As mobile devices become more widespread, their use in educational so expands. It can be stated that mobile technologies provide uninterrupted and a flexible learning environment every where and every time, which contributes positively to this process. For these reasons, it is also possible to say that “Mobile Learning” is one of the most important learning models today and in the future. The goal in this learning model is to prepare young people suitably for the future. It has become apperant that with the development of individuals’ characteristics of being creative and original, the necessity to raise individuals who are adaptable to changing work and living conditions in the education and learning system. In addition to this, it is also necessary to pay attention to the mental well-being levels of the individuals which also covers psychological and subjective well being while using mobile technologies. Along with traditional learning methods, the aim of this study is to find out about the attitudes of the students involved in mobile learning based education model related to mobile learning and whether there is a possible relationship between these attitudes and mental well-being levels. Descriptive method was used in the study. In accordance with the aim of the study, it was conducted on 151 students studying at a university. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of technology based education on scientific process skills and academic achievements. The study was carried out during the spring semester of 2012-2013 academic year. Pre-Experimental design was used as a method. The sample group consisted of sixty four primary school students' of 8th grade. Thirty two of them were in the intervention group. Several instructional implications were designed with regard to the unit of Humans and Energy Relations" and these implementations lasted for four weeks in both intervention and control group. Students who took part in the intervention group were given some extra technology supported activities as well as currently prevailing science education programme. An academic achievement test with 39 questions and scientific process skills test with 26 questions were used in order to collect data. According to the results, it was concluded that there were some positive effects of technology based education on students' scientific process skills and academic achievements. Additionally, enriched activities were more effective than those activities which already took part in the science education programme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study is to report on the educational and instructional programmes of the librarianship offered by Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Zoology and Botanics Institutes (Biology Institute) following the 1933 University Reform. In the course of history explanations, the contributions of exiledl German and Austrian scientists as well as the Turkish scientists, and also librarians who were involved in the undertaking were also mentioned. The purpose of this paper is to explore how the social studies teacher candidates' describe computer supported education and their perception about technology integration in their field of study which is classroom teaching in this case. Within its scope, this study examined whether the teacher candidates view technology as tool or instructional strategy in education. The study was conducted among the first year students in college of education Social Studies Education program in Erciyes University of Turkey. The study is based on both quantitative and qualitative data. For the quantitative data Likert-scale was used and for the qualitative data pattern-matching was employed. The primary findings showed that students defined technology supported education in different views and their experiences in technology based classrooms seems affected their perception about technology integration in their future classrooms. The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of primary school teachers on school development plan and ensuring the effectiveness of school development plan. Qualitative techniques were used in this study. The participants of the study consisted of 36 primary school teachers working in Adana, Bursa and Kilis provinces. Interview form was used while collecting data. Content and descriptive analysis techniques and numerical analysis of qualitative data were used to analyze the data. According to the results, teachers think that the primary subject which must be included in the school development plan is educational process and the primary function of the school development plan is school development. Teachers think that fi rst of all, discharging the responsibilities is needed to make effective school development plan. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the station technique on primary school students' creative writing ability and its attitudinal effects on Turkish lessons. For his purpose "Pre-test Post-Test research design with Control Group" has been designed. The Station technique was used in the experimental group whereas the traditional method was applied in the control group. The research sample consisted 47 students primary school at the 6th grade in Erzurum providence. The research data collected with "Writing Expression Evaluation Form" developed by researchers and "Attitude Scale for Turkish Lesson" developed by MEB (EARGED). The research data were analyzed with SPSS version 11.5 program with U and Z tests. At the end of study , it has been found that the station technique is more effective than the traditional teaching method on creative writing ability and its attitudinal effects on Turkish lesson. Depending on increasing computer's potential to include different types of information, multimedia environments that make use of at least two different environments like text, sound, video and animation can be developed. These environments have been started to be used in all educational processes including instructional evaluation because they give opportunities to present information in different forms. This study aims to explore primary school