Chronic liver disease is one of the main public health problems, with a global prevalence of approximately 45% and mainly affects patients with diabetes and obesity. The aim of the study is to identify liver tests as diagnostic aids for liver disease. Adults over 50 years of age in Latin America. Methodology The type of research is descriptive and systematic documentary, and for its implementation the bibliographic search of indexed scientific articles from reliable sources such as PubMed, Elsevier, Scielo, Redalyc, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic was selected. The results obtained at the time of this publication show that hepatitis is one of the most frequently occurring diseases in the studies investigated, and increased mortality from liver disease has also been observed worldwide. Evidence suggests that one of the most common risk factors for developing liver disease in older adults is a family history of hepatitis C, followed by sociodemographic factors.
