Order 22/2021, of November 11, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency, and Ecological Transition, regulates the hunting and control of wild boar in the Valencian Community. The regulation aims to increase the effectiveness of hunting and control actions to curb the species' population growth and reduce its impacts on human activities and the natural environment. Despite a decrease in the number of hunters, annual wild boar captures have increased by 116% in the last decade. It is estimated that 55% of the municipalities in the Valencian Community have an overabundance of wild boar, which compromises the conservation of other species and natural values. The order came into effect on November 20, 2021. [Extracted from the article]
