This paper presents preliminary results of a wider investigation, about the influence of grade formation (according to type and advance), and ownership to an university institution, on the understanding of political topics, as well as their influence on civic formation, in a sample of 170 subjects of both sexes, of four different careers from Universidad Nacional de San Luis. The information was gathered through semi-structured surveys, during 2008, second semester. Some significant differences could be identified among sexes, careers and year attended. The importance of the formation function of the university, as a complement of the educating function, is redeemed, in order to improve the compression and intervention of the future graduates in their social context.
