Objective. The technical and economic optimum in hen egg production and weight was determined for 2022 based on two functions. Material and methods. Two production functions were used, with 72 birds distributed in 24 spaces. In the first function the dependent variable was the weight of the bird, and the independent variable was the feed consumption; In the second function, the dependent function was the weight of the egg and the independent was the consumption of food. Results. At the module level the technical optimum in egg production was 29.83 kg per module, 59.13 kilograms of feed and a profit of 839.75 pesos/week; the economic optimum was 29.82 kilograms of eggs, 59.04 kg/feed and a profit of 840.06 pesos per week. In egg weight, the technical optimum was 63.53 grams, 118.18 grams of feed and a profit of 1853 pesos per egg; the economic optimum was 63.44 grams, 117.23 grams of feed and a profit of 1858 pesos. Conclusion. The maximum production and weight of eggs does not mean the maximum profit in money for the poultry farmer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
