Abstract

The influence of aggressive agents of the gastro-intestinal tract on quantity of free and encapsulated cells of the probiotic preparation based on Bifidobacterium lactis BB 12 has been investigated. The physico-chemical characteristics of the main component of the protective shell of this probiotic preparation--calcium-alginate gel under the influence of aggressive agents of the gastro-intestinal tract have been studied. The results indicate the possibility of these capsules using as an acid-resistant transport forms of Bifidobacterium lactis BB 12.
