It consists of the search, compilation, organization, analysis and evaluation of information from various sources, such as books, scientific articles, specialized magazines, databases and other printed or digital materials and it is concluded that the implementation of the circular economy in production banana plantation not only represents an opportunity to reduce the environmental impact and improve the efficiency of the value chain, but also opens new business possibilities and generation of green employment. Within the Ecuadorian native vegetation, weeds have been the plant that at any given time can compete for water, nutrients, light, space and carbon dioxide (CO2) with a crop, affecting productivity in quantity. and quality. Thus, this research aims to analyze the efficiency of two chemical herbicides for weed control in banana crops and thus determine the effect caused by both Ametrine and Ammonium Glufosinate. Based on the analysis of results, through the combined use of the herbicides Ametrine and Glufosinate ammonium, a higher percentage of effectiveness was observed in the control of weeds in the plantain crop (Musa × paradisiaca). The current food industry uses Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system as tools to help provide and maintain safety and quality parameters within treatment facilities. A basic diagnosis was carried out in a farm in the banana sector, in relation to the GMP according to resolution 2674 of 2013, and the HACCP system to determine hazards, CCPs, CL and preventive measures in the harvest of the banana (Musa paradisiaca). A typical case of banana production was studied where each stage of the section was submitted and the principles of HACCP were applied. As main results, the weaknesses and virtues that the farm presented were determined in the GMP based on resolution 2674 of 2013 and in the HACCP plan the dangers, risks, limits and critical control points and corrective measures were analyzed for all the stages. Taking into consideration the diversity of cost models and their importance for microenterprises, the objective of this article is to propose some recommendations for the use of cost models in banana producing microenterprises. It was considered that the research is bibliographic in nature, because the compilation of information from sources such as: books, theses, manuals, among others, are aimed at supporting the stated objective, thus contributing to the knowledge, development and solution of problems linked to microenterprises. It is concluded that: cost models are important tools for banana producing microenterprises. If used correctly, they can help microbusinesses improve their efficiency, profitability and decision making. Cost models can help banana producing microenterprises identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability, as they can provide important information that they can use to make more informed decisions about production, resource management and finances. The baby banana is a crop of great global importance, in the Ecuadorian country it represents a large part of the exports and imports, the La Maná Canton belonging to the province of Cotopaxi is characterized by being a suitable subtropical area, in this area there are producers who continually They produce and sell their product, representing one of the main sectors of the Ecuadorian economy. Therefore, an investigation was carried out with the objective of identifying the current situation of the production and marketing processes of baby bananas in medium-sized producers. of the area, to have knowledge of the value, process and economy, in relation to this activity in terms of profitability and competitive strengthening in the market. Bibliographic research techniques and surveys were applied for a qualitative and quantitative approach. The sample for the population of 166 producers in the area for the surveys. The destination countries for baby bananas from Ecuador are mainly Belgium, the United States, Germany and Japan. The income is acceptable in terms of value per box and yield per ha of the crop, the best index being 40 boxes per ha, this analysis had the purpose of rigorously identifying the market study and production conditions. The high incidence of the boring nematode R. similis in banana cultivation has prompted the continuous use of nematicides, as the only effective solution, but not very sustainable in the face of the microbiota and soil fertility; As a biological alternative, the biocontrol activity of PGPRs has a suppressive effect against large nematological populations. As a study target, the effect of bacterial bioformulates on the control of R. similis and enhancer on the development of banana seedlings cultivar Williams was evaluated. Five study factors were used: Three bioformulates made with different components, which were inoculated in combination with 4 strains PGPRs Acinetobacter calcoaceticus BMR 2-12, Serratia marcescens PM 3-8, Pseudomonas protegens CHA0 and Enterobacter asburiae PM 3-14; Nematicide and Without PGPRs for their biocontrol and promoter evaluations in the presence of the nematode applied in initial populations between 10,000-15,000 plus four