This study was carried out to determine serum haptoglobin levels of pregnant cows with complications during pregnancy. A total of 28 animals were included in the study, 14 cows with healthy birth and 14 cows with complicated pregnancies, whose birth processes were followed in the same farm. Blood samples were taken from the vena jugularis into yellow capped biochemistry tubes at the 6th month of their pregnancy. Serum albumin, globulin and total protein measurements were made with an autoanalyzer. Determination of haptoglobin levels was measured in an ELISA device using a commercial test kit. Serum haptoglobin levels were found as 226.64±24.09 µg/ml in pregnant cows with complications and 46.71±2.98 µg/ml in healthy pregnant cows. Total protein 8.52±0.28-7.58±0.12 g/dL, respectively; albumin 3.31±0.08-3.34±0.04 g/dL; globulin 5.21±0.24-4.25±0.15 g/dL; alb/glb 0.65±0.03-0.80±0.04 was found to be in complicated and healthy pregnant. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between lactation number, milk yield, and some blood biochemical parameters in dairy cows. Materials and Methods: The material ofthe study consists of dairy cows (n=60), and three different groups were formed according to the lactation numbers of the cows. Non-lactating heifers were assigned to Group 1 (n=10), 1st and 2nd lactation cowswereassignedtoGroup2(n=24),and3rdand4thlactationcowswereassigned to Group 3 (n=26). Staphylococcus spp. are the important bacterial agents of subclinical and clinical mastitis cases. This study was aimed to determine the vancomycin resistances, antibacterial resistance profiles, some virulence genes, and pheno- and genotyping of staphylococci from mastitis. For this aim, 121 staphylococcal isolates were analyzed. The identifications of isolates were confirmed with PCR for being Staphylococcus spp. and Staphylococcus aureus. The antibiotic resistance patterns were determined by Kirby bauer Disc Diffusion Tests and according to the resistance profiles, the isolates were antibiotyped. The vancomycin resistance genes were determined by PCR for investigating the vanA, vanH, vanR, vanS, vanZ, vanY and vanX genes. The vancomycin resistant isolates were genotyped with RAPD-PCR. The nuc gene was detected in 86 of 121 staphylococcal isolates examined and named as Staphylococcus aureus. The remaining 35 isolates were defined as Staphylococcus spp. S. aureus isolates were found to be resistant to penicillin G, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, oxacillin, tetracycline, cefaperazone, teicoplanin, vancomycin and trimethoprim-sulfomethaxazole at 50% (43/86), 40.7% (35/86), 34.9% (30/86), 23.3% (20/86), 22.1% (19/86), 18.6% (16/86) 10.5% (9/86) and 8.1% (7/86) respectively. On the other hand, 4 (11.4%) of 35 Staphylococcus spp. isolates were resistant to penicillin G, 3 (8.6%) to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, 2 (5.7%) to trimethoprim-sulfometaxazole, 1 (2.9%) to oxacillin, cefaperazone, teicoplanin, while all isolates were sensitive to vancomycin and tetracycline. Of the 9 S. aureus isolates that were phenotypically resistant to vancomycin, vanA gene was detected in 2 and vanR gene in 3 isolates. Multiple resistances to three or more antibiotics were determined in 42 of 86 S. aureus isolates. In addition, coa gene was detected in 61 (70.9%) of 86 S. aureus isolates. 10 different gene polymorphisms were detected in coa gene positive isolates. While the spa gene was determined in all S. aureus isolates, it was revealed that they had 4 spa gene polymorphisms. Nine different genotypes with a similarity between 51-75% were detected in the genotyping of vancomycin resistant 9 isolates. In conclusion, multiple antibiotic resistance rates in S. aureus isolates investigated were found to be important for mastitis treatment. S. aureus izolatlarının penisilin G, amoksisilin/klavulanik asit, okzasilin, tetrasiklin, sefaperazon, teikoplanin, vankomisin ve trimetoprim-sulfometaksazole sırasıyla %50 (43/86), %40.7 (35/86), %34,9 (30/86), %23,3 (20/86), %22.1 (19/86), %18,6 (16/86) %10,5 (9/86) ve %8,1 (7/86) oranında dirençli bulundu. 