Lead-free soldering has become very popular in the world recently, especially in electronics, because of high ecological demands in industry. Some of lead-free solder alloys are already used in electronic industry, but despite that investigations are still going in order to find suitable replacement for Pb-Sn standard solder. In this paper phase equilibria and characterization of Sn-In-Ag alloys in section In:Ag = 7:3 are investigated. The results of phase diagram calculation are obtained by ThermoCalc software, and characteristic temperatures by DSC method. The results of XRD analysis, optical microscopy, microhardness and electrical conductivity are also presented. These results are given in order to contribute the knowledge about lead-free solders, especially Sn-In-Ag solder alloys, which are potential candidates for replacement standard lead solders.

The ternary Ag-In-Sb system is a promising candidate for use as a Pb-free solder. The results of phase equilibria calculation by the CALPHAD method are presented in this study. The isothermal section at 400°C was calculated using optimized thermodynamic parameters of the constitutive binary systems. Calculated vertical sections from the indium and antimony corners were compared with the DTA results from this study and from the literature.

U doktorskoj disertaciji su predstavljeni rezultati ispitivanja faznih ravnoteža i termodinamičke analize legura sa efektom pamćenja oblika u sistemima Cu-Al-Ag i Cu-Al-Au. Eksperimentalni deo rada obuhvatio je ispitivanja odabranih legura iz navedenih sistema primenom metoda termijske (DTA) i strukturne analize (optičke mikroskopije i SEMEDS), na osnovu čega su utvrdjene temperature faznih transformacija, strukturne karakteristike i fazni sastav ispitivanih legura. Analitički deo rada izvršen je primenom CALPHAD metode uz korišćenje termodinamičkog softvera Pandat ver. 8.1, a proračun odgovarajućih ravnotežnih faznih dijagrama urađen je na osnovu optimiziranih termodinamičkih parametara za sastavne binarne sisteme i termodinamičkih parametara eksperimentalno dobijenih u ovom radu. Uporednom analizom dobijenih eksperimentalnih rezultata i proračuna na osnovu raspoloživih polaznih termodinamičkih podataka, odredjeni su fazni dijagrami odabranih izotermalnih i vertikalnih preseka u ispitivanim sistemima, kao i odgovarajuće invarijantne reakcije. U okviru dodatne karakterizacije izvršeno je i merenje tvrdoće, mikrotvrdoće i električne provodljivosti legura ispitivanih Cu-Al-Ag i Cu-Al-Au ternarnih sistema. The results of investigation of phase equilibria and thermodynamic analysis of shape memory alloys in Cu-Al-Ag and Cu-Al-Au ternary systems are presented in this doctoral thesis. Experimental work included methods of thermal (DTA) and structural analysis (light optical microscopy and SEM-EDS), of the selected alloys from these systems which had enabled determination of the temperatures of phase transformations, structural characteristics and phase compositions of the investigated alloys. The analytical part of the work was carried out according to CALPHAD method using thermodynamic software Pandat ver. 8.1 and calculation of the corresponding phase diagrams was done using optimized thermodynamic parametars of the constituent binary systems and thermodynamic parametars experimentally determined in this thesis. Phase diagrams of the selected isothermal and vertical sections in investigated systems as well as corresponding invariant reactions were determined by comparative analysis of the obtained experimental results and calculations based on availble thermodynamic data. As additional characterization of investigated alloys of Cu-Al-Ag and Cu-Al-Au systems, hardness, microhardness and electrical conductivity were determined too.

Fazne ravnoteže u Bi-Cu-Ni ternarnom sistemu proucavane su eksperimentalnim metodama (SEM-EDS, DTA i DSC), kao i analiticki primenom CALPHAD metode. Proracun ravnotežnih faznih dijagrama u Bi-Cu-Ni sistemu izveden je na osnovu optimiziranih termodinamickih parametara za sastavne binarne sisteme i dodatnih termodinamickih parametara, odredenih u ovom radu. Proracunati fazni dijagrami izotermalnih preseka na 300oC, 400oC i 500oC uporedeni su sa eksperimentalnim rezultatima iz literature i ustanovljeno je dobro medusobno slaganje. Definisani su ternarni termodinamicki parametri za tecnu fazu, i BiNi fazu u kojima je uzeta u obzir eksperimentalno potvrdena rastvorljivost bakra u BiNi fazi. Proracunati fazni dijagrami tri vertikalna preseka uporedeni su sa DTA/DSC rezultatima iz ovog rada. Odredene su tvrdoca i elektricna provodljivost kao dopunska karakterizacija legura ispitivanog Bi-Cu-Ni ternarnog sistema. Phase equilibria in the Bi-Cu-Ni ternary system have been studied experimentally using SEM-EDS, DTA and DSC methods, and analytically using CALPHAD method. Calculation of equilibrium phase diagrams of Bi-Cu-Ni system was performed using optimized thermodynamic parameters of the constituent binary systems and additional thermodynamic parameters determined in this study. Calculated isothermal sections at 300oC, 400oC and 500oC were compared with experimental results from the literature and good agreement is found. Ternary thermodynamic parameters for the liquid phase were determined, as well as for the BiNi phase, in which the experimental confirmation of copper solubility in BiNi phase was taken into account. Three calculated vertical sections were compared with the DTA/DSC results from this work. Hardness and electrical conductivity as an additional characterization of the investigated alloys of Bi-Cu-Ni ternary system were determined.
