This paper analyzes the Argentinian experiences of Youth Participatory Budgeting with a hypothesis according to which the conception of the device produces a displacement from the «participant» to the «beneficiary». For this purpose, we present the definition of PPJ and describe its functioning in Argentina; observe how it is in the type of projects arising from the participatory process that officials consider mostly that lies the «youth» feature of the PPJ; and we show that the PPJ can be considered a «participationrecognition» device. We conclude that the practices tend to confuse the decision-maker on the projects with the beneficiary of these projects, and we pose questions for future works. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