35 adet Staphylococcus spp.'nin 4'ü (%11,4) penisilin G'ye, 3'ü (%8,6) amoksisilin/klavulanik aside, 2'si (%5,7) trimetoprim-sülfometaksazole, 1'i (%2,9) oksasilin, sefaperazon, teikoplanine direnç gösterirken, tüm izolatlar vankomisin ve tetrasikline duyarlıydı. Vankomisine fenotipik olarak dirençli olan 9 S. aureus izolatından 2'sinde vanA, 3'ünde vanR geni saptandı. 86 S. aureus izolatının 42'sinde üç veya daha fazla antibiyotiğe karşı çoklu direnç belirlendi. Ayrıca 86 S. aureus izolatının 61'inde (%70.9) coa geni tespit edildi. coa geni pozitif izolatlarda 10 farklı gen polimorfizmi tespit edildi. Tüm S. aureus izolatlarında spa geni belirlenirken, 4 spa gen polimorfizmi görüldü. Vankomisine dirençli 9 izolatın genotiplendirilmesinde %51-75 arasında benzerlik gösteren dokuz farklı genotip tespit edildi. Sonuç olarak, araştırılan S. aureus izolatlarında çoklu antibiyotik direnç oranları mastitis tedavisi için önemli bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, bu faktörleri içeren süt ve süt ürünlerinin mastitis kaynaklı Staphylococcus suşlarında vankomisin direncinin belirlenmesi nedeniyle halk sağlığı açısından risk oluşturduğunu göstermektedir.

Bu çalışmada, sağ abomazum deplasmanlı ve travmatik retiküloperitonitisli beş yaşlı süt sığırında klinik, ultrasonografik ve laparotomi muayene sonuçları sunulmaktadır. Yakın zamanda doğum yapmış beş yaşındaki Holstein inek, depresyon, iştahsızlık, kabızlık, sırtta kamburluk ve şişkinlik anamnezi ile veteriner eğitim hastanesine getirildi. Anamnez, klinik ve ultrasonografik muayene sonuçlarına dayanarak, TRP ve RDA'nın geçici teşhisi yapıldı ve inek ameliyata alındı. Klinik muayeneyi takiben, ultrasonografik incelemede, retikulum ile rumenin ön dorsal kör kesesi arasında hiperekojenik fibrin birikintileri ve anekojenik sıvı keseleri tespit edildi. Deplase olmuş abomazumun hipoekojenik olduğu, ventralde sıvı ve daha dorsalde gaz kesesine sahip olduğu belirlendi. Retikulumun batmış ve serbest yabancı cisimleri çıkarıldı ve abomazopeksi operasyonu yapıldı. Ultrasonografinin klinik muayene ile birlikte eşzamanlı gözlenen sağ abomazum deplasmanı ve travmatik retiküloperitonitisi değerlendirmede yararlı bir yardımcı araç olduğu sonucuna varıldı., In this study, the results of clinical, ultrasonographic, and laparotomy examinations of a five-year-old dairy cow with right abomasal displacement and traumatic reticuloperitonitis are presented. A five-year-old Holstein cow who had recently given birth was brought to the veterinary teaching hospital with a history of depression, anorexia, constipation, arched backs, and bloat. A possible diagnosis of TRP and RDA was made based on the history and the findings of the clinical and ultrasonographic finding, and the cow was sent for surgery. An ultrasonographic examination revealed hyperechogenic fibrin deposits and anechogenic fluid pockets between the reticulum and the anterior dorsal blind sac of the rumen. It was discovered that the displaced abomasum is hypoechogenic, has fluid ingesta ventrally, and has a gas cap more dorsally. The reticulum's submerged and free foreign bodies were removed, and an abomasopexy procedure was performed. The day after the operation, the cow was able to eat and she gradually got better over the next few days. It was concluded that ultrasonography along with a clinical examination, is a useful adjunct tool for assessing the concurrent observed abomasal displacement and traumatic reticuloperitonitis.

