific works that have been more or less represented in all of earlier publications have been eliminated. However, the Almanac for the 1968-1970 years also contains several articles that deal with issues of science and history in a popular way, so it has two main parts: a journalistic article that includes several such articles and a literary one. Nacrt korica: Jovan Čurčić. Štampano u 1200 primeraka.

- Abstract
Prikazano je elektroforetsko razdvajanje na niskoj temperaturi (+ 2°C) otrova vipera ammodytes i odnos pojedinih elektroforetskih frakcija prema koagulaciji krvi., Coagulation studies on saline eluates of bands cut from a paper strip on which vipera ammodytes venom was electrophoresed at low temperature (2° C) show coagulant and anticoagulant principles. The coagulant substance migrates toward the anode, the anticoagulant fraction migrates on the opposite site towards the cathode. The clot-promoting eluate of the venom depends in his activity on the concentration of prothrombin, proaccelerin and the factor VII complex. An obvious enhancement in the activity of the coagulant substance could be demonstrated in the presence of platelets and platelets substituent cephalin. The anticoagulant fraction show antithromboplastin-like activity, which was inactivated by platelets and the Christmas-factor.

Veterinarians - Jews (1941-1945) ,veterinari - Jevreji (1941-1945) - Abstract
A significant role in the setting up of the first organization of the veterinary service and its further professional development in certain territories of Yugoslavia was played by the Jews veterinarians. In some territories they were pioneers of the veterinary service. Thus, for example, the first veterinarians appeared in Slovenia at the end of the 18th century, and these were two brothers, Emanuel and Antun Hajne, who were Jewish. At the time of setting up the first organization of the veterinary service in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of the 19th century, there were a large number of Jews among veterinarians; it was similar in Croatia and Slavonia as well as in Vojvodina. The occupation of Yugoslavia in April 1941 means the terrible fate of the largest number of Jewish veterinarians. According to incomplete data, out of a total of about 120 Jewish veterinarians, 74 graduated veterinarians and 18 veterinary students were killed in various Nazi, Ustasha and Hungarian camps. Accordingly, about 62% of the total number of veterinarians were Jewish. This paper provides brief biographical information on veterinary personnel who suffered as a victim of fascism, as well as on personnel who participated in the war.

- Abstract
The paper presents a review and analysis of the fundamental sound changes in con-nexion with word formation in literary (standard) modern Serbo-Croat. These changes fall Into two basic categories: (1) constant and (2) occasional (specific). Constant sound changes occur in all parts of speech in all cases when the necessary con-ditions are given. These include the following changes: (1) consonant assimilation by voicedness; (2) consonant assimilation by place of formation; (3) consonant reduction. The most important occasional (specific) sound changes occur in connexion with simple nouns formed from verbs and in connexion with words derived by suffixes. In some simple nouns formed verbs, the vowel in the root of the verb and of the noun is not identical (brati berem — birati — izbor, etc.). Of the sound changes occurring in connexion with words derived by suffixes, the most important are those in derived nouns, adjectives and verbs. The sound changes occurring in con-nexion with each of the more important suffixes were analysed separately: noun suffixes (-ba, -ivo, -stvo, -anstvo, -urda, -e, -je, -ak, -(a)k, -ulj(a)k, -ik, -ka, -lo, -janin, -ina, -urina, -etina, -inja, -nje, -ar, -ara, -ura, -16, -(a)c, -l(a)c, -ica; -ce), adjective suffixes (-av, -ev, -ov, -ji, -ski, -an, -(a)n, -ev(a)n, -in, -fast) and verb suffixes (ale, ivaluje, a/a, ili).

- Abstract
The patients were treated in the Neuropsychiatric ward of the General Hospital in Sombor and in the Neuropsychiatric University Department in Novi Sad. Clinical pictures of poisoning were classified into three groups: discrete, manifest and severe/with lethal issue. Eight patients belonged to the third group, three of them died. In 'the paper are presented the results of chemico-toxicological analyses of the blood and urine of treated patients, post mortem findings and ,the results of the chemical analysis of three samples of the petrol used for metal washing in the plants in which the poisoned workers were employed.

- Abstract
Since 1969 Serbia has been conducting the programme of eradication louse-borne typhus. To this effect of Law on the eradication of communicable diseases has been passed. In addition to Republic Commission, as well as 6 regional commissions, and 18 communal commissions in whose territory the disease is being eradicated, have been formed. The operations consist of four phases: preparatory attack, consolidation and final phase. The methods and measures applied under the programme include the measures concerned with the control of vectors, i.e. lousiness, measures to detect the source of infection, respectively patients with louse-borne typhus and Brill-Zinsser disease. The control of louseiness effected through the impregnation of underwears and bed linens by means of syntheic insecticides (DDT, Maltox), as well as through health education activities, has yielded good results, so that the highest rate of lousiness: 9.08% (Sjenica, Tutin 4.37%), was reduced to less than 1% in 1972. To detect the source of infection, both active and pasiive investigation has been carried out. Active investigation included regular control of the health state through thermometry applied to registered households with lice. Passive investigation is carried out trough out -patient units and residential services which take care of all febrile patients coming from endemic areas. The results obtained from the three-year operations indicate that the percentage of dected patients with Brill-Zinsser amounts to 0--4--3.9%, as well as that it is still lagging behind with respect to the immunity acquired through previous affections in the endemic areas. The distribution of detected patients with Brill-Zinsser especially indicates that a small number of patients from endemic ares has been detected. The paper presents the criteria for the evaluation of results, making a proposal that a professional body should be formed at the federal level to coordinate the methods and programmes of operations. In addition that body's task would be to expand the operations to all endemic areas in the country.