repopulations of 8,000-10,000 in banana seedlings. The biocontrol factor of Bioformulated-1 with CFU/mL loads of 9.70X109 obtained greater effectiveness in the presence of R. similis, reducing to 1, 000/100 g of root, counteracting its incidence of damage to 12.28 %. Likewise, the effect of the Bioformulated products improved various plant growth parameters, involving an increase in plant height with 42.74 and 42.42 cm (Bio-1 and 3); greater number of leaves of 5.80 and 5.40 (Bio-1 and 2); root length with 35.64 cm (Bio-3), revealing to have high benefits towards sustainable agriculture. In the different agricultural productions, food is managed, with supplements such as free grazing. Concentrated feeds offer nutritional needs 365 days a year, and this would not be achieved if the feed depended only on pastures. The objective was to determine the in situ ruminal kinetics and degradability of forage maize silage and green banana residue in different proportions in a base diet. The treatments were T1, corn silage 50% RB 0%; T2 corn silage 45% RB 5%; T3 corn silage 40% RB 10%; T4 corn silage 35% RB 15% and T5 corn silage 30% RB 20%. A DBCA was applied with five treatments and four repetitions for the differences in means, Tukey was used (P>0.05). The material to be ensiled was collected at 90 days of age (Vegetative Stage V8). Green banana residues, rice powder, soybean paste and mineral salts were used. The anaerobic fermentation process lasted 30 days, the samples were dried in a forced air oven at 65°C for 48 hours, and ground in a Thomas Willy mill with a 2 mm sieve. It was dried in an oven at 65 °C for 48 h. For DISMS and DISMO, a nylon bag was used in four castrated and rumen fistulated cattle. For each run, seven nylon bags 10 x 21 cm and 53 mm pore size were used, with 10 g of ground sample, with 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. The in situ digestibility of DM and OM increased with 20% inclusion of this residue with an effective degradation of 57.23 and 57.05% in a passage rate (k 0.02). The in situ ruminal degradability parameters of the dry and organic matter of forage maize silage with green banana residues, is a viable alternative using 20% due to the dynamics of ruminal degradation of DM and OM. Plantain, Cuerno enano variety, represents one of the varieties most consumed by the Salvadoran population. It is one of the essential sources of carbohydrates on the table. The color of the fruit is an important attribute that might determines alone the purchasing decision and could coincide with the degree of maturity of the fruits. Its organoleptic characteristics increase with its state of maturity when it is collected and separated from the plant. Unnatural ripening can result in dull and uneven softening, where the color varies according to that state of accelerated ripening, resulting in an unattractive product. For this reason, it is crucial to consider the natural maturation index, so that the fruit reaches a more suitable commercial presentation. That is, with shiny skin, firm pulp, good texture, and good flavor. The flavor could depend on the taste of the consumer, although the ripest bananas are less astringent and generally sweeter. The variation that the fruit presents, during storage, in physical parameters such as color, total solids, starch, and texture define maturity, and are responsible for the quality of the product that the consumer receives. The objective of this study is to investigate, through a bibliographic review, the physical properties of the plantain ripening process, from the harvest and post-harvest stages and the optimal cut of the bunch. The development and production of bananas are influenced by spatio-temporal edaphoclimatic conditions, which explains in a certain way the heterogeneous response that occurs on the farms, highlighting the need to generate information regarding the morphological characteristics of fruit for taking corrective actions that entail to increased productivity. The objective of this research was to carry out an analysis of production, taking into account the quantifiable variables through bunches profiling. 98,956 bunches recorded in a period of 108 weeks between 2021 and 2022 were analyzed in ten farms of two banana groups in Urabá-Antioquia, in the municipalities of Turbo, Apartadó and Carepa. Variables such as: cluster age, cluster weight, number of hands, basal-apical calibration, basal-apical length, removal of fingers and hands in the field. The R 4.2.1 software was used, with which a Spearman correlation, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was obtained and for comparison of means, a Kruskal post-hoc was done. Statistical differences were identified (p-value<2.2e-16) and the highest correlations were between age-weight (0.24), age-basal calibration (0.23) and number of hands-weight (0.45). These results indicate that harvest profiling is a practical and agile method that allows quantifying morphological variables of the bunches, making yield projections and adjusting agronomic management depending on the specifications of the marketer. The species Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi, race 2, which causes bacterial hereque or