- Abstract
This study aimed to analyze virtualization technologies in computer systems of business organizations Zulia state, characterizing server virtualization, storage, networking and workstations; determining deployed applications, and the benefits of these technologies; based on the theory of authors like Doña et al. (2010), Fuertes (2008), Bonilla and Carrasco (2010), VMware, (2009), among others. The research was descriptive, not experimental. The population consisted of 30 experts from four business organizations. Used questionnaire of nineteen closed questions to collect data according to established indicators and statistical techniques were applied Kruskal-Wallis, frequency distribution and descriptive statistics to analyze the results in tables and graphs showing them. The research results indicated that companies use virtualization of servers, storage, networks and workstations in their computer systems, implemented on them a number of applications, where the most outstanding were: email, database management software, among others; accordingly, virtualization technologies have given them significant benefits, such as cost reduction, automation systems, scalability, saving space, reducing energy consumption, among others, at a high level for each system where implemented.
