Introduction: The research has shown the relevance that acquires the tourism appreciation policy of the preserved nature in Argentina, in the sense that the external positioning of the country in the global tourism market starts to articulate from the quality and diversity of its protected areas. However, not all the conservation units attracted the same interest from the government at the time to implement the appreciation policies Objective: The study's aim is to analyze the role that is assumed by natural protected areas in the tourism instrumented policy from the diversity and complexity that they cover. This needs to go beyond the institutionalized policy in order to deepen the differential impact that acquires in each place once it is implemented. Methodology: Given the mixed nature of this study, corpus documental analysis, observation, and application of general interviews to key actors who participate in the process are remarked for the studio we resorted to the public policies analysis as a methodologic theoretical approach that proposes to contrast what is formulated with what is implemented, to finally approximate evaluations. Results: it is evidenced that diversity and equity criteria that lead to a promotion strategy (in order to set the country in the global market from the wide biodiversity of environments) are not applied in the tourism valorization policy, that concentrates the provision of infrastructure and tourism services in the traditional parks internationally acknowledged for their monumental landscapes and scenic beauties. Conclusions: The study proves that the tourism valuation policy far from conducting more equitable and decentralized tourism developments as it had been proposed caused a consolidation of the current tourism system. Moreover, in the conclusions, associated tensions and risks to such activation processes are identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Agroecological tourism emerges as a promising strategy for local development, promoting job creation and the construction of more resilient and sustainable communities. In this context, generating green job opportunities through the Finca El Coporo agroecological tourist route, in the rural settlement La Legua, San Silvestre Parish, Barinas Municipality, Venezuela, is presented as an opportunity to cause a positive impact in the region. To achieve this, an exhaustive diagnosis of the territory has been carried out, identifying its tourist potential and designing an attractive tourist product. The methodology used was based on participatory action research, actively involving the community in the route design process. In conclusion, the creation of green jobs through the agroecological tourism route will not only contribute to the economic development of the local community, but will also promote environmental conservation, the promotion of sustainable practices and the strengthening of the cultural identity of the region. It is important that policies and training programs are established to guarantee that the jobs created are of quality, inclusive and respectful of the environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TOURISM websites , *SUSTAINABLE tourism , *NATURAL resources , *LABOR market , *SUSTAINABLE development , *ECONOMIC expansion - Abstract
Tourism has an enormous capacity to generate economic growth and boost the labor market, but contributing to sustainable development is one of the main challenges today. The slow philosophy approach advocates slow tourism as a responsible and sustainable way of life and consumption, and the Spanish Cittaslow network has adopted this approach. The objective of this research is to analyze progress in compliance with the principles of slow tourism in the Spanish Cittaslow network. The applied methodology consists of a comparative analysis of the tourism offerings communicated on the official websites of the Spanish Cittaslow municipalities, in light of slow tourism principles. The findings show that the 12 municipalities that have registered in the Citta Slow network in Spain are relevant in terms of historical heritage and natural resources, but only 30% take advantage of the uniqueness of being a Cittaslow to systematically promote their tourism. Publication of its Cittaslow indicators could accelerate progress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

FOOD tourism , *WINE tourism , *CONNOTATION (Linguistics) , *FREE enterprise , *INTERNET publishing , *TOURISM websites , *MACHINE translating - Abstract
This article presents the results of the application of the automatic translator DeepL to the field of gastronomy and wine tourism. In today's world, where it is necessary to translate a large number of text in an ever shorter time, translations engines are a very useful tool that is increasingly used by professionals in the sector and by people in their daily lives. However, one of the limitations usually attributed to these engines is that they do not always achieve a valid translation of cultural elements or different linguistic connotations, especially when it comes to certain linguistic combinations. Through some examples taken from the official tourism portal of Spain, the performance of the DeepL engine, which is available on the market in its free version, is observed and evaluated. For our analysis we focus on the specific field of food and wine tourism and on the Spanish-Italian language combination, and we compare the Italian translation of some fragments published on the web with the translation made with DeepL, to highlight the differences and eventual inaccuracies after a human evaluation process. Globalization and the social, cultural and economic transformations