moko in musaceae, constitutes a taxonomically complex unit that exhibits a wide genetic, physiological, serological and host range diversity. For this reason, two strains (R4 and R5) selected for their pathogenicity were identified and characterized. For this, 27 samples from 10 symptomatic plants were processed, from which colonies of irregular shape, flat elevation, mucoid appearance, thick edges, cream color and reddish central pigmentation of different intensities were obtained, using selective culture media such as nutrient agar and tetrazolium. Microscopic observations determined the presence of pure colonies, characterized as Gram-negative with straight and curved rods. Pathogenicity tests performed on healthy plants inoculated with the two strains by infiltration resulted in the characteristic symptomatology of the disease. For molecular identification, the universal primers U1 and U2 were used, which amplified a 996 bp band that, when sequenced and compared with the GeneBank® database, revealed 80.58% identity and 92% coverage in isolate R4, and 81.74% identity and 82% coverage for isolate R5. In addition, the specific primers OLI1 and Y2 were used, which amplified a band of 288 bp, allowing the identification of the samples studied as R. solanacearum. These isolates can be used in different breeding programs to search for tolerance to this pathogen and to generate strategies for the integrated management of the disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) commonly present food hyperselectivity, which could lead to malnutrition. Furthermore, they are usually observed with eutrophic development, and a tendency to overweight or obesity, which might occur because of food preferences. Objectives: to evaluate nutritional status based on anthropometric measurements, and to determine the food intake frequency of Mexican children with ASD. Methods: a cross-sectional study that included 31 children of both sexes, from 5 to 10 years of age, with ASD, recruited for convenience at the Hospital del Niño DIF Hidalgo, Mexico. The variables considered were: weight, height, body mass index, muscle mass, fat mass, and frequency of food consumption. Results: the eutrophic nutritional status had a prevalence of 70.9 %, overweight of 12.9 % and obesity of 12.9 %. According to sex, women had significantly lower BMI and fat mass, but higher muscle mass than men. When comparing by diagnosis, there were no statistical differences. The most commonly consumed foods were tomato, carrot, banana, apple, corn tortilla, wheat flour bread, rice, beans, chicken, egg, whole milk, vegetable oil, gelatin and sweetened beverages. They mostly consumed plain water every day. Conclusions: children with ASD have a eutrophic nutritional status in addition to a significant tendency to overweight and obesity, probably related to a high consumption of sweetened beverages and jelly, as well as a low intake of vegetables. Banana cultivation is an important item in the Ecuadorian economy, so it is necessary to review the management that is being carried out in the productive units of the plantations, considering that the adequate and ecological management of the crop guarantees sustainable production. The objective of the research was to identify the limiting factors in the agroecological development of banana cultivation in the province of Guayas, Ecuador, applying a descriptive and analytical approach. The census was used as a technique and the questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The population and the sample consisted of 190 banana producers from the Lorenzo de1 Garaicoa parish. The results indicate that the limiting factors in the agroecological development of the banana crop were: lack of use of plant cover by the producers within the plantations, inappropriate use and high dependence on agrochemicals, lack of training on environmental issues, lack of protective equipment for workers. Rhynchophorus palmarum L. is an economically important beetle pest in coconut production in western Mexico. Its presence is closely linked to that crop, and adults have been also reported in ripe fruit of mango (Mangifera indica L.), avocado (Persea americana Mill.), and plantain (Musa spp.). This study analyzed the effectiveness of banana and plantain (Musa paradisiaca L.) as coagulants-flocculants in the treatment of raw water from the Guatapurí River (Cesar region, Colombia). The experimental design was completely randomized. Coagulating solutions with banana and plantain as organic solute were evaluated to treat raw water with different initial turbidity, analyzing their effect on the elimination of dissolved solids that provide turbidity, electrical conductivity and alkalinity. The results showed a significant turbidity removal up to 86.8% (banana) and 84.1% (plantain) when applying 10 ppm of coagulant for an initial turbidity of 250 NTU. When applying doses of 5, 20, and 75 ppm in water with an initial turbidity of 576 NTU, a significant elimination of turbidity was achieved (banana = 99.3, 98.5 and 98.5%; plantain = 99.3, 98.3 and 98.4%). The Mexican Journal of Phytopathology is the dissemination organ of the Mexican Phytopathology Society and publishes articles