The article describes the case of a 64-year-old man with cerebellar affective cognitive syndrome (CACS) who experienced improvement with a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). CACS is characterized by cognitive and emotional alterations, and its pathophysiology is not well understood. The patient presented with cognitive and affective deficits, believed to be related to the functional disruption of cerebellar interconnections with areas of cerebral association. Both the clinical situation and functional images improved with SSRI treatment, suggesting the possibility of connectivity between the cerebellum and contralateral association cortices.