Kur'ân-ı Kerîm’de İsrailoğulları’nın tarihiyle ilgili muhtelif hadiselere yer verilmektedir. Bakara sûresinin 67-74. âyetlerinde anlatılan inek kesme olayı ve faili meçhul cinayetin aydınlatılması konusu da bu hadiselerdendir. Bu iki olay müfessirler tarafından farklı şekillerde yorumlanmıştır. Hâkim kanaat, başlangıçta bu olayların birbirinden bağımsız geliştiği; önce Allah tarafından İsrailoğulları’na inek kesme emrinin verildiği, daha sonra ise bu ineğin fail-i meçhul cinayetin aydınlatmasında kullanıldığı yönündedir. Ancak böyle bir çıkarım Allah-insan iletişimi açısından sorunlu durmaktadır. Zira kutsal metinlere bakıldığında Allah’ın, insana emrettiklerinin ve yasakladıklarının sebeplerine de yer verdiği görülmektedir. Bu durumda İsrailoğulları’na yöneltilen inek kesme emrinin ardında başka sebeplerin olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. The Qur'an refers to different events related to the history of the Israelites. The issue of cow cutting and the clarification of the unsolved murder described in the 67-74 verses of surah al-Baqara are among these events. These two events were interpreted in different ways by commentators. The prevailing opinion is that these events initially were developed independently of each other, that God first ordered to Israelites to cut the cow, and then this cow was used in the illumination of the unknown murder. However, such an inference is problematic in terms of God-human communication. Because when we look at the scriptures, it is seen that Allah also explains the reasons for what he commanded man. In this case, it is understood that there are other reasons behind the cow cutting order. Our research aims to make reasonable inferences about what these reasons might be.

Saat, Nevzat (Balikesir Author), This study aimed to determine the distribution of pulsed wave Doppler ultrasonographic features of milk veins in lactating cows corresponding to udder health and the results of California Mastitis Test (CMT). Clinically healthy Simmental cows aged 3-5 years within the first 12 weeks of postpartum period were used for the study. End Diastolic Velocities (EDV), Systolic Peak Velocity (SPV), and Time-Averaged Maximum Velocity (TAMV) were the measured Doppler features of the milk veins. Numerical scales for Pulsatile Index (PI) and Resistant Index (RI) were devised in accordance with blood flow parameters. The animals were allocated to two groups according to CMT results as CMT positive (n=21) and CMT negative (n=5). No differences were found between the group regarding to PI, RI, EDV, or SPV (p>0.05). However, TAMV was found to be lower in CMT-positive animals (7.52 +/- 0.85 cm/sec) compared to CMT-negative (13.90 +/- 3.56 cm/sec) animals (p=0.021)., Bu araştırmada laktasyondaki ineklerde süt veninin pulsed wave doppler ultrasonografi özelliklerinin meme sağlığı ve California Mastitis Test (CMT) sonuçlarına göre dağılımı ve bu dağılıma etki eden faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Kan akış parametrelerine bağlı kalarak Pulsatil İndeks (PI) ve Rezistans İndeks (RI) skalası çıkarılarak numerik bir ölçeklendirme yapıldı. Hayvanlar CMT sonuçlarına göre CMT pozitif (n=21) ve CMT negatif (n=5) olmak üzere ikiye ayrıldı. Buna göre PI, RI, EDV ve SPV açısından gruplar arasında fark bulunmadı (p>0.05). Ruminantlarda vaginada mezenkimal kökenli malign tümörler oldukça nadirdir. Genellikle genç hayvanlarda görülür. Belirli bir ırk yatkınlığı rapor edilmemiş olsa da holstein ırkı ineklerde görüldüğüne dair raporlar mevcuttur. Bu olguda 3 yaşlı holstein ırkı bir inekte vaginanın dorsal duvarından alınan kitlenin makroskobik ve histopatolojik incelemesi sonucunda vaginal fibrosarkom tanısı konulmuştur.

