Transported education is a part of social life for students living in settlements without school. The social studies course includes all aspects of the social life of primary and secondary school students. This study, which aims to examine how transported education shapes students' attitudes toward the social studies course, was carried out based on the scope mentioned earlier. A sequential explanatory design from the mixed research method was used in the study. In the participant group of the study, a total of 198 students studying in a secondary school providing transported education in Erzurum, Turkey, took place. The data of the study, in which statistical and qualitative data were collected together, were collected through scale and semi-structured interview form. Kruskal Wallis, one of the non-parametric statistical tests, was used in the analysis of statistical data, and content analysis was used in qualitative data analysis. In the study, it was determined that the scores of the participants' attitudes toward the social studies course did not differ according to the class variable. In the study, it was also determined that the students had positive opinions about transported education, and they thought that transported education was a helpful structure for them to socialize and gain knowledge and skills about daily life. Various suggestions have been developed depending on the results of the study.

Democracy and human rights are essential concepts for people as they are fundamental elements of human life. Demonstrating the importance of democracy and human rights in terms of human life can be achieved by educating people. Democracy and human rights education is given to primary and secondary school students through social studies lessons. As a matter of fact, social studies have content based on all situations, facts, and events related to human social life. In primary and secondary education, the knowledge, skills, and values people should have in their social life are presented to students through social studies education. In this study, the concepts of democracy and human rights were examined in terms of content and historical development, the place of these concepts in human education was tried to be discussed, and their importance in terms of social studies education was examined. The study stated that democracy and human rights education are essential facts in terms of human life. That theoretical and practical knowledge about democracy and human rights can be gained through education. On the other hand, the importance of the concepts of democracy and human rights in terms of social studies, an interdisciplinary field of education, has also been tried to be revealed in the study.

Objective Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is one of the most prevalent causes of lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI). The primary objective of this study is to provide the risk modelling of confirmed RSV infection in children who were born preterm at 29 to 35 weeks of gestational age and presented with LRTI. Study Design This prospective, multicenter study was performed between October 2015 and March 2017. Premature infants born with gestational age between 29 and 35 weeks that were ≤2 years of age at the beginning of the RSV season and admitted to the hospital with clinical findings of LRTI during the season were included. RSV-positive and -negative infants were compared in terms of demographic features, risk factors, and requirement of hospitalization. Results RSV positive group was lower than RSV negative group and ratio of ≤3 months age at admission was significant higher in RSV (+) group. RSV-positive infants were found to be significantly born during or 3 months prior to RSV season. The rate and duration of hospitalization and need for mechanical ventilation were significantly higher in RSV positive infants. The rate and duration of hospitalization in RSV positive patients was related to the chronological age. Conclusion This study showed that preterm infants with RSV-associated LRTI significantly needed more hospitalization, intensive care admission, and mechanical ventilation. In addition need of hospitalization and duration of hospitalization were significant higher in ≤3 months of age. Therefore, we suggest the importance of palivizumab prophylaxis in infants ≤ 3 months chronological age, especially during the RSV season.

