Firstly some general definitions, such as partially ordered set, directed complete partially ordered set, Scott topology, Isbell topology on continuous function spaces, are given in this thesis. Also some new examples for Isbell topology are written.In the first section of thesis, the aim of this thesis and summary of references for Isbell topology and soft sets is given. In the second section fundamental concepts for this thesis are written, in the third section Scott topology which is defined on directed complete partially ordered sets, and Isbell topology, which is defined on function spaces, are explained. At the forth section,by defining some necessary soft ordered structures, such as directed soft set, complete lattice, upper soft set, soft Scott topology is formed. 45

Yüksek Lisans Tezi Bu çalışmada topolojik gruplar üzerine çalışılmak amaçlanmıştır. I. Bölümde, topolojik grup kavramı verilmiş ve bu gruplarla ilgili teoriler incelenmiştir. II. Bölümde, önce sınırlı topolojik gruplar çalışılmıştır. II. Bölümün ikinci kısmında mixed topolojik gruplarla ilgili belirli teoriler ve sonular verilmiştir. In Chapter I, the concept of topological groups are given and the general teories about these groups are investigated. In Chapter II, firstly bounded topological groups are studied. In the second part of Chapter II, certain theories and corollaries relative to mixed topological groups are given. In particularly, mixed topologies on subspaces and product spaces are determined.

In this thesis the first, basic definitions, theorems are mentioned and explained with examples. Subsequently, defined on topological spaces, all separation axioms were examined their relations with each other, and were shown in the figure. In addition, whether all topological spaces obtained on one, two and three element sets provide separation axioms or not were shown in a chart, and these relevant examples are given in. Finally, about topological groups; definition, theorem and by examples, separation axioms focused on use in topological groups. 150

Bu tezde esas amaç köşeleri genişletilmiş rasyonel sayılar kümesinde olan minimal uzunluklu eğrileri veren sürekli kesirleri incelemek ve bu köşeleri sağlayan Möbiüs grup elemanlarının karakteri hakkında esaslı bilgi vermektir. Bu çalışma ile genel amaç ayrık grupların simgelerini bulma problemine, alt yörüngesel graflardaki devre uzunlukları ile çözüm bulmaktır.Birinci bölümde konu ile ilgili genel bilgilerden bahsedilerek literatürdeki bazı önemli teorem ve sonuçların ispatları genişletilerek verilmiştir. General aim with the study is to find solution to finding problem of signatures of discrete groups with circuit lengths on suborbital graphs.In the first chapter, general informations about the subject were discussed and proofs of some important theorems and conclusions in the literature were given detailed. (X,S,?) ölçü uzayı ve p ? ???? + olmak üzere Lp (X,S,?) uzayı, Xüzerinde ölçülebilir, ? ölçümüne göre p inci kuvveti integrallenebilen ve hemenhemen her yerde eşit olan fonksiyonların denklik sınıflarının uzayıdır. L? (X,S,?) iseX üzerinde esasen sınırlı olan fonksiyonların uzayıdır. This collected thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, it is remineded the maindefinitions and theorems which are used throught this thesis.In the second part, Lebesgue spaces, generally called Lp spaces, are studied. Let(X,S,?) be a measure space and p ? ? + , Lp(X,S,?) is the space of equivalenceclasses of the measurable functions on X whose p -th powers are integrable withrespect to ? . L?(X,S,?) is the space of essentially bounded functions on X .Firstly, the main and important inequalities such as Young, Hölder, Minkowski whichare used in the main properties of Lp spaces are investigated. It is denoted that Lpspaces are Banach space for p?[1,?] and finally the dual space of Lp spaces arestudied and it is obtained that Lp spaces are reflexive for p?(1,?). Let G be a locallycompact Abelian group, the study is consantrated on Lp(G) spaces and it is proved thatit can be approach to these spaces by the continuous and compact support functions.Moreover, p =1, it is shown that L1 (G) is a commutative Banach algebra with respectto convolution and it has an approximate identity with compact support.In the third part, the multipliers space of Lp (G) spaces is characterized. Firstly, thespace, denoted by ( ) qpA G , is defined and the main properties are obtained of this space.Finally, it is proved that the multipliers space from Lp (G) to Lq(G) is isometricallyisomorphic to the dual space of ( ) qpA G . Consequently, the relation with the presentcorollaries is investigated. 98