The aim of this study was to determine serum pseudocholinesterase, rheumatoid factor, troponin I, C-reactive protein, caeruloplasmin, haptoglobin, urea, creatinin, creatinin kinase (CK), phosporus, calcium, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in cows with or without botulism. The study included 15 holstein cows aged two to five years as the botulism group and control group consisting of 10 healthy cows. The group included both pregnant and dry period cattle. Serum concentration of all the parameters were measured using an autoanalyzer and Nefelometre equipment BNII. Mice inoculation test was performed to make diagnosis and Clostridium Botulinum type C and D toxins were determined in silage and blood that cows with botulism. Serum troponin I, C-reactive protein, rheumatoid factor, creatinine, creatinine kinase, phosphorus, calcium and AST did not differ significantly between two groups. Biochemistry analysis of serum showed that in the botulism group haptoglobin, caeruloplasmin and urea were higher and that pseudocholinesterase and alanine aminotransferase were lower than in the control group. Serum troponin I, C-reactive protein, romatoid faktör, kreatin, kreatin kinaz, AST, fosfor ve kalsiyum seviyeleri botulismuslu ve sağlıklı ineklerde önemli bir değişiklik göstermedi. Botulismuslu ineklerde haptoglobin, seruloplazmin ve üre yüksek çıkarken, ALT ve pseudokolinesterazın sağlıklı ineklere göre daha düşük çıktığı tespit edildi. Amaç: Bu çalışmada etilen glikolle direkt transfer metoduna göre dondurulmuş sığır embriyolarının taşıyıcılara transferinde, embriyonun çözdürülmesinden transfer edilene kadar geçen sürenin gebelik oranı üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Taşıyıcı olarak (n=56), kızgınlıkları (Östrüs) 14 gün arayla iki kez 0.150 mg d-cloprostenol enjeksiyonu ile senkronize edilen inekler kullanıldı. Embriyolar taşıyıcılara kızgınlık tespitinden 7 gün sonra (kızgınlık 0. gün) transfer edildi. Embriyolar 25oC’lik su banyosunda 25 saniye tutularak çözdürüldükten sonra taşıyıcılara 0-5 dk. (Grup 0-5, n=27), 6-10 (Grup 6-10, n=16) ya da 11-25 (Grup 11-25, n=13) dakika içinde korpus luteumun bulunduğu kornu uteriye ipsilateral olarak transfer edildi. Buna göre G 0-5 ve G 6-10 ile G 6-10 ve G 11-25 grupları arasında farklılık istatistiki açıdan önemsiz bulunurken (P>0.05), G 11-25 grubunda tespit edilen gebelik oranı G 0-5 grubuna kıyasla önemli düzeyde düşük bulundu (P, Aim: In this study, it was aim to determine the rates of the effect of the lasting time from thawing-transfer until to transfer during transferring of cattle frozen embryos with ethylene glycol by direct transfer method on pregnancy rates. Materials and Methods: Recipients (n=56) were selected from the cows whose estrus were synchronized with two times injections of 0.150 mg d-cloprostenol 14 days intervals. Embryos were transferred into recipients 7 days after the detection of recipients estrus (estrus= day 0). After embryos were threated 25 seconds within 25oC water bath to thaved then they were transferred to the recipients in minutes as follows; 0-5 (Group 0-5, n=27), 6-10 (Group 6-10, n=16) or 11-25 (Group 11-25, n=13) which all embryos were transferred into the uterine horn ipsilateral to the corpus luteum. Pregnancy diagnosis were done on day 28 used by ultrasound.Results: Pregnancy rates were determined in 59.3%, 50% and 23.1% within G 0-5, G 6-10 and G 11-25 groups, respectively. WOS: 000333080000004, In previous reports, it was indicated that measurement of activity of Interferon-tau Stimulated Genes (ISGs) in Peripheral Blood Leucocytes (PBLs) may be used as an alternative early pregnancy detection method in dairy cows. However, there are no data showing the expression profiles of ISGs in other body fluids containing leucocytes such as milk. In the present study, it was hypothesized that leucocytes in milk samples may reflect the increases in expression profiles of ISGs as shown in PBLs. For this purpose, nine pregnant lactating Holstein cows were used. Insemination day was accepted as day zero (day 0). Blood and milk samples were collected on day 0 and 18 after insemination for cell isolation. Total RNA was extracted from isolated cells and converted to cDNA. Steady state levels of Interferon-tau Stimulated Gene 15 (ISG15), Myxovirus (influenza virus) resistance 1 (MX1) and 2 (MX2) mRNA transcripts were assayed by using real-time reverse transcriptase PCR. Relative Expression Software Tool (REST2009) was used for statistical analyses. There was no statistical significant difference for expression levels of ISG15, MX1 and MX2 mRNAs between days 0 and 18 in milk samples. This study was focused on evaluation of intra and postoperative findings after laparoscopic reposition and Toggle pin fixation of the left sided abomasal displacement in 28 cattle. Laparoscopic surgery was performed in two stages. The first stage was realized in the standing cow and following insertion of the Toggle pin into the abomasum, it was repositioned by draining gas and fluid contents. At the second stage, the cow was restrained ventrally on the hydrolic operation table and the abomasum was fixed percutaneously by exteriorizing the tips of Toggle pin suture, which were located in abdominal cavity. During the first stage of laparoscopy, abomasal displacement was confirmed by seeing the dilated abomasum existing between rumen and left abdominal wall. Grasping procedure of the Toggle pin sutures was difficult in seven cows due to distended rumen. In twenty-seven cow laparoscopic abomasopexy operation was found to be successful (96.42%). One cow had died at 5th day postoperatively (3.58%). Bu araştırmada, laparoskopik repozisyon ve Toggle pin fikzasyonu ile tedavi edilen sola abomasum deplasmanlı 28 inekte, intra ve postoperatif bulguların değerlendirilmesi hedeflendi. Laparoskopik cerrahi iki aşamada gerçekleştirildi. Birinci aşamada, hayvan ayakta iken abomasum içine Toggle pin yerleştirildi ve hemen ardından gaz ve sıvı içeriği dışarı alınarak deplase olan abomasumun repozisyonu sağlandı. İkinci aşamada, hidrolikli operasyon masasına sırt üstü yatırılan ineğin abdominal boşluğundaki Toggle pin ipleri dışarı alınarak perkütanöz abomasopeksi gerçekleştirildi. Laparoskopik cerrahinin ilk aşamasında deplase olan abomasum, sol karın duvarı ile rumen arasında gözlenerek klinik tanı doğrulandı. Aşırı rumen dolgunluğu bulunan 7 inekte, Toggle pin ipinin laparoskopik olarak bulunması oldukça uzun sürdü. Laparoskopik abomasopeksi ile 27 olguda başarı sağlanırken (%96.42), bir olgunun postoperatif 5. günde öldüğü (%3.58) belirlendi.

Bu çalışmada, 3 yaşında Holstein ırkı üç inekte Enzootik Bovine Lökozis (EBL) enfeksiyonu klinik, serolojik, hematol ojik ve patolojik yönden incelendi. Klinik inceleme lerde hayvanla rda aşırı kilo kaybı, iştahsızl ık, özellikle preskapular lenf düğümünde belirgin olmak üzere tüm yüzlek lenf düğümlerinde büyüme, aralıklı yüksek ateş, kalp aritmisi, düzensiz solunum ve inkoordinasyon geliştiği tespit edildi. Bu klinik görünüme sahip üç inekte yapılan serolojik testlerde [Agar Jel Immunodiffuzyon (AGID) ve Enzim Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)] Bovine Lökozis Virus (BLV)’una karşı antikor varlığı belirlendi. Seropozitif tespit edilen üç inekte, hematolojik muayenelerde B-lenfosit, total lökosit ve total lenfosit oranlarında artışlar ve T-lenfosit, null hücreleri ve nötrofil oranlarında azalmalar görüldü. Hayvanların kesimleri sonrasında yapılan patolojik muayenelerde bütün lenf düğümler inde lenfadenopati dikkati çekti. Özellikle yüzlek lenf düğümle rinde korteks medulla ayrımının yapılamadığı ve kanamaların bulunduğu görüldü., In this study, Enzootic Bovine Leucosis (EBL) infection in three Holstein breed cows, three years old, were investigated interms of clinical, serological, hematological and pathological examination. Clinical examinations revealed weakne ss, la ck of appetite, enlargeme nts i n all s uperfi cial ly mph node s e special ly marked in prescapular lymph nodes, high te mperature, ca rdiac ar rhythmia, resp iratory distur bance and inc oordination. Serologically, Bo vine Leucemi a Virus ( BLV) an tibodies were detect ed in blood s erum samples by Agar-G el Immunodiffusion (AGID) and Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Hematologically, increases were found in B-lymphocytes, total leucocytes, total lymphoc yte and T -lymphocytes, but null cells and ne utrophil ratios de creased in a ll three cows. Lymph adenopathy was observed in all lym ph nodes at the pathological examination after slaughter. Especially at the superfi cial lymph nodes cort ex and medu lla were irregular and hemorrhages were observed.

