The article presents a study on congenital generalised lipodystrophy (CGL) as an unknown autosomal recessive disorder described by a marked deficiency of adipose tissue. It mentions that the disorder is related with early development of metabolic complications such as insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis, and hypertriglyceridemia. It notes that the complications of CGL will lead to fatal results as a consequence of early atherosclerosis, hepatic cirrhosis, and lipoatrophic diabetes.
