Based on considerations done in two previous papers about the viability to assume certain premises of the curricular approach based on the formation by competences; this possibility in relation to important aspects of the improvement in professionals formation in Cuba are discussed. Special attention is dedicated in this paper on discussion about the development of the denominated curricular strategies in Cuban Superior Education. Founded on these premises the idea to continue assuming, agreed with the increasing exigencies of our society, the challenges that until the moment have implied the development of the denominated curricular strategies in the curricula, are viable using itself some of the bases that are applied in the approach of formation by competences in relation to the denominated generic competences, transversals or professional basic, being an alternative makes specific the proposals that in present work consider.