ÖZETHAaR İNTEGRALİ Yerel kompakt uzaylar üzerinde bir integral, kompakt destekli fonksiyonların uzayı üzerinde tanımlı pozitif fonksiyoneller yardımıyla tanımlanabilir. Yerel kompakt gruplarda ise bir fonksiyonel yardımıyla tanımlanan integralin invaryant olması beklenir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı yerel kompakt gruplar üzerinde tanımlı sol invaryant bir integralin varlığını göstermektir. Bölüm I de, invaryant integralin varlık ve teklik probleminin tarihsel gelişimi hakkında bilgi verildi. Bölüm II de, Temel Bilgiler başlığı altında çalışma süresince kullanılan temel kavramların tanımları verildi. Haar integralinin yerel kompakt gruplar üzerinde tanımlandığından bazı soyut uzay tanımları verildi; Metrik uzay, topolojik uzay, kompakt ve yerel kompakt uzaylar, lineer vektör uzayları ve Banach uzayları, iç çarpım uzayı. Yine bu başlık altında çalışmanın en temel teoremlerinden biri olan Urysohn Lemma’sının yerel kompakt uzaylara ilişkin sonucu bir teoremle verildi. Son olarak ölçü kavramı ve cebir, σ- cebir ve Borel cebiri tanımları da yine bu başlık altında verildi. Teorik Yaklaşımlar başlığı altında ilk olarak yerel kompakt uzaylar üzerinde tanımlı bir fonksiyonel ile bir integral arasındaki ilişkiden bahsedildi. Daha sonra yerel kompakt grup üzerinde integral tanımı verildi ve bu integralin varlığını göstermek için kullanılan yöntem tanıtıldı. ABSTRACTTHE HAAR INTEGRAL On a local compact space, an integral can be associated to a functional on Cc(X), the space of functions with compact support. If the local compact space is a local compact group, then one can ask for the existence of an integral which is invariant under left translation. Thus the main aim of this thesis is to show the existence of an invariant integral on local compact groups. In Chapter I, historical development of the problem of the existence and uniqueness of invariant integral are presented. In Chapter II, under the title of General Background, information is given about some abstract spaces; Metric spaces, topological spaces, vector spaces, Banach spaces, pre- Hilbert and Hilbert spaces. In addition, a result from Urysohn’s lemma is obtained for local compact spaces. Finally, some notions on measures are presented. Under the title of Theorical Approach, the relation between a functional on Cc(X) and an integral on X is presented. An integral on local compact groups and the method used to prove the existence of integral are described. In Chapter III, the construction of integral on local compact groups with the aid of functional on Cc(X) is described. Under the title of Topological Groups, a topological group and its characteristics are described. Under the title of the Haar Integral, the existence and uniqueness of invariant integral on local compact groups are shown. The definitions of convolution of two functions, modular function, involution and the relation between convolution and involution are also explained. Finally, under the title of Fourier Series on Compact Groups, as an application of Haar integral, the calculation of Fourier series of a function on a compact group is demonstrated.

Bir topolojik grup, grup işlemleri sürekli olacak şekilde üzerinde bir topoloji bulunan bir gruptur. Topolojik grup kavramı hem topolojik yapıya hem de cebirsel yapıya sahip olmasından önemlidir. A continuous function p: X ->X satisfying some additional conditions is called covering map, X covering space or briefly /X,p) is called a cover of X. A topological group is a group, which has a topology such that group operations are continuous. Since a topological group has both algebraic and topological structures it is important. A cover of a topological group is defined similar to that of a topological space. Let X be a topological group satisfying some conditions with identity element e e X and Kx(X,e) be the fundamental group of X at eeX. Let G be a subgroup of 7Cx{X,e). Then a cover /X,p) of Xis obtained from the subgroup G. Here note that X is a topological group and p: X ->Jf is a continuous homomorphism of topological groups. If G = {l} is singleton group, then /Xa,p) becomes the universal cover (simply connected cover) of X which is very important in Algebraic topology. In this thesis, in Chapter 1 some concepts used in further chapters are given. In Chapter 2 covering spaces of topological spaces and some properties of covering spaces have been searched. In Chapter 3 covers of topological groups have been searched and the details of the proof of the problem explained above have been given. 44

IV ÖZET Değişmeli Cebirler Üzerinde Profinite Çaprazlanmış Modüller üzerine ha zırlanan bu yüksek lisans tezi, dört bölümden oluşmaktadır, ilk bölümde, bu çalışmamızda sıkça kullandığımız, topolojik grup, topolojik halka, topolojik modül ve topolojik cebir teorisinin bazı temel kavramlarına yer verilmiştir, ikinci bölümde profinite grupların tanımında önemli yer teşkil eden invers lim itlere yer verilmiş ve üçüncü bölümde profinite grup halka ve cebir yapısı ince lenmiştir. Son bölümde ise değişmeli cebirler üzerinde profinite çaprazlanmış modüllerle ilgili bazı tanım ve temel özelliklere yer verilmiştir. SUMMARY This master thesis on the Profinite crossed modules on the commutative algebras consists of four chapters. In the first chapter we recall some basic properties about the theory of topological groups, topological rings, topolog ical modules and topological algebras. In the following second chapter the inverse limits which play an important role in definition of profinite groups are given. In the third chapter definitions and basic proporties of profinite groups, rings, modules and algebras are given. Finally in the last chapter some definitions and basic properties of profinites crossed modules on the commutative algebras are given. 60

Beşinci bölümde, tezde elde edilen sonuçlar verilmiştir., The aim of this work is to give the extended Hecke groups and group structure of the some of its subgroups. This work consists of five chapters. In the first chapter an introduction to the topic is made. In the second chapter, basic definitions, notations and theorems needed later during the work are given. In the third chapter, Hecke groups are introduced and general properties of them are given. Hecke groups and their fundamental regions are defined. Also, even subgroups, commutator subgroups, power subgroups, congruence subgroups and principal congruence subgroups are introduced and information about the group structure of these are given. The fourth chapter is the main part of the work. Firstly, the extension of the Hecke groups by the reflection R(z) = - are obtained. Later, the extended Hecke groups are defined and their fundamental region and some of their properties are given. Also even subgroups, commutator subgroups, power subgroups, congruence subgroups and principal congruence subgroups are introduced and information about the group structure of these are given. In the fifth chapter is given obtained results.

