- Abstract
Mastocytosis includes a wide spectrum of disorders characterized by mast cell hyperplasia in skin and other organs. Childhood mastocytosis usually has an onset before puberty and is attributed to c-kit alteration. Maculopapular cutaneous mastocytosis and solitary mastocytoma remain the most commonly forms of cutaneous mastocytosis. This paper reports a 15-month Hispanic male with congenital multiple (> 20) nodular mastocytomas. Anecdotal reports have described atypical clinical presentations of multiple mastocytomas; to our knowledge this is the first to report more than 20 nodular mastocytomas in a patient.