Amaç: Türkiye'de subklinik ketozisin (SKK) prevalansının belirlenmesine yönelik sınırlı sayıda çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'nın Sivas ilindeki süt sığırı işletmelerinde bulunan Holştayn süt ineklerinde SKK'in prevalansının belirlenmesi ve serum ?-hidroksibütirat (BHB) ile glikoneogenezisde rol alan glikoz, albümin ve total kolesterol konsantrasyonları arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesi amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmada yaşları 3-6 arasında değişen, kuru dönem (40 baş) ve doğumdan sonraki 1-8 haftalar (160 baş) arasında bulunan toplam 200 baş holştayn inekler kullanıldı. Sistematik klinik muayenesi yapılan hayvanlardan kan örnekleri alındı. SKK'li ineklerin belirlenmesinde eşik değeri olarak 1.0 mmol/L BHB düzeyi alındı. Tüm ineklerin serum glikoz, albümin ve total kolesterol düzeyleri belirlendi. Bulgular: Sivas yöresinde yetiştirilen Holştayn ırkı ineklerde SKK prevalansı %12 olarak tespit edildi. SKK'lı ineklerin kan BHB seviyelerinin laktasyonun ilk haftalarında daha yüksek seviyelerde seyrettiği, kan glikoz ve total kolesterol düzeyleri ile arasında negatif korelasyonun olduğu belirlendi. Öneri: Süt verimi yüksek olan işletmelerde, periyodik aralıklarla BHB düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve yüksek BHB'li ineklerde gerekli önlemlerin alınması yararlı olacaktır., Aim: In Turkey, there have been limited studies conducted to determine the prevalance of subclinical ketosis (SCK). The aim of this study is to determine the prevalance of SCK in Holstein dairy cattles of the commercial herds in Sivas province of Turkey and to define the relationship between serum β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) and the glucose, albumin, total cholesterol concentrations which exist in gluconeogenesis. Materials and Methods: In this study, ranging in age from 3 to 6, dry period (n:40) and 1-8 weeks after birth found among the 160 head of Holstein cows were used. Blood samples were collected from animals which had been subject to systematically clinical examination. In detecting the cows with SCK, the threshold value was BHB levels ˃1.0 mmol/L. Serum glucose, albumin and total cholesterol levels of all cows were determined. Results: In Holstein cows of Sivas region the prevalance of subclinical ketosis is determined as 12%. It was seen that in those cows with SCK, blood BHB levels were higher during the early lactation and there was a negative correlation between blood glucose and total cholesterol level. Conclusions: Commercial which are high yielding dairy cows, high BHB levels are periodically determined, in order to take necessary precautions will be useful.

In the present case, generalized actinobacillosis in a cow was described. Diffuse granulomas varying size from pin head to chickpea were seen on the peritoneum, liver, uterus and diaphragm. Microscopical examination revealed that the granulomas were characterized by colonies of bacteria surrounded by radially arranged projections in the center of neutrophil leucocytes which were again surrounded by macrophages and giant cells of Langhans with outer fibrous capsule including lymphocyte and plasma cells. The sections stained with Brown and Brenn, ZiehlNeelsen and Gridley methods were positive for Gram-negative bacteria; negative for acid-fast bacilli and mycotic agents, respectively., Sunulan vakada, bir inekte generalize aktinobasillozis tanımlandı. Periton, karaciğer, uterus ve diyaframda toplu iğne başından bezelye büyüklüğüne kadar değişen diffuz granülomlar gözlendi. Kesitlere uygulanan Brown and Brenn boyama Gram-negatif bakteriler yönünden pozitif, ZiehlNeelsen ve Gridley boyamalar ise sırasıyla asido-rezistans basiller ve mantar etkenleri yönünden negatif bulundu.

