This article presents an updated overview on the teaching of social responsibility in Mexico, and his record in Latin America, to identify other teaching corporate social responsibility, is really a priority for Institutions of higher education, likewise are the main considerations that have guided the higher education Institutions to carry out training processes in corporate social responsibility, in this paper highlights the main definitions adopted this term as well as some major findings that have identified certain "trends, initiatives and actions of institutions" in front of the scope of corporate social responsibility. The paper is organized into five different sections, the first section presents introductory type questions and the main reasons that encouraged the development of the project and have made it possible to establish the background to the corporate social responsibility, the second presents the main definitions that have provided authors and national and international concept, the third section lists the topics and indicators of corporate social responsibility, a fourth section presents the teaching of social responsibility in Latin America and describes the initiatives undertaken by universities around Latin America, in the fifth section presents the main higher education Institutions have undertaken corporate social responsibility initiatives in Mexico, finally have some final thoughts on the main contributions of institutions of higher education in the teaching of corporate social responsibility. Given the obvious social and economic differences in Latin America, this paper establishes that the purpose of the company is not only economic gain, but also the service and social development of the community in which they are immersed. Faced with this dilemma between service and profit, more ethical than strategic, the paper offers a number of examples where companies achieve better results in the long term establishing the emphasis on service. Finally the paper shows the case of Grupo La Norteñita, which has developed members of one of the poorest indigenous communities in Mexico. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In a global context of constant changes and recurrent crises, firms have faced many problems and challenges. Some of them as a result of changes in the preferences and needs of consumers, others by their growth trajectory, not environmentally friendly practices and diminish of working conditions. Companies have been questioned about their behavior, not only by the workers, but also by civil society (through non-governmental organizations) who demand them actions in the field of Corporate Social responsibility (CSR). The CSR involves attention on aspects such as the care of the environment, ethical and respectful treatment in labour topics and social needs of the communities where the companies are located. Although all of these aspects are relevant, the study of CSR actions in labour topics is important because it shows the attention of enterprises in areas such as: wages, freedom of association, discrimination, child labour, slavery, among others. The objective of this paper is to analyze the actions of social responsibility in labour topics as a part of the strategy of companies to stay and grow in the market. The labour accreditation to the Federal Labor Association (FLA) process is analyzed as one of the CSR actions carried out some multinationals footwear to legitimize themselves and inform to society of their practices and forms of management. For this purpose we worked with reports of the Fair Labor Association (FLA), United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and MFC established in Mexico. Social responsibility and sustainable development are two issues that have gained prominence as a result of concerns about economic, social and environmental impact of different stakeholders who believe that doing business in an ethical manner contributes to sustainable growth in organizations. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the methodology and instruments used to assess the sustainability and social responsibility in organizations in order to propose a survey to evaluate business sustainability of small and medium enterprises in Mexico, because less than a half of them fewer survive in their first ten years of operation. Within the management of the security, the performance of the leadership has acquired importance in the implantation of the industrial safety systems. The leadership approach that practices the organizations impels to the workers to the participation in a better performance of the industrial safety handling. The leaders are promotional of the participation of the workers in its industrial integration or security system to the implantation of one new one. At the same time, system SSPA (Management system of Security and Environmental Protection) puts emphasis in which the workers can assume the leadership when taking responsibility of their actions within the industrial security. This paper show an cuasi-experimental design was realised, with the Test t was used to establish the difference of correlated groups and the test of variance analysis to see the differences between the centers. The displayed data suggest system SSPA, with respect to the application of the course of Promotional Leaders, gets their objective: the one to generate in the workers a cognitive direction simultaneously towards the specific industrial safety characterized by an improvement in the attitude towards its leaders of work and one more a more favorable attribution for these leaders. It is possible to think that the variation had to the presence of the course of Promotional Leaders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
