This paper is a review and reflection on the beginnings of Anthropology in Spain in the mid-twentieth century. In this reflexive analysis it is carried out in a review of a work by anthropologist Joan Prat Carós, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona (Spain). In this essay, the Spanish historical context of the time and the first authors who did anthropological work in Spain, as well as the germ of the consolidation of the discipline academically in that country, are specially addressed.
