Amaç: Somatoform bozukluklar ve Fibromyalji Sendromu (FMS) ağrı belirtileriyle seyreden hastalıklar arasındadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı FMS hastaları ve somatoform bozukluk hastalarının kişilik özelliklerinin her iki grup arasında ve sağlıklı kontrollerle karşılaştırılmasıdır.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 2010-2011 yılları arasında, Düzce Üniversitesi Psikiyatri Polikliniği’ne başvuran ve Mental Hastalıkların Tanısal Sınıflaması Rehberi (DSM IV-TR) kriterlerine göre somatoform bozuklukların alt gruplarından birisi için tanı almış hastalar ile Fizik Tedavi ve Rehabilitasyon Polikliniği’ne başvuran ve FMS tanısı ile takip edilen hastalar çalışma grubu olarak dahil edilmiştir. DSM IV-TR’ye göre hiçbir psikiyatrik hastalığı ve ilaveten FMS tanısı da bulunmayan sağlıklı bireyler ise kontrol grubunu oluşturdu. Katılımcıların kişilik özellikleri Hacettepe Kişilik Envanteri (HKE) ile değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Çalışma sonucunda somatoform bozukluk alt grupları ve FMS hastalarının HKE alt ölçeklerinden kişisel uyum (KU) puanlarının, sağlıklı kontrol grubundan anlamlı düzeyde daha düşük olduğu bulundu (p0.05). KU ve SU ölçek puanlarının toplanmasıyla elde edilen genel uyum (GU) puanına göre ise; somatoform bozukluk alt grupları ve FMS grubunda yer alan hastaların genel uyumları; kontrol grubuna göre istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı düzeyde düşüktü (p, Aim: Somatoform disorders and fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) are among the illnesses progressing through signs of pain. The aim of this study is to compare personality characteristics in patients with FMS and Somatoform Disorder with each other’s and healthy controls.Material and Methods: The patients who applied to Duzce University Psychiatry Policlinic between 2010-2011 and diagnosed with one of the subgroups of somatoform disorders according to the criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV-TR), and who applied to the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation policlinic and followed up with FMS diagnosis, were included in this study as study group. Healthy individuals who have no psychiatric disorders according to DSM IV-TR, and also have no FMS diagnosis were constituted the control group. Personality characteristics of the participants were evaluated by Hacettepe Personality Inventory (HKE).Results: As a result of the study, personal compliance (PC) scores which is subscale of HKE scores of somatoform disorder subgroups and FMS patients, were found significantly lower than the healthy control group (p0.05).