Aim: The purpose of the study is to determine the accuracy of carotid artery plaque density measurements using multi detector computed tomography (MDCT) with contrast administration to differentiate symptomatic from asymptomatic plaques. Materials and Methods: Seventy-two patients who did not have calcified plaques were identified retrospectively among patients undergoing neck and brain MDCT due to atherosclerotic carotid artery disease diagnosis or pre-diagnosis. The plaque density measurements were made on the same axial unenhanced and contrast-enhanced sections in large window, using a circular ROI in 1-4 mm² in size. The symptom differentiation of patients was based on neurological examination and radiological findings. The measured density values were compared according to the clinical and laboratory findings and medical histories of the patients. Student t-test was used for statistical analyses. In this study, effects of different yarn structures and properties, produced with ring, compact, open-end rotor and vortex spinning systems, on the color efficiency of package dyeing were investigated. For this purpose, 100% combed ring, compact, open-end and vortex yarns with different yarn counts which were used from the same raw material blend were produced and wound on perforated plastic dye tubes (cones) according to the principle of loose winding (package density; 370 g/dm3). The bobbins were dyed with reactive dye for three different dyebath concentrations in the universal package dyeing machine. CIELab (L*, a*, b*, c* and h) values, color differences (ΔE) and color strength (K/S) values of dyed yarns were measured by the spectrophotometer. In conclusion, it was determined that vortex and rotor spun yarns could have darker shades with respect to ring and compact spun yarns., Bu çalışmada, ring, kompakt, rotor ve hava jetli (vortex) eğirme sistemleriyle üretilmiş ipliklerin farklı yapı ve özelliklerinin bobin boyamada renk verimliliği üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, aynı harman kullanılarak, farklı iplik numaralarında %100 penye ring, kompakt, rotor ve vortex iplikler üretilmiş ve 370 gr/dm3 bobin yoğunluğunda, yumuşak sarım prensibine göre delikli plastik boyama patronlarına sarılmıştır. Bobinler bobin boyama makinesinde üç farklı konsantrasyonda reaktif boyarmadde ile boyanmıştır. Boyama sonrası renk değerleri (L*, a*, b*, c* ve h), renk farklılıkları (ΔE) ve boyama kuvveti (K/S) değerleri spektrofotometre kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, aynı şartlar altında vortex ve rotor ipliklerinin ring ve kompakt ipliklere göre daha koyu renkte boyanabileceği belirlenmiştir.

Bu çalışma; bahar vejetasyonunda, ısıtmasız plastik sera koşullarında cibre, torf, perlit, torf:perlit (1:1) karışımı ve bahçe toprağının kontrol olarak kullanıldığı 5 farklı fide yetiştirme ortamlarının Crimson Sweet karpuz çeşidinde fide kalitesi (bitki boyu, yaş ve kuru ağırlığı, gövde çapı ve uzunluğu, kök uzunluğu, yaş ve kuru ağırlığı) üzerine olan etkilerinin ve en uygun ortamın belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda fide büyümesi bakımından perlit ve cibrenin tek başlarına kullanımlarının ümitvar olmadığı görülürken torf ve torf:perlit karışımlarının en iyi sonuçları verdiği tespit edilmiştir. ÇalıŞmada aynı harmandan alınmıŞ %100 pamuk kullanılarak, farklı iplik numaralarında ring kompakt, open end rotor ve vorteks (MVS) iplikleri üretilmiŞtir. Ġplikler sabit yoğunlukta (370 g/dm3 ) sarılarak, boya bobinleri oluŞturulmuŞtur. Ġpliklerin fiziksel özellikleri test edilmiŞtir. Bobinlerin sertlik değerleri “textile hardness tester” cihazı kullanılarak belirlenmiŞtir. Sonuçta vorteks ipliklerle oluŞturulmuŞ boya bobinlerinin ring, kompakt ve open end rotor bobinlerine nazaran daha düŞük bobin sertliğine sahip oldukları belirlenmiŞtir. İstatistiksel varyans analizi sonucunda, özellikle eğirme sistemi bağımsız değiŞkeninin, bobin sertliği bağımlı değiŞkeni üzerinde yüksek etki değerine (0,903) sahip olduğu gözlenmiŞtir. Ayrıca, eğirme sistemi, iplik numarası ve eğirme sistemi-iplik numarası etkileŞiminin bobin sertlik değeri üzerinde önemli bir etkiye (p< 