The present study aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on alterations in cognitive functions in battered women. We selected an initial sample of 643 records obtained from the databases: Medline, ERIC, PsycInfo, CNAIL, Proquest and Scielo. Following the study selection procedure led to the retention of 12 articles on which the study has focused. The results of the qualitative synthesis indicate that attention, language, memory, visuospatial skills, executive function, motor speed and educational performance are altered in battered women, with greater evidence of deterioration in the areas of attention, memory and executive functions. The results of the meta-analysis suggest presence of brain damage in these women and a special affectation of the memory and executive functions. The aim of this study was to study the identity construction of inmate population from under Kelly's personal constructs theory. Through individualized interviews, a RepGrid, in which elements and constructs were planned in advance, was applied to 18 participants The selected elements denoted warmth and competence, according to the Stereotype Content Model. The analysis of the cognitive structure, conflicts and self-definition allowed identify relevant differences among inmates and in how their identities are construed throughout the process. These findings underscore the importance of using constructivist approaches to understand the life of prisoners as a means to improve interventions and social reintegration of this population. The aim of this study was to analyze factors associated with the quality of work life and their relationship to burnout among health care professionals. The sample consisted of 562 workers from the health sector, who were evaluated in relation to their stressors or job demands, perceived social support, burnout syndrome, various biopsychosocial health factors and their satisfaction with and perceived quality of working life. The instruments used were the MBI-GS, the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) and the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). The results showed high levels of perceived stress and the presence of burnout. There were also impacts on physical and psychological health. The analysis of variance revealed the existence of significant differences in variables such as professional category and length of service. Furthermore, regression analysis confirmed that the quality of working life experienced by medical personnel is the result of a balance between demands, resources and lack of burnout. These results support the need to intervene with these professionals to improve their health as well as the quality of services provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents the results obtained after developing and validating the Body Image Questionnaire with a sample of 395 persons belonging to clinical or general population. The instrument allows assessing probable eating disorders related to bulimia, anorexia, obesity, orthorexia, and bigorexia. All the factors and total scale showed good internal consistency. Factor analysis confirmed the multidimensionality of the scale and therefore, its construct validity. The results of the instrument implementation suggest that the existence of personal or family history related to these disorders or to anxiety or depression, increase the likelihood of developing eating disorders.
