LANGUAGE teachers , *TEACHER development , *FOREIGN language education , *FRENCH language , *CRITICAL thinking , *HUMAN activity recognition - Abstract
The paper focuses on the problem of teaching foreign language grammar using literature in secondary schools. Our aim is to propose and provide teachers of French as a foreign language with effective and practical didactic recommendations for teaching the past tense in French through a literary text. In selecting a particular text and in conceiving didactic recommendations, we take into account the potential of working with a literary text to contribute to the self-development of the learner, to the development of his/her reading and language skills, to the development of his/her critical thinking and other important aspects of his/her personality. The chosen text is an authentic literary text -- the Quebec short story Le petit bonhomme de graisse, which in terms of content and scope meets the criteria for selecting a text for the chosen didactic purposes. The proposed activities for working with the text are designed for learners with reference language level B1 according to the CEFR, where the learners encounter the chosen grammatical phenomenon and the problem of its application in communicative practice. From a linguodidactic point of view, the chosen text corresponds to this language level and does not need to be didacticised. The partial aim of this paper is to offer FLE teachers a tool for the development of grammatical competence and its application to learners' communicative practice. In proposing activities related to authentic literary text, we take into account Slovak learners in Slovak schools, but nevertheless these proposals are applicable in the educational system of other countries where French is taught as a foreign language. MENTAL work , *CULTURAL activities , *POETRY (Literary form) , *INSPIRATION , *LITERATURE , *BIRTHPLACES , *LITERARY criticism - Abstract
The paper, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech author Jan Vladislav, describes his literary activities in the field of poetry, prose, translation, literary criticism, essays and literary work for children and youth. The author describes Vladislav's work as an editor and publisher through which he co-created a parallel model of culture and literature during the normalization process in Czechoslovakia. One of the aims of the paper is to promote Vladislav's Slovak roots reflected in numerous literary works in which he returns to his childhood in Hlohovec. In addition to his broad literary, artistic, cultural and intellectual activities, and despite the fact that he is considered a figure of Czech literature, the paper comments on the generally overlooked inspiration which he drew from his birthplace. Therefore his name is not well-known in our cultural context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Jaroslav Hašek (1883 -- 1923), one of the most distinctive personalities of Czech literature, became known mainly because of the creation of the Dobrý vojak Švejk (Good Soldier Švejk). On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth and within the framework of the Museum of Czech Literature project in Prague, an overview of publications devoted to his life and work -- Bibliografie Jaroslava Haška (Bibliography of Jaroslav Hašek) -- was created. The bibliography entitled Jaroslav Hašek na Slovensku (Jaroslav Hašek in Slovakia), containing records of his life and work in the Slovak press from 1921 -- 1980, is a significant publication. The authors of the paper, this time on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hašek's death, present a personal bibliography of the writer for the years 1981 -- 2020. Based on an extensive overview of the publications, it is clear that Hašek was a personality whose message is, even today, applicable in many ways. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CENSORSHIP , *LITERATURE , *BLASPHEMY lawsuits , *READING - Abstract
This essay aims to analyze various forms of literary censorship in present-day Egypt. Since the abolishment of institutional censorship of literature and the press in the 1970s, the main instruments of silencing speech that is perceived as offensive or dangerous have been the Egyptian Penal Code and blasphemy lawsuits, based on the Islamic principle called isba. The paper explores the relationship between censorship and the perception of literature among the reading public. It also discusses some of the famous blasphemy trials such as the one with the academic Naṣr Abū Zayd or the writer Aḥmad Nājī. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based largely on foreign literature, the first part of the paper offers a simplified version of some basic knowledge of quantum theory to comply with the tendencies to apply quantum theory in psychology. The paper contains description of basic terminology in this field (quant, superposition, complementarity, complementary logic) and in the neo-Copenhagen interpretation of the original theory. Application of the aforementioned knowledge is focused primarily on defining quantum psychology (R. Dalrymple) and secondarily on questions of consciousness (M. Bancroft), cognitive processes (E. Conte) and such. The paper concludes with criticism of unsubstantiated applications (mere renaming of present psychological terminology, metaphors, reductionism in understanding human psyche). On the other hand, a reliable scientific approach is necessary in this field of study (clear formulation of themes, references to the specific physical interpretation of quantum theory). Currently, the conceptualisation of the relations between literature and memory is very diverse. It can be studied on the background of intertextuality, topics, canon, metaphor, and/or from the perspective of the question how to construct the memories as a narrative. A link between literature and time plays an important role, especially in autobiographic memory. A systemic theory, cognitive psychology, gender studies and media studies belong to the latest theoretical approaches concerned with literature and memory. Contemporary interdisciplinary memory research deals with a question: to what extent can the examined phenomena be classified? Because of this, my paper has a systemic nature. It evaluates the link between literature and memory on the background of three concepts: the memory of literature, memory in literature and literature as a medium of memory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
