Modern people have cut themselves off from the sacred and imaginative realties and live in secular and measurable time. They live in a world described by Max Weber in terms of disenchantment. In Muslim society, many Muslims are not detached from reality; rather, they live in an enchanted world, a world of spirits and forces. This creates tensions between secular liberal and traditional views of life. In this sense, the young people strives to take a certain place and role in that society; they try to know themselves in society, to determine their personalities’ limits, to find out ‘who they are, what they believe, what they value and connect, what their aim should be, in short, what their place in society is’. In this research, the identity, religious life and behavior of Muslim young people, religious resilience, and accordingly religious changes and transformations have been examined along with religious potential. To be resilient, a person must be able to change, and to adapt to new circumstances. Thus, the paper explores that the Turkish youth may have new religious perceptions and different identity structures depending on the color of the time. The effect of different cultures and social changes and the new social manifestations that develop depending on this situation can be effective on the way to the transformation of religious identities. İn the first step, this paper is exploring the questions: ‘how does religion affect young people's recognition and evaluation of themselves and life? The next step is to research how Muslim youth can help people experiencing resilience to be strengthened, and how they can be strengthened as they exercise a religiosity and their identity. The paper could help to find out how religious faith can have in enabling people to overcome difficulty by giving them faith to hold on to life and find meaning and purpose, as well as by providing a supportive network of people. The data were obtained from semi-structured interviews which were conducted with 30 students of Şırnak University in Turkey. İt includes participants’ accounts of their process of making meaning of the world, their evolving understanding, perceptions, experiences and identity situations. Nevertheless, literature survey method has chosen to support and enhance the quality of the research. The qualitative research method was adopted as an interpretative paradigm. The data shows that; the relationship between the individual and religious belief and identity motivation is related to inhomogeneous results and factors. Young people create their own identity, which is mixed, and bricolage. Each individual has different conceptions and different motivations regarding religious identity. In this sense, religiosity and identity is fed by different social and psychological dynamics; in general, it seems to be related to time, space and socialization processes.

Buna ilaveten Türkiye’den 1960’larda başlayan iş göçü nedeniyle Türk asıllı Müslüman nüfusu ve 2010 tarihli Bilim Konseyi’nin tavsiye kararı ve Federal Eğitim ve Araştırma Bakanlığı’nın finansal desteği ile açılan İslâm İlahiyat Merkezleri, tebliğimizde Almanya örnekliğini öne çıkarmaktadır. Almanya’da üç şekilde yapılanan bir İslâm İlahiyat eğitiminden bahsetmek mümkündür. İlki 1477 yılı gibi erken bir dönemde Tübingen Eberhard Karls Üniversitesi’nde Hristiyan teleolojisi bölümünün bir yan disiplini şeklinde kurulmuş bulunan Şark Enstitüsü yapılanmalarıdır. Oryantalist bakış açısı ile çalışmalar yapan Şarkiyat bölümleri yanında bugün 20’nin üzerinde üniversitede var olan “İslâm Bilimleri/Islamwissenschaft” bölümleri ve 2000’li yılların başında açılmaya başlayan hâlihazırda sayısı 7’yi bulan “İslâm İlahiyat Enstitüleri/Merkezleri” de üçüncü bir yapıdır. Tebliğimizde oryantalist bakış açısı ile şekillenen Şarkiyat bölümleri yerine İslâm Bilimleri bölümleri ve öncelikli olarak İslâm din dersi öğretmenleri ve din görevlisi yetiştirme amacı ile kurulan İslâm İlahiyatları üzerinde durulacaktır. İslâm Bilimleri, İslâmî Din Öğretimi, İslâmî Çalışmalar, İslâmî-dinî Çalışmalar, İslâmî Şark Çalışmaları, Asya Çalışmaları, Arap Çalışmaları, İran Çalışmaları, Türk Tarihi Çalışmaları, İslâm Dünyasının Dilleri ve Kültürleri, Dinî Bilimler şeklinde isimler alan farklı üniversite ve Yüksekokullarda lisans ve yüksek lisans programları bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca Modern İslâm Dünyası, Modern Çağda İslâm Dünyası, Arap-İslâm-Sami Çalışmaları, İslâm Dünyasının Çeşitliliği isimlerinde de yüksek lisans programları bulunmaktadır. Kuruluş amaçları, misyon ve müfredatlarına uygun olarak söz konusu fakültelerin İslâm İlahiyatına farklı katkılarının bulunacağı ve