that have occurred in recent times have generated changes in the migratory phenomenon, although the migrant is a vulnerable subject, it is also true that he becomes a productive actor and, a potential consumer of goods and services. For this reason, this study intends to carry out, under the hermeneutic documentary analysis and in light of recent experiences, to confront the cultural imaginary of the migrant and the marketing strategies that are aimed at the consumption of products and services. In this way, the different types and subjects of migration are explored, emphasizing the fundamental principles of marketing aimed at individuals with connections associated with their imaginary, emotions and differentiated feelings, about the lifestyles of the destination country. For this reason, the Marketing Mix strategy is proposed where the interdependence that occurs at the global level of the product: price, place and promotion is essential to reach the subject studied. According to the epistemological postulates of tourism, there are considerations in the production of knowledge from a human and functional vision that have not been put into practice when certain types of tourism are executed, this results in situations not oriented to the collective benefit of the impacted territory. In this context, this article aims to formulate a hermeneutic-evaluative-proposal reflection of the epistemology of tourism in the Caribbean region from an ethnotourism praxis. The development and interpretations of ideas in ethnotourism are progressive, they must be approached from a epistemological vision with a focus on tourists and native communities, since epistemic creation is successive and in crescendo, therefore, it requires the adaptation of the critical theory, under the approaches of phenomenology/schools of thought. Without the epistemology of tourism, there is a risk that ethnotourism practices in the Caribbean, which has been growing at an accelerated rate, become a threat to ecosystems and cultural constructs. SUPPLY & demand , *INFORMATION resources , *TOURISM , *TOURISTS , *TOURISM websites - Abstract
The aim of the work is to offer an evolutionary and updated analysis of the tourism reality of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (Spain). The proposed study is based on the use of the traditional quantitative variables (supply and demand) in their projection on a specific territorial space (Andalusia), of exceptional tourist relevance, but also of great complexity and diversity. It reflects on the value and representativeness of these variables for the territorial-tourist study, based on the official sources of information available, offering a proposal for specific indicators. For the case study, the important quantitative weight and general growth of tourism activity during the period analysed (2008-2022) is confirmed, which is accompanied by some certainly significant and interesting processes of change and restructuring, both in the internal conformation of supply and in certain patterns of demand behaviour. In the 20th century, there is a gradual emergence of the tourism phenomenon in Peru. The equation that enables this involves state intervention, as well as various actors and factors, including mindsets. From this multifactorial perspective, the primary objective of this research is to approach the understanding of the beginnings of tourism in Piura. The chronological delineation of the period under consideration corresponds to the publication of two traveler's guides that serve as conveyors of imaginaries about the Piura department, allowing us to contrast their continuities, changes, and permanence to the present. The first one corresponds to the «Guías Departamentales del Touring Club Peruano» (1928), and the second one, to the «Guía del Peregrino: Piura en 1960» (1960). This is a qualitative historical investigation involving the study of primary and secondary sources. The results indicate that the improvement of communication infrastructure and state support play a role in awakening the idea of tourism in the region. Both public and private actors converge in its development, and travelers' attention to socio-cultural aspects results in the construction of an image of Piura, translating into a tourism offer for a destination with intangible heritage richness, which is also associated with sun and beach tourism. This article explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector in the city of Malaga. The main objective of the study is to analyse the effects that the pandemic has had, as well as the responses that have been given to rebuild the tourism system in the city of Malaga. The study uses a qualitative and descriptive methodology, prioritising the search for primary sources (institutional) to measure the impact of the pandemic on tourism in Malaga. There are two main conclusions of the study: firstly, the Malaga tourism industry has shown such a level of dynamism and resilience that it has been able to initiate a slow but vigorous recovery of the tourism productive fabric; secondly, the actions of the public administrations have generally been diligent, efficient, rapid, and flexible, although the level of interpenetration and synergy between public administrations, tourism operators and residents is still insufficient. This article sets out to make a socio-critical analysis of how authenticity is construed and negotiated in the discourse of tourism, assuming the unstoppable rapprochement that has taken place towards the figure of the customer (Austin 2009) through an essential communicative phenomenon such as dialogicity. This discourse has progressively embodied a negotiated authenticity (Cohen 1988) that