Abstract Chocolate is a delectable sweet enjoyed all over the world. Made from dried cocoa beans, through the process of roasting, grinding, and conching, chocolate is known for its taste and flavor. Although the sugar content of chocolate is limiting its reach to the health-conscious population, chocolate is endowed with immense medicinal benefits. The major ingredient of chocolate, cocoa, Theobroma cacao L., is a plant known as the “Food of the Gods” due to the abundance of polyphenols present in it. Processing conditions and parameters affect the polyphenol stability. Roasting process conditions affect the polyphenols of cocoa beans, especially the epicatechin and procyanidin. The variety of cocoa beans, quality and presence of fat, sugar, emulsifiers, drying time, and temperature are the important influencing factors affecting the polyphenol content of chocolate. Chocolate possesses antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer, anti–inflammatory, and good mood food properties but it is also shown to be prebiotic and helps in alleviating the symptoms of Alzheimer’s and heart disease. The functional properties of chocolate can be enhanced by the addition of certain foods/ functional ingredients. This paper reviews the role of chocolate as a functional food, the effect of processing on polyphenols, and the recent developments in improving the functional properties of chocolates through fortification.

Se presenta el diseño mecánico y electrónico, modelado cinemático y dinámico, programación y control de un helicóptero de 2 GDL y de bajo costo. Si bien existen plataformas comerciales de helicópteros de 2 GDL, su costo es elevado y por ende son poco accesibles. Esta situación puede evitarse mediante el uso de una plataforma basada en software de código abierto y en un sistema de adquisición de datos de bajo costo. Para este fin, en este artículo se presenta un helicóptero de 2 GDL cuyos movimientos de cabeceo y guiñada son accionados por motores de corriente directa, y son medidos por encoders ópticos. Para la interpretación, procesamiento y monitoreo de los movimientos del helicóptero se emplea una computadora con Matlab Simulink. Para la adquisición de datos de los encoders y la generación de las señales de control del helicóptero se utiliza una tarjeta Arduino Mega, la cual se comunica con Matlab-Simulink por medio del Toolbox Arduino IO de código abierto. También, se propone un procedimiento para estimar los parámetros del modelo dinámico del helicóptero, y se utilizan para diseñar controladores PI-D que estabilizan el helicóptero en la posición deseada. Se presentan las condiciones en las ganancias de los controladores que garantizan la estabilidad del sistema en lazo cerrado. Además, se verifica el desempeño de la plataforma propuesta mediante resultados experimentales, los cuales se visualizan en un vídeo.

Introduction: Peer-assisted learning (PAL) has been extensively used in professional courses. However, its effectiveness as an adjunct to teacher-assisted learning (TAL) has not been evaluated. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Online PAL as an independent teaching methodology and as an adjunct to TAL, for dental students. Methods: Forty BDS year 3 students were divided into 2 groups of 20 each. Four year 5 students were chosen as tutors to teach 4 different topics using the Microsoft teams platform. The study was conducted in two parts. At first, two topics were taught to one group by the tutor (peer-led group) and the other group, by a teacher (teacher-led group). Next, the remaining two topics were taught to both groups by the teacher initially. This was followed by repeated teaching of the topics to peer-led group by tutors, while other group did self-study. Students’ perception and performance scores were compared using an independent sample t-test for all the topics. Results: The mean performance scores in the teacher-led group for topics 1 and 2 were 86.15 and 90.22, whereas scores in the peer-led group were 75.38 and 79.21 which was statistically significant (p

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare neutrophilic disorder with an incidence rate of 3–10 cases per million per year, characterized by classically painful and aseptic ulcers, which may be associated with underlying systemic diseases. The pathergy reaction is seen in one-fourth of patients with PG. Accurate and timely diagnosis is crucial, as PG is known for its rapid progression. The management of PG is challenging and depends on its severity and rate of progression. An underlying systemic involvement should be sought even in spite of no symptoms. Herein, we report a case of giant pyoderma gangrenosum involving almost the entire left buttock with exceptionally raised c-ANCA levels, but no underlying systemic abnormality. The patient reported intense pain, rapid progression of the ulcers, an inability to perform daily activities, was significantly morbid and pathergy-positive. Aggressive and early management is required in cases such as this. A dramatic response was achieved with a combination of cyclosporine, dapsone, and methylprednisolone pulses.