Türkiye’deki İlahiyat/İslâmî İlimler Fakülteleri ile karşılıklı ilişkilerinin olması gerektiği kabul edilmelidir. Tebliğimizde Almanya’daki İlahiyat eğitiminin İslâm Bilimleri ve İlahiyat Fakülteleri arasındaki farklar da dikkate alınarak Türkiye’deki İlahiyat eğitimine katkısı bağlamında ele alınması hedeflenmektedir. Akademisyen ve öğrencilerinin Müslüman olma şartının bulunmadığı İslâm Bilimleri Bölümlerine karşın İslâm İlahiyat Merkezleri din görevlisi/imam yetiştirme amaçlarına uygun olarak akademik kadrosunu oluştururken Almanya’da dinî cemaat niteliği taşıyan yapıların görüşlerini dikkate almaktadır. Buna ilaveten öğretmenlik eğitimi veren bölümlerinde “mezhebe bağlı” bir eğitim vurgulanırken İslâm İlahiyat bölümlerinde “mezhepler üstü” bir eğitim vurgusu programlarında dikkat çekmektedir. Yine İslâm İlahiyatlarında İslâm Bilimleri bölümlerinden farklı olarak tefsir, Sistematik teoloji (temel teoloji, dogmatik, ahlak/etik, İslâmî ekümenizm), Tarihsel teoloji (sünnet, kelâm, mistisizm, felsefe vb.), İslâm hukuku ve hukuk metodolojisi, Pratik ‘teoloji’ ve Din Eğitimi alanlarının varlığı Bilim Konseyi tavsiyesine dayalı olarak mevcuttur., Germany is one of the Western countries where undergraduate and graduate education is given at the university level in the field of Islamic Theology. Germany deserves special attention because of the more than five million Muslim population it hosts and because it has a well-established tradition in orientalist studies of Islam. In addition, the Muslim population of Turkish origin due to business immigration from Turkey that started in the 1960s, the recommendation of the Science Council in 2010, and the Islamic Theology Centers opened with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, highlight the example of Germany in our paper. It is possible to talk about an Islamic theological education in Germany that is structured in three ways. The first is the Oriental Institute, which was established as a sub-discipline of the Christian teleology department at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen as early as 1477. In addition to the Orientalist departments working with an orientalist perspective, the “Islamic Sciences/Islamwissenschaft” departments exist in more than 20 universities today and the “Islamic Theology Institutes/Centers,” which started to be opened in the early 2000s, are the third structure. In our paper, we will focus on Islamic Sciences departments instead of Orientalist departments, which are shaped with an orientalist perspective, and Islamic Theology, which was established primarily to train Islamic religion teachers and religious officials. There are Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees in different universities and colleges named Islamic Sciences, Islamic Religious Education, Islamic Studies, Islamic-Religious Studies, Islamic Oriental Studies, Asian Studies, Arabic Studies, Iranian Studies, Turkish History Studies, Languages and Cultures of the Islamic World, Religious Sciences. In addition, there are master's degree programs in the names of the Modern Islamic World, the Islamic World in the Modern Era, Arab-Islamic-Semitic Studies, and the Diversity of the Islamic World. It should be accepted that these faculties will have different contributions to Islamic Theology in accordance with their founding goals, mission, and curricula and that they should have mutual relations with the Faculties of Theology / Islamic Sciences in Turkey. Our communique aims to discuss the contribution of Theological education in Germany to Theological education in Turkey, taking into account the differences between the Faculties of Islamic Sciences and Theology. Despite the Islamic Sciences Departments, where academics and students do not have to be Muslim, Islamic Theology Centers take into account the views of religious communities in Germany while forming their academic staff in accordance with the aims of training religious officials/imams. In addition, while a “denominational” education is emphasized in the departments that provide teacher education, a “supra-sectarian” education emphasis in Islamic Theology departments draws attention to their programs. Again, in Islamic Theology, different from Islamic Sciences departments, tafsir, Systematic theology (basic theology, dogmatics, ethics/ethics, Islamic ecumenism), Historical theology (sunnah, kalam, mysticism, philosophy, etc.), Islamic law and legal methodology, Practical 'theology' and Religious Education fields exist based on Science Council recommendation.

30. TÜRKİYE'DE İLAHİYAT EĞİTİMİ: İSTİHDAM ALANI-PROGRAM İLİŞKİSİ ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME.