adjusts to social variables, as is the case with the COVID-19 pandemic, but which also includes cultural variables. We use 100 samples of dialogic oralisation in Spanish and English from various cybergenres (tourism websites and social networks) to support our argument. We aim to offer a contrastive view on the negotiation of discursive authenticity and of emotions as a central element in digital tourism, according to the tourism-society-language trinomial, which allows for a better understanding of the current social communicative trend with marketing purposes. The main objective of this paper is to analyse the literature that has studied the intervention of the influencer in tourist decision-making. Through a systematic review and content analysis of the scientific articles located in the databases Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer, Redalyc, Dialnet, Scielo and Emerald, both open and restricted access, in English and Spanish. Considering the first article related to the thematic located in the year 2003 to cover the first half of the year 2022. The results show the concepts, theoretical foundations and methodological approaches that have been developed in related research, as well as the present and future trends in the literature that have dealt with the influencer phenomenon in tourism. Each of the elements, distinguished as indispensable for the performance of influencer marketing in practice, are identified and explained. The main findings are discussed and a knowledge base is offered for researchers who wish to study the influencer phenomenon in more depth, which is considered useful for the design of tourism marketing strategies in organizations. Finally, the gaps in knowledge are presented, as well as the limitations detected in the research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CITIES & towns , *COMMUNITIES , *CRISIS communication , *SOCIAL networks , *COMMUNICATION strategies , *WEBSITES , *ONLINE social networks , *TOURISM websites , *LIBRARY websites , *TRAVEL websites - Abstract
Nowadays, cities are competing to become the global community’s choice in investment, trade, tourism, and partnerships. In this context, the redefinition of their communication strategy, especially at the digital level, has become an urgent challenge. On the other side, COVID-19 has directly impacted all facets of life and, particularly in the world of travel and tourism, has transformed into a communication crisis for cities. On this basis, this paper, using a methodology already proven on websites of different thematic areas, presents a descriptive, explanatory, and exploratory research on the websites of the 26 most visited cities in the world. Conceiving websites as the nerve center of cities communication strategy, the study has applied an analysis tool based on six variables (usability, interactivity, information offered, content typology and updating, social networks and transmedia content, and accessibility) and organized around 75 thematic categories. This made it possible to deepen among other topics, on how the city is shown through its digital channels, what and how it tells the story, and, very relevantly, how cities have tackled COVID-19 related information on their websites. The research highlights, among other aspects, a trend towards the mediatization of processes following routines typical of cybermedia, warning of the need to increase the role of websites as informative spaces on COVID-19. BIBLIOMETRICS , *SUSTAINABLE tourism , *EMPIRICAL research , *TOURISM research , *ENTREPRENEURSHIP , *TOURISM websites - Abstract
Although motivation is key to tourism entrepreneurship, there are no current studies that describe this field of research. The objective of this bibliometric analysis was to evaluate the performance of empirical research on the motivation of tourism entrepreneurship (MET), and to identify its evolution, structure of intellectual influences and areas of study, based on different metric techniques and scientific mapping. It was carried out based on 38 articles published between 1989 and 2022 in journals indexed to Scopus, using statistical methods, the VOSviewer software and the Tree of Science tool. The findings reveal reduced global coverage of research. There are seven research streams that give structure to the empirical research of the MET, where lifestyle has been a transversal theme and the motivation for sustainable tourism entrepreneurship emerges. The results suggest strengthening this area and providing support for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

REGIONAL development , *ECONOMIC development , *TOURISM , *VALUATION , *CENTRALITY , *TOURISTS , *TOURISM websites , *FOOD tourism - Abstract
Throughout this research, it seems essential to approach, from the perspective of tourism resources, indicators such as the "Water Footprint" whose territorial and regional projection facilitate the analysis and interpretation of inter- and intra-regional realities, whose valuation favors the study and interpretation of the existing differences, in the all spatial scales, approaching what the concept of sustainability entails, contributing to the subsequent decisionmaking, the basis for the valuation and use of tourist resources (in this way, its incorporation into the general theory of economic development is facilitated based on the verification of the centrality that these issues have acquired in the current approaches to territorial and regional development). In fact, from the scope of the so-called postmodernity that announces the end of the territory and the "no/place" also includes the denial of the idea of region, at a time when no subspace on the planet can be freed from