teachers' qualifications in terms of use of educational technology trough certain variables. The setting was the primary school Level I teachers in Erzurum, in the 2008-2009 education year. The participants were the primary school teachers in Erzurum who were working at 407 teachers in 46 schools two of which were private schools. The data were collected by means of The Education Technologies Questionnaire. The questionnaire was adapted from Social Learning Projects at Ohio University to Turkish Education System. It was confirmed by Isman (2002) in terms of reliability and validity. The results show that there are significant differences in primary school teachers' use of technology according to their gender, age, professional level, educational level, the type of their institute and the number of the students. In our country, it has been progressively emerged some changes in Turkish language teaching as mother tongue teaching in primary and higher education. It has been also observed not only positive developments but also negative effects as a result of these changes known as constructivist approach in primary education and restructuring in higher education. These changes have made it necessary to configure the structure as appropriate in modern requirements and to review the situation in Turkish teaching profession and Turkish education departments. In our study, the problems and solutions occurring as a result of the changes in primary school Turkish lessons and Turkish education departments have been focused on. The most essential element of education is teacher. In this respect; the quality of a teacher affects the quality of education in general as well only .the teachers; who had an education appropriate for the target population, had an adequate knowledge of the area, gained occupational formation and higher level of general information can bring success for the system. The available system unfortunately doesn't let us to educate Turkish teachers who had an appropriate education for target population. However there are different targets populations in Turkish education, these differences aren't considered. By considering the differences of age groups, together with The Major Turkish Education Disciplinary Department, The Primary Turkish Education Disciplinary Department should be established for pre-school and primary educations. And also by considering foreigners, the ones with Turkish origins and Turkish bilingual and two cultured children, The Major Turkish Education Disciplinary Department for foreigners should be formed as well. The presence and the continuity of a state are primarily dependent on the protection of national unity and solidarity. In order to achieve this goal, a state needs to teach individuals what national unity is and make them gain and develop national consciousness. The national consciousness can be gained through education. In order to prevent cultural erosion, one should make sure that individuals have cultural consciousness. In order to make sure individuals gain cultural consciousness, language and literature should be taught and acquired in depth. When the last version of second level Turkish education in primary school examined, one can see that it seems not possible to get this consciousness to teacher candidates and also it is not possible to make sure them to learn niceties of Turkish language. Therefore, it seems not possible to reach the general goals in second article of National Education fundamental Act with this education curriculum. The general goals of National Education fundamental Act are to educate all Turkish individuals to be faithful to Ataturk revolution and principles; loyal to Ataturk nationalism, adoption, protection and improvement of cultural, moral, humanistic values of Turkish nation; to love and enrich families, motherland, people; to know mission and responsibility, liability towards Republic of Turkey which is democratic, secular and social juristic. The aim of this study is to get primary school teachers' views about the assessment processes of primary education curriculums. The study design is descriptive research model. The data was collected via puplic surveys. The sample of the study is composed of 511 primary school teachers working in 45 different schools in the city center, in towns and in villages in 2006-2007 education season. In the data analysis the data, frequency and percent analysis techniques and t-test analysis techniques were used. The results of the study show that primary school teachers think positive about the assessment processes at primary education curriculums, but they encounter some problems. The biggest problems arised in the process of assessment are crowded classes, economic difficulties, material difficulties and difficulty in having a contact with parents. Objective: This research was conducted to analyze the relation of the nursing students' self esteem, and assertiveness with sociodemographic status. Method: This determining research was conducted on 246 students at the Faculty of Health Sciences in November 2008. As a method of gathering information in the determining research; Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory [SEI], Rathus Assertiveness Schedule [RAS] and to determine sociographic characteristics of the students, a survey form of 17 questions were used. In the evaluation process of the gathered data; percentage, the T-Test and one way variance analysis were used. Findings: The average SEI points of students was stated as [69.54±14.67] and average RAS points of the students was stated as [25.10±19.69]. In addition, it was found that %54.9 of the students had high self esteem and 76.4% of the students was assertive. With the correlation analysis performed a positive relation between self-esteem and the level of assertiveness was stated [r=0.402, p<0.01]. Discussion and Conclusion: Terms of self-esteem and assertiveness are important for a person's self-development. Therefore, it can be offered that the education system must have the features of keeping the student active, positively affecting the student's self-esteem, and the curriculums must include assertiveness education.