Ante las evidentes desigualdades económicas que existen en los Estados Unidos y el mundo, surge la necesidad de repensar la economía desde nuevas perspectivas. De esta manera, para las circunstancias actuales, el mercado ya no puede ser el eje central de la economía, ni el neoliberalismo, el fundamento único en el que se base. Los autores proponen abrir el estudio de la economía más allá de los economistas y de lo cuantitativo, destacan la democracia y la equidad con el fin de lograr una prosperidad inclusiva.

Objective. To explore women's experiences of violence and their opinion on routine screening for domestic violence by nursing professionals in mental health care settings. Methods. This qualitative narrative research design was carried out among 20 asymptomatic women with mental illness at a tertiary care centre in Bangalore, India. Results. Narrative content analysis was performed, and five dominant themes have emerged: 1. Understanding the nature and signs of violence (subtheme: Meaning of violence), 2. Abusive experiences of women with mental illness (subthemes: Physical violence, psychological violence, social violence, sexual violence and financial violence), 3. Experiences on disclosure of violence (subthemes: Identification of violence by nursing professionals, Experiences of disclosure of violence), 4. Barriers for disclosure of abuse(subthemes: Fear of consequences, the hectic schedule of nursing staff, helplessness and hopelessness, perceived poor family support). 5.Routine screening for violence by nursing professionals (subthemes: reasons for routine inquiry of violence, nature of inquiry by the nursing professionals). Conclusion. Women with mental illness were undergoing more than one form of violence, and most of the participants supported routine screening by nursing professionals. Nurses play an essential role in identifying and supporting abused women in mental health care settings.

Background: Verrucae or warts are benign epithelial proliferations that occur due to accumulation of keratinocytes induced by HPV. Immunotherapy is a new promising modality which uses the principle of activation of one’s own immunity against the disease. Materials and methods: The study included 40 patients with multiple cutaneous warts in two groups of 20 each. Assigned treatment was injected into the single largest wart at an interval of 3 weeks until complete clearance or for a maximum of 3 times. Results: A statistically significant difference (p=0.018) was seen in the therapeutic response when compared to that of the BCG. All 20(100%) patients in the MMR group showed >50% clearance while in the BCG group 14(70%) patients showed >50% clearance according to Physician’s Global Assessment scores. Conclusions: Intralesional immunotherapy with MMR and BCG vaccines are both safe and promising whereas the therapy with MMR stands out with statistically significant results.

Background: Non venereological diseases of genitalia can be a diagnostic dilemma to a dermatologist and also a cause of considerable concern to the patient because they tend to get misdiagnosed with venereal diseases. Aims: To study the pattern and clinico-epidemiological profile of non-venereal dermatoses of male genitalia in Hadoti region of Rajasthan. Materials and Methods: We conducted this prospective, descriptive study in 250 male patients with non venereal dermatoses in Rajasthan from January 2015 to July 2016. The demographic profile and clinical findings of the patients were recorded and appropriate investigations and histopathological examination were done as and when required. Cases having venereal diseases were excluded from the study by clinical examination, serological and microbiological tests for venereal diseases. Results: The age of the patients ranged between one to 70 years, with mean age being 27.1 years. The most common dermatosis was nodular scabies 54 (21.6%) followed by sebocystoma multiplex 24 (9.6%), fixed drug eruption 19 (7.6%), tinea genitalis 17 (6.8%) and genital psoriasis 14 (5.6%) cases. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of diagnosing non-venereal dermatoses for both correct treatment of the patient as well as to alleviate the anxiety associated with venereophobia and cancer phobia.

Background: The incidence of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection among patients with Lichen planus (LP) varies considerably. There is also lack of data in Indian population. Due to these variation, this study is to assessing the prevalence of HCV infection among patients with CLP in Hassan Karnataka. Methods: 135 clinically diagnosed cases of Lichen planus more than 18 years of age will be included as cases.147 patients having skin diseases other than lichen planus will be included as controls. Details of the patients personal history and family history,medical history and blood transfusion history will be collected. Detection of antibodies against HCV (anti-HCV) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: Anti-HCV antibodies were found in 3(2.2%) patients of the case group and 1(0.7%) in control group. P value is 0.274, not statistically significant. Conclusion: Currently, there is no evidence confirming the relationship between HCV infection and CLP in Hassan Karnataka. However, there is a need for further research on larger groups of

