Nasal tumors containing glial tissue are rare and since they are not really neoplasic growth, the term used today which best describes them is nasoglial heterotopia. An 8 day old female patient was brought in for consultation due to a nasal obstruction. Upon physical exploration, a mass was observed which completely occupied the left nostril. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed that a mass had not connected to the central nervous system. A biopsy with a diagnosis of nasoglial heterotopia was made. A total surgical resection was performed without complications. This case is remarkable because of the approximately 100 reported cases of intra-nasal nasoglial heterotopia, only four of those have been during the neonatal period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
