objective: The Video Head Impulse Test (V-HIT) is an easy-to-use, objective test that allows the evaluation of the six semicircular canals (CSC) and the visualization of the saccades that occur during the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) testing. The aim of the study was to compare V-HIT data obtained from healthy individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 and to establish VOR normative data based on equally distributed gender group. Method: A hundred and thirty healthy people (65F-65E) between the ages of 18 and 30 got the V-HIT. The head was turned 30 degrees forward for horizontal channels and 30-45 degrees right-left to record a total of five answers in each vertical channel. All test participants were retested 30 minutes later for test reliability. We compared VOR gains across all channels, independent of gender. Results: A statistically significant difference was found in the VOR gains of all individuals in the anterior and posterior canals of the rightleft ear (p<0.05), and in the right anterior canal in women according to gender (p<0.05). A positive, high level correlation was obtained in all channels with the test retest results. Conclusions: In contrast to previous research, this one features a higher proportion of participants aged 18 to 30 and an even distribution of men and women throughout the age spectrum. The strong reliability correlation implies that the values can serve as a reference. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