Background: Skin lightening products (SLP) are widely used cosmetics among people that may result in lightening of skin complexion and may damage the skin. There seems to be a strong demand for lighter skin tone that is shared globally and promoted by the media. Aims and Objectives: To investigate the knowledge, attitude, and use of SLPs and its social and psychological correlation among people in a south Karnataka district Materials and Methods: A cross sectional survey, 2000 individuals irrespective of age and sex from a district in south Karnataka responded to a questionnaire. Results: This study explored SLPs use among 2000 individuals irrespective of age and sex in Hassan, Karnataka using a questionnaire. A total of 33.8% of the sample reported currently using SLPs, with women being two times more likely using these products. Among current users, 12.8% reported past experiences of adverse side effects. “Friends” and “Family” were the most common influence for using fairness products, followed by “Advertisements”. Discussion: Cosmetics market is flooded with skin lightening products and rampant use of the same has become a major public health concern in all countries along with the reinforcement of racism and social disparities. Side effects for skin lightening products are less reported which is similar to other studies. This could be the reason why there is no regulation of the products or the ingredients in the products. Conclusion: A high prevalence of SLP use was found in a sample of population in south Karnataka, and several social and mental health-related risk factors were found that may help in guiding interventions.

With the progressions in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the innumerable electronic devices (like smart sensors) and several software applications can proffer notable contributions to the challenges that are existent in monitoring plants. In the prevailing work, the segmentation accuracy and classification accuracy of the Disease Monitoring System (DMS), is low. So, the system doesn't properly monitor the plant diseases. To overcome such drawbacks, this paper proposed an efficient monitoring system for paddy leaves based on big data mining. The proposed model comprises 5 phases: 1) Image acquisition, 2) segmentation, 3) Feature extraction, 4) Feature Selection along with 5) Classification Validation. Primarily, consider the paddy leaf image which is taken as of the dataset as the input. Then, execute image acquisition phase where 3 steps like, i) transmute RGB image to grey scale image, ii) Normalization for high intensity, and iii) preprocessing utilizing Alpha-trimmed mean filter (ATMF) through which the noises are eradicated and its nature is the hybrid of the mean as well as median filters, are performed. Next, segment the resulting image using Fuzzy C-Means (i.e. FCM) Clustering Algorithm. FCM segments the diseased portion in the paddy leaves. In the next phase, features are extorted, and then the resulted features are chosen by utilizing Multi-Verse Optimization (MVO) algorithm. After completing feature selection, the chosen features are classified utilizing ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System). Experiential results contrasted with the former SVM classifier (Support Vector Machine) and the prevailing methods in respect of precision, recall, F-measure,sensitivity accuracy, and specificity. In accuracy level, the proposed one has 97.28% but the prevailing techniques only offer 91.2% for SVM classifier, 85.3% for KNN and 88.78% for ANN. Hence, this proposed DMS has more accurate detection and classification process than the other methods. The proposed DMS evinces better accuracy when contrasting with the prevailing methods.

