Abstract

Memorias del Primer Congreso Internacional de Química Aplicada al Sector Productivo 2018. El primer congreso Internacional de Química Aplicada al sector productivo Quindío 2018 se realizará en la ciudad de Armenia (Colombia) y se llevará a cabo en el Centro Cultural Metropolitano de Convenciones Quindío (Colombia). Para el desarrollo del presente evento se escogió como tema central “Aportes de la Química al Sector Cafetero” y pretende reunir grupos de investigación, semilleros e investigadores de diferentes instituciones de educación superior y/o empresas que podrán compartir los resultados finales o parciales de sus proyectos de investigación en el área de química aplicada al sector productivo. Finalmente, se buscará potenciar las habilidades y conocimientos necesarios para lograr una comunicación eficaz y valorar los trabajos científicos como elemento valioso para dinamizar la difusión científica. Dada la importancia en el sector productivo este primer congreso pretende brindar un espacio para divulgar los avances tecnológicos en temáticas de interés tales como: agroindustrial, alimentos, ambiental, formación, materiales y energías alternativas de importancia para la industria y sus procesos productivos. Abstract

Objective: To provide a reference to rheumatologists and other physicians involved in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who are using, or about to use biologic therapies., Methods: Recommendations were developed following a nominal group methodology and based on systematic reviews. The level of evidence and degree of recommendation were classified according to a model proposed by the Center for Evidence Based Medicine at Oxford. The level of agreement was established through a Delphi technique., Results: We have produced recommendations on the use of belimumab, the only biological agent with approved indications for SLE, and other biological agents without an indication for SLE. The objective of treatment is to achieve a complete clinical response, taken as the absence of perceived or evident disease activity. Nuances regarding the use of biologic therapies in SLE were reviewed as well, such as the evaluation that should be performed prior to administration and the follow up of patients undergoing these therapies., Conclusions: We present the SER recommendations for the use of biological therapies in patients with SLE., (Copyright © 2013 Elsevier España, S.L. Abstract

Introduction: It may be difficult to determine the adequate mement, the information content and the most convenient person to inform patients with chronic, incurable disorders with uncertain prognosis as sclerosis multiple (MS)., Material and Methods: To gain information on how these aspects had been carried-out and the extent to which patients felt satisfied, we studied 60 definite MS ambulatory patients by means of a semistructured questionnaire attending a hospital-based MS unit. The results were compared with those from 40 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic disabling disorder of the locomotor system with variable course, examined in a similar way., Results: In the vast majority of patients (81.7 and 82.9%, respectively) in both groups the diagnosis had been delivered by a specialist, a point on which most patients agreed upon as convenient. However, most MS patients (78.4%) and nearly all of those with RA (97.6%) should have desired to receive information on their diagnosis as soon as this might had been firmly established. Though more than half the patients (61.7 of MS and 56.1% of RA) admitted to have developed depressive symptoms following information on their diagnosis, a majority expressed their desire to have been informed early about 'all the truth' regarding their prognosis (78.4 and 87.8%, respectively)., Conclusions: Though data from this study should be taken with caution when applied to MS patients shortly after experiencing their first symptoms, and it is therefore unwise to give rigid rules, the vast majority of MS patients express the desire to receive early, accurate, and individualized information on their diagnosis provided by a competent specialist.