the joint process of globalization and fragmentation, that is, individualization and regionalization (phenomena that mark spatial differences and imbalances, as shown in this article, a matter of notable importance when dealing with the "Water Footprint" in its relationship with resources and tourist activities). This paper analyzes music festivals as a territorial structuring tool as part of a larger reflection on the resilience of territories highly dependent on tourism. The results obtained from our study on the Empordà (Costa Brava), through in-depth interviews and a system of quantitative indicators, confirm that these cultural tourism products function as microclusters, creating and reinforcing stable relationships between local actors. When they become one more product in a multifunctional territory, they can contribute to making destinations and territories more resilient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since ancient history, human beings have traveled to other places in search of healing remedies to improve their health or find a cure for their disease. In the last decades, the number of people traveling in search of medical and wellness treatments and interventions has grown significantly, making health tourism an important sector of the global economy. Therefore, health tourism, due to its potential, represents a great opportunity for business, wealth, and employment development. Spain, thanks to its geographical location and a series of environmental, climatic, cultural and lifestyle characteristics, has become the second most visited country by tourists. Its wide range of health services and its availability of resources have made it one of the main tourist destinations for medical and/or wellness reasons. Despite the innumerable benefits of international health tourism, the development of this tourism typology can also have adverse effects. These disadvantages must be overcome through healthcare strategies - by the responsible governments and institutions - to guarantee and accredit the veracity and quality of these services in the visited countries. This would give greater safety and security to health tourists without affecting access and health care for residents in the receiving country. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study proposes to trace, analyze and describe the history of some of the most representative denominations of tourism typologies used in Spain since the beginning of the 20th century. This research is part of the research project El Léxico especializado del español contemporáneo (LEEC) undertaken by the Neolcyt team, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and formed by researchers from different Spanish universities, with the aim of developing materials that will serve for the creation of a historical dictionary of the technical and scientific lexicon that is currently lacking in the Spanish language. The COIL project carried out between the Minuto de Dios University Corporation UNIMINUTO Antioquia Chocó Bello campus (Colombia) and the University of Arts and Sciences of Chiapas, UNICACH (Mexico) during the COVID-19 pandemic, is the rapprochement between students of the programs in social communication-journalism and a degree in languages with a tourism focus. Through an inter-institutional relationship in the area of internationalization, interculturality, soft and digital skills are strengthened in an effort to harmonize their curricula. The resulting product is the creation of audiovisuals about linguistics, traditions and customs of their places of origin, within the framework of sociolinguistics and language subjects. HERITAGE tourism , *LITERATURE reviews , *CULTURAL property , *TOURISM websites , *NATURAL languages , *CONTENT analysis - Abstract
Hononymy can be problematic in the conceptualisation of cultural heritage, however, in this paper we work in a mixed way to ensure that on the theoretical as well as on the empirical level. In this paper we combine an extensive literature review on cultural heritage in the context of tourism with the treatment firstly resulting from natural language engineering and then from semantic content analysis, in order to check the existence of differences in communication on the one hand, and the complementarity of automatic coding methods and manual analysis on the other. The results, although neither conclusive nor generalisable, are a gateway to an in-depth study of the concept through the visitors' testimonies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Combining certain recreational activities with agricultural production contributes favorably to tourism; for this reason, this research analyzes the competitiveness of the tourist destination and the development of the Ecuadorian cocoa routes. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design is used to collect information on 9 of the 16 identified tourist routes in Ecuador, where cocoa varieties are grown, especially fine aroma cocoa with denomination of origin. The objective is to analyze the competitiveness of the tourist destination and the development of the Ecuadorian cocoa routes in relation to the factors that contribute to the development of a tourist activity: product, performance, future and support for community tourism and, in this way, to understand the opportunity for tourism and cocoa production growth to be sustainable. There is an imbalance between the evaluated variables that do not favor the destination to reach a level of competitiveness compared to others that offer the same or similar product; in addition, there is a lack of strategies, actions or a monitoring and control process, which does not contribute to tourism development.