Objective. To assess nurses’ knowledge and perceptions towards mental illness. Methods. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted among 126 randomly selected nurses those are working under District Mental Health program in Karnataka (India). The data was collected through self-reported questionnaires Using the modified version of Public perception of mental illness questionnaire and Attitude Scale for Mental Illness. Results. The findings revealed that majority of the subjects were women (74.4%), Hindus (92.1%) and were from rural background (69.8%). The mean Knowledge score 10.8±1.6 adequate knowledge (maximum possible =12) among 91% of the subjects, and 52% of them hold negative attitudes towards people with mental illness (88.9±13.6). While majority of the subjects hold negative attitudes in ‘Separatism’ (53.5%), ‘Stereotyping’ (73%), ‘Benevolence’ (54%), ‘Pessimistic prediction’ (53%) domains, they hold positive attitudes in ‘Restrictiveness’ (88%) and ‘Stigmatization’ (72%) domains. Objective. To examine undergraduate nursing student' attitudes toward people with mental illness and mental health nursing. Methodology. Results: Majority of the participants agreed that the theoretical (81.1%) and cpnical placement (85.4%) was adequate. Objective. Compare the attitudes toward mental illness between medical and nursing undergraduate students from a university in India. Methods. A cross sectional descriptive study was carried out among medical (n=154) and nursing undergraduate students (n=168) using Attitude Scale for Mental Illness (ASMI) questionnaire with six sub scales namely; Separatism, Stereotyping, Restrictiveness, Benevolence, Pessimistic prediction and Stigmatization. This was a 5-point Likert scale with 34 items to rate participants responses from totally disagree (1) to totally agree (5). The lower scores indicate positive attitudes toward persons with mental illness. Results. Our findings revealed that 54.5% of medical students versus 64.8% of nursing students have positive attitudes toward mental illness. While medical students have better attitudes against separatism and stigmatization, nursing students have more positive attitudes in benevolence and against pessimism. Conclusion. An important proportion of medical and nursing students have negative attitudes toward mental illness. Schizothorax curvifrons is a morphometrically and meristically most variable and economically valuable promising fish food from Kashmir Valley. Since there is a lack of information on stock structure of wild populations on this species, this study was aimed to investigate the intraspecific variation of this important snowtrout. For this, two rivers and one lake in Kashmir Himalaya were sampled from January 2011 to October 2012. Fish body measurements were taken and morphometric characters using the truss network system was constructed. Altogether, 506 fish specimens were collected. Data were subjected to principal component analysis, discriminant function analysis and univariate analysis of variance. The first principal component explained 63.44% of total variation, while second and third components explained 8.34% and 5.31%, respectively. The step-wise discriminant function analysis retained two variables that significantly discriminated the populations. Using these variables 83.4% of the original specimens were classified into their correct groups and 81.1% of the cross-validated (leave one out procedure) specimens were classified into their correct groups. In Coffea arabica (arabica coffee), the phenotypic as well as genetic variability has been found low because of the narrow genetic basis and self fertile nature of the species. Because of high similarity in phenotypic appearance among the majority of arabica collections, selection of parental lines for inter-varietals hybridization and identification of resultant hybrids at an early stage of plant growth is difficult. DNA markers are known to be reliable in identifying closely related cultivars and hybrids. Sequence Related Amplified Polymorphism (SRAP) is a new molecular marker technology developed based on PCR. In this paper, sixty arabica-hybrid progenies belonging to six crosses were analyzed using 31 highly polymorphic SRAP markers. The analysis revealed seven types of SRAP marker profiles which are useful in discriminating the parents and hybrids. The number of bands amplified per primer pair ranges from 6.13 to 8.58 with average number of seven bands. Among six hybrid combinations, percentage of bands shared between hybrids and their parents ranged from 66.29% to 85.71% with polymorphic bands varied from 27.64% to 60.0%. Percentage of hybrid specific fragments obtained in various hybrid combinations ranged from 0.71% to 10.86% and ascribed to the consequence of meiotic recombination. Based on the similarity index calculation, it was observed that F1 hybrids share maximum number of bands with the female parent compared to male parent. The results obtained in the present study revealed the effectiveness of SRAP technique in cultivar identification and hybrid analysis in this coffee species. Rev. Biol. Trop. 59 (2): 607-617. This article is based on the engagement of a US-based scholar and faculty members in a non-Western university in a mentoring exercise on publishing. It demonstrates how the “list” constructed in a particular academic department in the university for ranking relevant journals for publication has reproductive effects on knowledge construction. The ranking of journals shapes scholarly interactions both inside and outside the academic department, offering limited possibilities for developing local knowledge. A micro-level orientation to publishing is first adopted to bring out how rhetorical and textual choices are influenced by the list of ranked journals. Next, a broad lens perspective is adopted to explore how academic interactions and communication among local scholars are also shaped by such productivity targets to reproduce dominant knowledge. In the final section, the article reports on the way mentoring was reconfigured to identify strategic textual spaces for representing local knowledge within existing publishing conventions.

