International audience; In this paper we present an overview of hyperspectral imagery, its definition, its creation and acquisition through the basic elements of a remote sensing system, the principles on which it is based, the different ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum and reflectance depending on the type of material on which falls. We also present different spectral imaging applications, particularly in the fields of vegetative and minerals detection and determination. We also present some relevant techniques for processing and analyzing.
