This book provides a new view on Luke's Gospel by introducing it as the source of the New Testament. A close reading of the works of Flavius Josephus and Latin inscriptions confirms the validity of the chronological landmarks delivered by the Evangelist. Together these three sources form a cohesive whole like a puzzle with finely-tuned pieces. The Codex Bezae Cantabrigiensis, which preserves the oldest known text of the Gospels and Acts written in Greek, attests that the Evangelist fulfilled the purpose of veracity advertised in the preface. The reliability of his work is linked to its early publication, in the decade following the events so that even Mark and Paul had knowledge of it. From this point of view, the “Lukan priority” that preserves the historical truth about Jesus'life, would no longer be just an assumption. In this context, the conditions under which the Third Gospel was written are revealed, and with them, the objectives pursued by those who assumed responsibility for it, and who can be identified. Let us hope these pages will encourage other biblical Scholars to investigate the Third Gospel and Acts from the perspective of the “Lukan priority”.

El discurso político no es hoy un objeto de estudio novedoso, aunque no por ello su campo ha sido completamente discernido; de hecho, incluso el concepto “discurso político” podría incardinar cierto pleonasmo pues, ¿qué discurso escapa realmente a la naturaleza política de las interacciones humanas?, ¿cuál de las formas políticas que practica una comunidad escapan de lo discursivo? En rigor, no hay hecho político que prescinda de la discursividad que lo significa y que lo realiza, del mismo modo en que no hay discurso que no tenga una dimensión política.Este libro es producto del seminario de investigación constituido a partir del I Coloquio “De la emoción a la lógica en el discurso político”, evento celebrado entre el 21 y el 23 de septiembre de 2022 como parte del proyecto “Ethos, logos o pathos: análisis retórico de la argumentación política” (Conahcyt, México, 2022). En dicho seminario, se discutieron diferentes aspectos del discurso político, inicialmente a partir de una perspectiva retórica centrada en la argumentación y desde presupuestos clásicos; porque, en definitiva, ¿es conveniente un análisis del discurso de espaldas a los conceptos retóricos de la Antigüedad? La decadencia actual de la política en el mundo occidental, así como las turbulentas realidades que viene produciendo, avalan la vigencia y la necesidad de los estudios retóricos del discurso político; porque la retórica es una disciplina que a lo largo de los siglos ha recogido en sus reglas y en sus técnicas una experiencia considerable de construcción discursiva de lo público que bien se puede poner al servicio de la identificación, por ejemplo, de las escasas formas en que pervive en la actualidad la argumentación lógica, del creciente papel del autoritarismo, así como es posible a partir de ello calibrar los efectos del odio discursivo, no necesariamente para contrarrestarlo con un odio a contrapelo, sino para subvertirlo mediante la educación o para emplearlo con mejor tino en las tribunas en las que se tejen los destinos de los pueblos. Pues aunque es verdad que la ira y el odio son emociones universales que pueden tener funciones evolutivas o adaptativas, el odio discursivo y las distintas formas de manipulación emocional se han vuelto mecanismos violentos y recurrentes de imposición cotidiana del poder; de modo que cuando un discurso se recibe desde la emoción y no admite réplica o contrargumento, se podrían terminar minando las bases racionales de la sociedad.

El libro se enmarca en el contexto de las Humanidades Digitales y, más concretamente, en un punto intermedio entre la lengua y la literatura españolas, por un lado, y la filología inglesa, por otro. En los tres casos de estudio que se presentan existe un hilo conductor en la figura de Charles Dickens. Lejos de ser una coincidencia, este aspecto sirve para ilustrar uno de los pilares en torno a los que se construye este trabajo: la presencia destacada de elementos del acervo popular inglés en el ámbito hispánico.

Los estudios sobre la canción de autor española se han centrado principalmente en análisis literarios o sociopolíticos de las canciones y de los “cantautores” durante el tardofranquismo y la transición. Sin embargo, la canción de autor española es hoy un pilar que sustenta la canción española y sus canciones forman parte del imaginario colectivo español. Por eso, este trabajo reflexiona sobre la definición de este género musical que nace bajo la influencia de la chanson française y del folk anglosajón en la segunda mitad del siglo XX y que se nutre del sustrato popular de la cultura española. La canción de autor, ¿es una contracultura, una subcultura, cultura popular y/o mainstream? Apoyándonos en diferentes archivos nacionales y regionales, realizando entrevistas a los cantautores, así como consultando discográficas y prensa, este libro intenta contestar a estar preguntas. A través de la situación política, social, cultural y, sobre todo, económica de la industria musical, hemos analizado la evolución de la canción de autor española en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, situándola dentro de la continuidad de la canción española contemporánea e intentando desentrañar la importancia de los componentes poéticos y políticos en su trayectoria.