Se ha estudiado el comportamiento tribológico de materiales compuestos de matriz metálica de aluminio (AA5083)/nano-Al2O3 con un porcentaje de refuerzo variable de 2, 4, 6 y 8% en peso de partículas de nano-Al2O3. Los compuestos Al/nano-Al2O3 se prepararon utilizando una ruta de colada por agitación. Las imágenes de microscopía electrónica de barrido (MEB) de los materiales sugirieron una dispersión casi uniforme de las nanopartículas en la matriz de Al. El comportamiento al desgaste por deslizamiento se estudió utilizando un banco de pruebas pin-on-disc. El plan de experimentos tuvo como referencia la matriz ortogonal L25 de Taguchi utilizando tres parámetros de proceso en cinco niveles, a saber, porcentaje en peso de refuerzo, carga aplicada y distancia de deslizamiento. Los resultados obtenidos revelan que los materiales compuestos reforzados con nanopartículas presentan una mejor resistencia al desgaste. Mientras que la gráfica de efectos principales sugirió que el desgaste aumenta con un aumento en la carga, la distancia de deslizamiento y disminuye con un aumento en el porcentaje de refuerzo. El análisis de varianza (ANOVA) ilustró que la distancia de deslizamiento fue el parámetro más significativo. La morfología de la superficie desgastada del espécimen probado, bajo la condición de carga más alta, reveló la ocurrencia de un fenómeno de desgaste abrasivo.

Commentators have wrongly assumed that the operations and outcomes of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) reflected the intentions of the African National Congress (ANC) government that instigated it. In line with its agenda of substantive social history, the ANC intended to establish a new Gramscian ‘common sense’ of anti-colonialism and self-determination to drive anti-apartheid transformation. As part of its additional aim for an institutional intervention, the ANC sought to renovate the inherited technology of the colonial commission of inquiry itself. As the paper shows, these aims were overturned through the superimposition of ‘transitional justice’ within the workings of the TRC and the TRC’s ‘Final Report’. The continuing implications of this abduction are addressed in closing.

Porokeratosis (PK) are a group of keratinizing disorders clinically characterized by atrophic plaques with peripheral hyperkeratotic ridge which gradually spread in a centrifugal manner. The sites of predilection are trunk or extremities and facial lesions are rarely reported. We report a sporadic adult-onset case of porokeratosis of a 20 year old female with a solitary, asymptomatic, persistent classical plaque confined to the ala of nose. On reviewing the literature, nasal and perinasal area has been found to be exclusively involved in many cases of facial porokeratosis. Such cases have unique yet common epidemiological and clinical profile thereby deserving a separate category while being classified.

ABSTRACT Processes regulating pesticide fate in the environment are influenced by the physicochemical properties of pesticides and soils. Sorption and desorption are important processes as they regulate the movement of pesticides in soil. Although sorption-desorption is widely studied for herbicides, studies involving their metabolites in soil are scarce. Sorption and desorption of indaziflam metabolites (indaziflam-triazinediamine (FDAT), indaziflam-triazine-indanone (ITI) and indaziflam-carboxilic acid (ICA)) were investigated in six Brazilian (BRA) soils and three United States (USA) soils with different physicochemical properties. The Freundlich equation described sorption of the metabolites for all soils (R2 > 0.98; 1/n ~ 1). Sorption order (Kf) was ITI > ICA > FDAT. Mean values of Kf,oc were 453, 289, and 81 (BRA) and 444, 48, and 48 (USA) for metabolites ITI, ICA, and FDAT respectively. Desorption was hysteretic for all metabolites in all soils. These results suggest that these metabolites fall in the classification range of mobile to moderately mobile in soils.

Mesenteric fibromatosis is a part of the clinical-pathologic spectrum of deep fibromatoses. We report this rare case of primary mesenteric tumor that was diagnosed to be a mesenteric fibromatosis on histopathological examination. In majority of patients it may remain asymptomatic and the management of these tumors depends on histopathological examination. Postoperatively, patient was well and subsequent followup showed normal recovery.

Progressive hemifacial atrophy (PHA) of the face was first described by Caleb Hillier Parry in 1825 and Moritz Heinrich Romberg in 1846, hence the name Parry Romberg Syndrome was coined. It is a neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by progressive atrophy of the skin and tissues lying underneath like subcutaneous fat, muscle and bone. It is more common in females. Various etiologies have been proposed like autoimmune, hyperactivity of nervous system, infections etc., but none can fully explain its pathogenesis. Here we report a case of Parry-Romberg syndrome in a 70-year-old male which is the oldest case to present with this syndrome to the best of our knowledge.

Pityriasis versicolor is a superficial mycosis affecting the skin. It is caused by malassezia species of fungi. Common sites of involvement are chest, neck and shoulders. We report a rare case of pityriasis versicolor affecting both arms and dorsum of both hands but sparing the commonly involved sites and masquerading vitiligo.

