- Abstract
The change in average volume temperature of the product (on the example of meat) when it is cooled is considered in the paper. Various calculation methods are used. An important value when calculating the amount of heat (heat flux) released from the product when it is cooled is the average volume of temperature. The easiest way to determine it is to measure an average of the arithmetic mean of surface temperature and product center. There is also a series of formulas - analytic, empirical for its definition. For analytical calculations of product temperatures: the average volume temperature, the surface temperature and the center temperature, it is necessary to take into consideration in the formulas not only the Fourier criterion (internal problem), but also the criterion Bio (external). It is not always correct that in case when the values of the Fourier criterion are less than one, the possibility of a product to give off heat is lower (due to the low coefficient of temperature conductivity that is characteristic of any product) than the ability of the cooling medium to accept this heat. In the conditions of air cooling the values of the thermophysical characteristics of the air are also not high, that’s why the increase in the temperature in the chamber at the initial moment of time is observed[ 1, 2]. It should also be taken into account that the chamber equipment is selected according to the average thermal load, and its ability to remove heat from the air is not sufficient in the initial period of the product cooling. 4. Use of In-house Design Modules When Choosing Bearing Assemblies for Pumps Being Designed

Among the main components that largely affect the operational reliability of centrifugal pumps are bearing assemblies. Based both on the generalization of theoretical data and practical skills in selecting bearings, specialists of JSC VNIIAEN developed basic design modules, in which a general approach to the selection and analysis of the performance of bearing assemblies is laid. These design modules can work either as separate units or as part of an integrated module that allows us to calculate the thermal balance of the bearing assembly system with taking into account a number of factors, such as lubrication conditions, cooling methods, mandatory verification of the recommended design features of both individual system elements and basic critical performance indicators of a bearing. Functional cause-effect relationships of the module can help better understand the problems that arise during the operation of bearings. This paper discusses JSC VNIIAEN’s in-house design modules for selecting pump bearing assemblies, and proposes a new method for designing bearing assemblies, with the method based on the integrated use of individual modules represented as an integrated module in the form of a computer-aided design (CAD) system. The flexibility of the methodology used allows us to supplement and improve the developed design modules included in the integrated module in the form of a CAD system by using the results of scientific research, feedback from operational locations, and constant monitoring of various information sources.

5. Concerning the justification of the working characteristics and construction parameters of the bearing assembly of the upper support of the pellet furnace shafts

Problem. Metallurgical industry requires raw material for further steel production. One of the technological chain element is grid furnace, equipped with shafts, which hold the grid with raw product during heating. Insufficient cooling of the shafts provides the durability decrease and interruption of the technological process during the shafts’ failure. The article presents the results of research into the working conditions of the upper support shafts of the metallurgical furnace. Goal. The goal of the paper is to find the absolute thermal expansion of the shaft by means of thermal transient methods and identify the required bearing clearances to extend durability and reliability of the technological element. Results. Using the method of finite elements, the calculation of the thermal mode of operation of the part was carried out and the absolute values of thermal expansion under the condition of forced cooling were determined. Originality. Finite element analysis has been used to examine the necessity of bearing clearances correction as well as working regimes of steel construction. Practical value. To determine the cooling modes, experimental tests of the cooling system were carried out. Based on the results of working out the temperature modes of operation, attention is focused on the sufficiency of thermal clearances in bearing units and the operating modes of rolling bearings. In order to substantiate the working characteristics of the bearing assemblies, experimental studies of the effectiveness of the lubrication system and consistent grease were conducted., У статті наведено результати дослідження умов роботи валів верхньої підтримки печі металургійного виробництва. Методом скінченних елементів розраховано тепловий ре-жим роботи деталі та визначено абсолютні значення теплового розширення за умови примусового охолодження. Для визначення режимів охолодження проводились експериментальні випробування системи охолодження. За результатами опрацювання температурних режимів роботи наголошено на достатності теплових зазорів у підшипникових вузлах і режимах роботи підшипників кочення. З метою обґрунтування робочих характеристик підшипникових вузлів проведено дослідження ефективності системи змащування та консистентної змазки.