related to phytopathology. The air inlet temperature and feed flow rate of the spray drying were optimized to obtain a microencapsulated banana flavoring by means of a response surface factorial design, where an optimum was obtained with an air inlet temperature of 190 °C and a feed flow rate of 360 mL/h, with the use of gum arabic and maltodextrin (1:2 m/m) as encapsulating agents. According to the models 91.9% of yield was achieved; 3.8% humidity and 96.4% flavor retention. Banana cultivation (Musa AAA) in Ecuador has been an important item in terms of economic and social development. Ecological alternatives are required to counteract losses in post-harvest handling, therefore, the research consisted of evaluating the effects of T1: thiabendazole + imazalil; T2: imazalil; T3: thiabendazole; T4: lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), T5: citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), T6: cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), and T7: tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)), for the control of crown rot disease in banana fruit, determining the lower severity of the disease and the lower degree of maturation. The analysis of variance indicated that there were statistically significant differences (p<0.05) in T7 with respect to the other treatments, presenting a control of 140.9 of the area under the disease progress curve and the lowest maturation scale with 1 (green color), being the best treatment. The essential oil of tea tree, is ecological alternatives, was achieved in the control of crown rot in banana fruit, with less severity of the disease and lesser degree of maturity of the fruit. Introduction: Currently, between 15 and 45 % of the harvested products are lost, there is a diversity of post-harvest technologies for the preservation of perishable foods. The purpose of this research was to optimize and model the dehydration process of Musa paradisiaca through an artisanal solar dryer. For dehydration, 10 kg of green banana samples were obtained in the local market per week, longitudinal cuts of 0.45 ± 0.05cm were made to place in each of the trays of the solar dehydrator with an average weight of 1178.03 g per day. During 15 days, the initial mass of the fresh product was taken daily with an analytical balance, it was weighed in three intervals, between 8:30 am--5:00 pm, in order to determine the variation of its masses. The result indicates that there is a significant relationship between the variables with a confidence level of 95.0 %. The explained variation of the model is 99.4683 % of the variability in moisture loss as a function of the independent variables. The reliability of the model to describe the behavior of the solar dryer and the final state of the product is restricted to certain variables such as the humidity of the product, the temperature, the relative humidity of the indoor air, about which it is possible to be certain from the procedure. validation performed. To identify symbiosis between roots and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (HMA), methodologies have been reported with variations in concentrations of reagents, temperature, and time of exposure for staining, which does not always adjust to the need for specific cultures due to variation in root structures. The objective of this research was to standardize a methodology to identify mycorrhizal colonization in banana crops in an efficient way. The research was carried out during the second semester of 2022 in the municipality of Apartadó-Antioquia. Four treatments were established that consisted of the evaluation with and without mycorrhizal inoculation with two bleaching techniques each (with and without subjection to Bain Marie). A total of 108 plates (54/technique) were evaluated, where percentage of colonization, visibility, vesicles and arbuscules were identified. There was a complete randomized design. Data were analyzed with R Studio 2022.02 software. An ANAVA and means separations were obtained with a post-hoc analysis of Tukey and Kruskal-Wallis with a confidence level of 95%. Symbiosis was found in all cases, statistical differences were identified in percentage of colonization with 46.8% to 90.2%; arbuscules from 12.1 to 338.0 units and a visibility percentage of 100% in treatments subjected to a Bain Marie, highlighting the need for subjecting banana roots to heat to favor discoloration, staining and visibility due to their architecture. This article examines hoy globalization and violence have shaped workers`s organizations in the Urabá banana zone in northern Colombia from 1960s to the present. Early unions found allies in leftist political and guerrilla organizations. The banana growers relied on the neoliberal state and rightist paramilitaries to unleash an extraordinary wave of violence tu crush the leftist unions. They also wooed the right within the unions by pleading a set of common interests in reforming the global banana trade to the benefit of Colombian producers. By the 1990s, a newly right-dominated union in Urabá proved adept at labor-management collaboration in the interest of their joint regional stake in the industry, but it also promoted international