ÖZET Bu tezde, grup dönüşümleri süreklilik gösteren bir topoloji ile verilen cebirsel bir grup olan topolojik gruplar, yan topolojik gruplar ve topolojik gruplar olmak üzere iki ana başlık altında incelenmiştir. Ayrıca her topolojik grubun bir yarıtopolojik grup olduğu fakat tersinin doğru olmadığı gösterilmiştir. 11 SUMMARY In the thesis, topological groups which has an algebraic group endowed with a topology so that the group operations have continuous in all variables together have been examined under the two main sections as semitopological groups and topological groups. Furthermore, It has been shown that, a topological group has a semitopological group, though the converse is not so. 50

Modüler grubun üst yan düzlemdeki hareketlerini çalışma isteği ve Riemann yüzeyleri ile ilgisi bu grubun diğer Fuchs gruplarına göre daha fazla çalışılmasına neden olmuştur. Modüler grubun kendisinin yanı sıra çeşitli seviyelerden temel denklik alt grupları da çalışmalarda kullanılmıştır. Çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm çalışmanın hazırlık kısmını oluşturmaktadır ve çalışma boyunca gereksinim duyulacak kavramlar ve bazı temel teoremler verilmiştir. Son bölümde modüler grubun normal alt grupları cins, indeks, seviye ve parabolik sınıf sayışma göre tablolar halinde verildi., The investigation of modular group, which is the most important of Fuchsian groups, has begun with the exploration of elliptic functions by Abel, Gauss and Jacobi in 1820s. The desire to work on the act of modular group on the upper half plane and its relevance with Riemann surfaces have caused this group to be studied more extensively than other Fuchsian groups. The principal congruence subgroups of various levels are also used in studies as well as modular group itself. The work consists of four chapters. The first chapter is the preliminary chapter containing all notions and theorems needed later during the work. The equivalence of several definitions of discrete groups given in the literature is shown. The fundamental properties of modular group and free group and free product concepts are especially considered. Furthermore, generators of some subgroups of the modular group having finite index are obtained. The second and the third chapter are the main part of the work. The structure of power subgroups and free nomal subgroups are given in the second chapter. The structure of principal congruence subgroups and some normal subgroups of the modular group which are not congruence subgroups are given in the third chapter. Finally, the normal subgroups of modular group are represented in tables with respect to genus, index, level and parabolic class number.

ÖZET Bu çalışma Topolojik Permütasyon gruplar üzerinde yapılmıştır. Her grup üzerinde tanımlanan diskre ve indiskre topolojilere göre birer topolojik grupturlar. Fakat herhangi bir grup üzerinde tanımlanan bir topolojiye göre topolojik grup olması gerekmez. Bu tezde, permütasyon grupları üzerinde tanımlanan topoloji ile grup yapısının uyuşup uyuşmadığı, araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde çalışma hakkında genel bilgi verilmiş, ikinci bölümde tezde geçen temel tanım ve teoremlere yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Sn permütasyon grubu ve Sn nin bölüm grubunun bir topolojik grup olduğu gösterilmiştir. Buna ek olarak S` topolojik grubunun herhangi bir topolojik uzay üzerinde sürekli veya tam sürekli etkimesi incelendi. Son bölümde sonsuz permütasyon grubu S nin, e nin komşuluklar ailesi tarafından doğrulan topolojiye göre, topolojik grup olmadığı gösterildi. SUMMARY This work is about topological permutation groups. Each group with the discrete topology or indiscrete topology is a topogical group. But for any group with any topology on it may not be a topological group. In this study, it is investigated whether the topology on a permutation group is compatible with the group structure or not. This work consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, some general information about this thesis is given. In the second chapter, basic definitions and theorems are stated. In the third chapter, it is shown that permutation group Sn as well as its quotient group is a topological group. Furthermore, some continuously or proper continuously acting of Sn on a topological space are investigated. In the last chapter, it is established that infinite permutation group S with the topology induced from the neighbourhood family of the identity element e of S is not a topological group. 70

Ayrıca, Topolojik Gruplar hakkında çalışmamız için gerekli tanım ve teoremleri de verdik.İkinci bölümde, Topolojik Grup ve ©-süreklilik kavram larından yararlanarak elde ettiğimiz ve 0-topolojik grup olarak adlandırdığımız yeni bir kavram elde ettik. 2.2.1.