Organizational structure, operational mechanism, and employment conditions of Theology faculties have always been hotly debated topics in Turkish academic circles. Many employment-related issues, such as procedures for student acceptance, program outcomes, and broadening students' future job opportunities for graduates, are still significant today. These endless discussions have most negative effects on the motivation of every person in Theology faculties involved in the teaching and learning processes. Theology Faculties, which were established as the only higher religious education institutions in the Turkish Republic, have throughout their history been continually scrutinized by different views and ideologies exclusively for the purposes of their establishment. As a result of these considerations, the teaching content, and particularly the curriculum, has transformed and evolved concomitantly. Although Theology faculties, at the beginning of the Republican Era, were established with the specific aim of meeting the needs of the country for well-educated and equipped religious functionaries, they could survive only for nine years, between 1924 and 1933, and were closed without achieving this goal. Ideological debates on employment-related issues, such as for what purpose and in the frame of which responsibility would these university graduates to perform their future career duties, also played an important part in this turbulent process. Thus, it was not possible to actualize the first ascribed goal for their establishment. The second goal envisaged for the Theology faculties was to perform the activities related to religious education and other religious affairs based on an embracing and moderate religious discourse, with a certain reference to the Quran and Sunnah, to contribute to the unity and solidarity of the country. In this respect, one of the reasons why radical movements could not find any solid ground in Turkey and its surroundings, even during the times when religion-centred political and ideological developments intensified, is that Theology faculties introduced a reliable religious perception and adopted an embracing approach toward the different fragments of society. With their intense influence on society Theology faculties created a vacuum effect for the radicalized movements by preventing them from establishing permanent habitat in Turkish society. However, today it is clear that Theology faculties are far from attaining these goals. It is possible to claim that these faculties are much more inclined to concentrate on creating religious men rather than fulfilling their previously assigned responsibilities, training intellectuals professionalized in religious matters, which is articulated in the Unity of Education Law as "senior experts of religion". Examining the faculty curriculum over a certain period proves this alteration. Today, Theology faculties follow one single teaching program. In the academic year 1998-1999, the Department of Teacher Training for Primary Schools Religious Culture and Ethics Class, with the main purpose of graduating prospective school teachers, was established within Theology faculties' organizational structures. However, in the academic year 2014-2015 the programs ceased to accept students based on the decision of the Higher Council of Education, and in the academic year 2016-2017 it was de facto closed. Thus, the Theology program is the only program that accepts students at present. A faculty that runs one teaching program attracts an important question: how can Theology faculties train experts for the different fields required by the modern society and its changing perceptions on employment through one single program? This question constitutes the main research problem of this paper. Examining the curriculum of Theology faculties results in two main problem areas. First, there is the lack of a stable relationship between the purposes and the employment areas of the faculties. As the formal and non-formal religious institutions offer the main graduate job opportunities, the curriculum should be designed to include the courses that future employees would benefit from. However, the curriculum does not have a proportional distribution of classes in regards to their associated employment areas. The second problem is excessive numbers of classes. Although the numbers vary according to the faculty, the average number of classes is more than 70 during the four-year study period. It may be claimed that having a large number of classes is a parameter for the richness of the curriculum, yet, in practice this is under scrutiny. Benefiting from the curriculum at best cost is not possible without relating the teaching content to employment requirements and compartmentalization of the program if necessary. Also, compartmentalization will require readjustment of the curriculum for employment areas. Thus, in the process of reorganizing the teaching program and, correspondingly, its content, the most crucial matter that should be taken into consideration is to analyse the requests and expectations from the field. The aim of this paper is to identify the problems encountered in the religious and moral knowledge lessons taught for the rehabilitation of prisoners in penal institutions. The sample of this study consists of 17 voluntary prison preachers that were still serving the prison by year 2015. In this research, where the screening model is adopted, semi-structured interview technique is employed as a qualitative research technique in order to obtain the data. The content analysis is used in analyzing the data. Common points of the preachers' views are identified, categorized, and explained in such a way that reflects how many preachers give which answers. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that many problems related with Religious and Moral Knowledge courses; consequently, these problems affect the achievement of the objectives of religious education facilities negatively. It has also been revealed that the curriculum of religion and moral knowledge education is not appropriate for the prisoners' level; thus, the subject of this education needs to be updated as soon as possible; some prisons do not have classrooms dedicated to religion lessons due to the lack of physical capacity leading to the teaching of lessons in wards; the authorities of certain prisons remain insensitive to the improvement of physical conditions; and these problems have a negative impact on the professional motivation of preachers. The problems regarding the availability and procurement of Religion and Moral Knowledge course materials and resources that can be used for the teaching process thereof are encountered, besides the difficulty met by instructors in teaching methods are some of the conclusions reached in the study.