labor unity aimed at pressuring banana transnationals to accept minimum labor standars. The Ecuadorian banana has been recognized at the global level for its quality and quantity produced, being one of the main products that the agricultural industry of this nation has contributed, for this reason, the aim of this research was to propose strategies to improve the international competitiveness of the banana sector in Colombia based on the example of Ecuador, considering that both countries share similar cultivation conditions, but differentiated processes with structures competitiviwith structures focused on regulation and quality. The methodology used was of a qualitative type, with a documentary method and with a descriptive and propositional scope, as it proposes, under the use of systemic competitiveness, strategies to position the Colombian banana in the international market. Live food produced by Biofloc was investigated in the rearing of Oreochromis aureus at the SL04LA04 Aquaculture Laboratory-Fisheries Department of the National University of Trujillo in 2021. Biofloc production was carried out in 1 m3 culture systems. Two treatments with different carbon sources T5-molasses and T6-banana flour and a nitrogen source with an aeration system under indoor conditions were used for the production of live food that was used in the rearing of tilapia. The live food evaluation consisted of the identification and quantification of phytoplankton and zooplankton composition. Phytoplankton was obtained with the predominance of Chlorella sp. and the zooplankton was formed by ciliates, rotifers, nematodes, oligochaetes and mosquito larvae. The purpose of this research was to formulate a nutritious hydrating drink from banana juice and pineapple peel maceration, for which the optimal amounts of the components were established through physicochemical and nutritional analysis of the drink, applying a design of Simplex-Centroid mixtures with 3 components per mixture in 13 runs for the choice of the best mixture, it is worth mentioning that the model used for all the parameters analyzed was linear because they presented an R squared greater than 0,95 and a p_value<0,05, The following proportions were obtained as an optimal mixture, 0,4758 of banana pseudostem juice, 0,324 2 of pineapple peel macerate and 0,2 of water, giving as values 5,25 of pH, 0,47 % of acidity, 13,62 % of brix, 2,52 % of protein, 6,04% fiber, 41,59 mg / 100 g of sodium and 168,25 mg / 100 g of potassium. Plantain is an important crop for Ecuador due to its contribution in socio-economy and food security of this country, supplying rich-energy food to most of the population; in addition, it is necessary to carry out fertilization management that allows a better use of this resource and increase the yield. Magnesium fertilization in 'Barraganete' (Musa AAB) plantain was evaluated in El Carmen, Manabí, Ecuador. The research was conducted in the Experimental Farm "Rio Suma", Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, Extension El Carmen, located at 260 masl, average temperature of 24 °C, annual rainfall of 2 684 mm. Six levels of MgO (0, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 kg-ha-1) were applied to know its effect on morpho-physiology and plant yield. A completely randomized block design with six treatments and three replications was used; the sowing was carried out with a distance of 2.50 m x 1.80 m (2 222 plants-ha-1), and the variables of vegetative growth were evaluated as repeated measures over time. The results demonstrated significant differences in all the morpho-physiological variables, which showed that fertilization with 30% MgO affected the growth of the plants; however, the reproductive variables were not affected by the applied doses; the 25 kg-ha-1 dose generated the best yields, agronomic efficiency and partial productivity factor. Background and aims: The excellent physical and chemical properties of Abacá and Japan papers make them one of the most used materials in restoration of cultural assets on paper. The objective of this work is to characterize the fibers that compose them and identify plant genera or species that were used in their manufacture. M&M: Fibers from samples of each paper and previously collected reference plant material were disintegrated. The diagnostic characters of the fibers were observed with a photomicroscope and photomicrographs were taken. Subsequently, the homologous characters were compared by relating the Abacá paper fiber samples with those of Musa sp. and the Japan paper samples with Broussonetia sp. and Euonymus sp. Results: There were coincidences between the diagnostic characters of the paper fibers of Abacá and Musa sp. Regarding the Japan paper samples, there were results consistent with Broussonetia sp. but not with Euonymus sp. Conclusions: According to the results observed between the Abacá paper fibers and the samples of the collected living material, we infer that the Abacá paper contains fibers of Musa sp. In the Japan paper samples, the similarities observed between the diagnostic characters of the fibers with respect to the reference plant samples indicate the presence of Broussonetia sp. fibers.