Darier’s disease (DD) is a rare acantholytic dyskeratotic autosomal dominant genodermatosis characterized by the presence of warty, brown papules and plaques affecting the seborrhoeic areas. Frequent bacterial, fungal and viral particularly herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections complicate DD. Bell’s palsy is an acute onset, idiopathic facial paralysis resulting from a dysfunction anywhere along the peripheral part of the facial nerve. Reactivation of HSV is considered to be the main cause of Bell’s palsy. This case represents, to the best of our knowledge, the first case of DD presenting with Bell’s palsy. This case underlines the importance of recognizing HSV infection in DD.

Chronic cutaneous lupus erythmatosus (CCLE) and Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) are two separate diseases with some overlapping features. Upto 28% patients with CCLE are susceptible to develop SLE. But in some cases patients may present with CCLE with systemic features without developing SLE. Here, we present a case of Chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus with systemic symptoms simulating SLE with no positive immunological markers to support the diagnosis of SLE.

Introduction: Previous studies from India concluded that the incidence of cutaneous tuberculosis has fallen from 2% to 0.15%, whereas more recent reports suggest that cutaneous tuberculosis is again becoming more prevalent. Aims: To study the patterns of clinical presentation of cutaneous tuberculosis, to correlate them with histopathology, Mantoux reactivity and BCG vaccination status in the north-west region of Punjab. Methods: Analysis of the records of patients with cutaneous tuberculosis who attended the hospital between Jan 2009 to Dec 2012. Results: A total of 36 (0.02%) of dermatology patients had cutaneous tuberculosis. The type of cutaneous tuberculosis in decreasing order of incidence was lupus vulgaris 16 (44.44%) followed by tuberculosis verrucosa cutis 10 (27.77%), scrofuloderma 7 (19.44%) and tuberculids 3 (8.33%). There were no cases of erythema nodosum or miliary tuberculosis. Multiple sites were involved in 17 (47.22%) patients. Face and neck were the most common sites affectedMost of the patients (52.77%) presented with single lesion. Active tuberculosis in other organs were observed in 8 (22.22%) patients. Mantoux test was positive in 23 (63.88%). BCG scar was present in 23 (63.8%) patients. 29 cases (80.55%) showed characteristic histopathological changes of cutaneous tuberculosis. Conclusions: The incidence of cutaneous tuberculosis in the present study was found to be 0.02% which is far lower as compared to previous reports. Reason for this observation could be the effective implementation of the National Program for tuberculosis at primary and secondary level leading to early diagnosis and treatment, hence lesser number of cases reaching to a tertiary center. This study also depicts the histopathological correlation evident in 80.55% of the histopathological specimens which is highly significant.

En este artículo reportamos un caso de un recién nacido de 28 días de raza india al cual se le detectó, durante la autopsia, una anomalía muy poco frecuente. Esta consistía en la presencia de una sola aurícula y un sólo ventrículo comunicados por un sólo orificio aurículo-ventricular. Casos como este son incom-patibles con la vida. The increasing use of invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures in cardiovascular diseases makes it important that the type and frequency of vascular variations are well documented and understood. Congenital heart defects are among the most common of all birth defects. They can be thought of being common or complex lesions. In most cases of complex congenital heart defects surgical intervention is required in order to sustain life. Surgeons and Physicians need to be informed of the various forms of congenital heart diseases in order to be able to manage such conditions. We report an unusual case found on autopsy of a 28 days old male East Indian neonate, who had single atrial and single ventricular chambers of the heart, which were connected by common atrio-ventricular orifice. This congenital heart defect has to be documented. Such cases are usually incompatible with life.

Herpes zoster is a neuroectodermal viral infection which afflicts one or more closely grouped, spinal or cranial nerves, resulting in unilateral radicular pain and vesicular eruption limited to a dermatome innervated by that nerve [1]. Bilateral involvement is rare, bilaterally symmetrical involvement is extremely rare. We hereby report a case of bilaterally symmetrical herpes zoster in an old immunocompetent female.

Objective.To understand the views of medical and nursing undergraduates regarding consumer involvement in mental health services. Methods. A descriptive cross sectional survey was conducted in Bangalore, South India, among medical (n=155) and nursing (n=116) undergraduates using self-reported the Mental Health Consumer Participation Questionnaire of Happell et al.
