This paper analyzes the articulation of the three substantive axes of the university: teaching-research-linking, from the social responsibility approach to contribute to the economic development of the territories. It describes the methodological proposal of six stages and 23 activities for the collection of socio-economic information of vulnerable sectors involving teachers, students and local actors, with the objective of generating projects with a high social impact based on territorial diagnosis. The proposal was applied and validated in the Las Gilces commune of the city of Portoviejo and San Juan site of the city of Manta, Ecuador. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