0,01) sahip oldukları belirlenmiŞtir, In this study, ring, compact, open end rotor and vortex (MVS) yarns with different yarn counts were produced in which the raw material was obtained from the identical %100 combed cotton blend and the spun yarns were wound onto packages having constant density according to the loose winding principle (370 g/dm3 ).The physical properties of the yarns were tested and package hardness values (Shore A) were measured using textile hardness tester. In conclusion, package hardness values of vortex yarns have given lower results compared to ring, rotor and compact spun yarns. In the results of analysis of variance, independent variable of spinning system has a high effect value (Particular Eta Squared 0,903) on the dependent variable. Amaç: Akut apandisit çocukluk çağının en sık karşılaşılan ve tanısal zorluk çekilen akut batın sebeplerinden biridir. Çalışmamızda çocuk yaş grubunda akut apandisit tanısında ultrasonografi sonuçları ve beyaz küre sayısı yüksekliğinin histopatolojik tanı ile ilişkisi ve tanısal doğruluğu değerlendirilmiştir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Ocak 2013 ve Haziran 2014 tarihleri arasında akut apandisit ön tanısı ile apendektomi yapılan 20’si erkek, 17’si kız ve yaş ortalaması 13 olan 37 olgunun operasyon öncesi ultrasonografi ve beyaz küre düzeyleri retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Histopatolojik tanı karşılaştırmada esas alınmıştır.Bulgular: Seçilen tüm hastaların preoperatif USG ve beyaz küre sonuçları histopatolojik sonuçlar altın standart kabul edilerek karşılaştırıldı. Buna göre USG için tanısal duyarlılık %70, seçicilik %43, doğruluk %70 bulunmuştur. Beyaz küre sayısı akut apandisit düşünülen hastalarda yüksek olup duyarlılık %82, seçicilik % 30, doğruluk %70 bulunmuştur. USG’nin akut apandisit olarak raporladığı hastaların histopatolojik incelemede akut apandisit olma olasılığı %84 bulunmuştur.Sonuç: Çocukluk çağı akut apandist olgularında tanı temel olarak anamnez, fizik muayene ve laboratuvar bulgularına dayanarak konur. İlave tetkik gerektiğinde iyonizan radyasyon içermeyen, nispeten ucuz, kolay ulaşılabilir ve tekrarlanabilir bir yöntem olan ultrasonografi ilk tercih edilmesi gereken radyolojik yöntemdir. USG ve beyaz küre sayısının yüksekliği ile histopatolojik tanı arasındaki anlamlı ilişki de bu tercihi doğrulamaktadır., Objective: Acute appendicitis is one of the reasons of acute abdomen that is very common in the childhood period and creates difficulty in diagnosis. In this study, the diagnostic accuracy and correlation between the histopathological diagnosis and the results of ultrasonography in childhood period acute appendicitis diagnosis and the WBC elevation rate were evaluated.Material and Methods: Between January 2013 and June 2014, preoperative ultrasonography and WBC (White Blood Cell) levels of 37 cases with a pre-diagnosis of acute appendicitis consisting of 20 males and 17 females with a mean age of 13 years and undergoing appendectomy were evaluated restrospectively. The histopathological diagnosis was the basis of the correlation.results: The results of pre-operative USG and WBC of the selected patients were compared taking the histopathological result as the gold standard. In this respect, the rates for USG were as follows: diagnostic sensitivity 78%, selectivity 43%, and accuracy 70%. WBC was high in the patients with a possibility of acute appendicitis. Çalışmada aynı harmandan alınmış %100 pamuk kullanılarak, farklı iplik numaralarında ring iplikleri üretilmiştir. İplikler farklı yoğunluklarda sarılarak, boyama bobinleri oluşturulmuştur. Bobinler % 4 konsantrasyonda, C.I. Reactive Black 5 boyarmaddesiyle boyanmıştır. İplik numarası, bobin yoğunluğu, pompa devri, sirkülasyon süresi (iç-dış) ve sıcaklık yükselmesi, boyamanın düzgünlüğüne etki edebilecek parametreler olarak seçilmiştir. Lineer çoklu regresyon modelleri kullanılarak, boyama farkları ve seçilmiş parametreler arasındaki ilişki tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. İstatistiksel çalışma sonucunda, yüksek sayılabilecek düzeltilmiş determinasyon katsayısı (adjusted R2) değerlerine ulaşılmıştır.