Eseceli, Hüseyin (Balikesir Author), Bu çalışmada, Marmara Bölgesinde ruminant beslenmesinde yoğun olarak kullanılan bazı kaba yemler, yem hammaddeleri ve karma yemlerin kimyasal kompozisyonları ile enerji değerleri tespit edilmiştir. Değerlendirme için ayçiçeği küspesi, arpa, buğday, yulaf, mısır, buğday kepeği, kuru ot, fiğ kuru otu, yonca kuru otu ile karma yem örnekleri toplanmıştır. Yem örnekleri kimyasal kompozisyonları için analiz edilmiştir. Yemlerin gaz üretim kapasiteleri, organik madde sindirilebilirliği ve enerji içerikleri Hohenheim Gaz Testi ile tespit edilmiştir. Yem örnekleri rumen sıvısıyla 24 saat inkubasyona bırakılmış ve net gaz üretimleri ölçülmüştür. Organik madde sindirilebilirlik değeri ve enerji içerikleri hesaplanmıştır. Kaba yemler arasındaki kimyasal komposizyondaki değişiklik,ham protein için % 3,23 ile % 20,89; ham selüloz için % 21,75 ile 50,16 ve ham yağ için % 0,15 ile 4.61 olarak gözlemlenmiştir. Tane yemlerden arpa, buğday, mısır ve yulafın ham protein değerleri % 9,26 ile % 12,30; ham selüloz % 4,11 ile % 11,66; ham yağ % 1,72 ile % 4,49 arasında bulunmuştur. Karma yemlerden süt yemi ile besi yeminin ham protein değeri % 13,66 - % 21,91; ham selüloz oranı % 3,48 - % 13,18; ham yağ % 2,09 - % 6,60 aralığında değişmiştir. Net gaz üretim miktarı kaba yemlerde 12,38- 52,54 ml/200 mg KM olarak bulunurken ME ve NEL değerleri de sırasıyla 3,07 ile 10,22 MJ/kg KM, ve 1,08 ve 6,24 M J/kg KM hesaplanmıştır. Yulaf, arpa, buğday ve mısırın ortalama gaz üretim miktarı, 59,20; 63,54; 68,00; ve 67,94 ml/200 mg KM olarak tespit edilmiştir. Mısır, buğday, arpa ve yulafın ME değerleri, 13,08; 12,99; 12,45; 12,10 MJ/kg KM, NEL değerleri ise sırasıyla 8,30; 8,25; 7,84 ve 7,55 MJ/kg KM olarak hesaplanmıştır. Besi yemi ile süt yeminin net gaz üretimi 51,48 ile 51,59 ml/200 mg KM iken, besi yeminin ME ve NEL değerleri, 9,23 - 12,99 ve 5,43 -8,20 MJ/kg KM, süt yeminin ise 9,74 - 12,67; 5,76 - 7,89 MJ/kg KM hesaplanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Marmara Bölgesinde yoğun olarak yetiştirilen ve üretilen yem maddelerinin besin maddeleri kompozisyonu ile enerji değerleri tespit edilerek tablo haline getirilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar bu yem maddelerinin besin değerlerinin daha iyi anlaşılması ve ruminant beslenmesinde temel bilgilerin sağlanmasında bize yardımcı olacaktır., In this study, chemical composition and energy values of some forages, raw materials and commercial feeds commonly used in the Marmara Region for ruminants were determined. Samples of sunflower meal, barley, wheat, oat, corn, wheat bran, grass hay, vetch hay, alfalfa hay and compound feeds were collected for evaluation. The samples of feed were analyzed for their chemical composition. Gas production capacity, in vitro organic matter digestibility and energy values of feeds were studied by Hohenheim Gas Test. The feed samples were incubated with rumen liquor for 24 hours and net gas production was computed. Digestibility values of organic matter and energy content were calculated. Variation in the chemical compositions was observed among forages at 3.23% to 20.89% for crude protein, 21.75% to 50.16% for crude fiber, 0.15% to 4.61% for ether extracts. In grains, crude protein ranged from 9.26% to 12.3%, crude fiber from 4.11% to 11.66%, and ether extract from 1.72% to 4.49%. The values of crude protein, crude fiber and ether extract in commercial dairy cows and beef cattle feed varied between 13.66% and 21.91%, 3.48% and 13.18%, and 2.09% and 6.60%, respectively. Net gas production value of forages was found between 12.38 and 52.54 ml/200 mg DM. ME and NEL contents of forages ranged from 3.07 to 10.22 MJ/kg DM and from 1.08 to 6.24 MJ/kg DM, respectively. The average gas production of oat, barley, wheat and corn was 59.20, 63.59, 68.00 and 67.94 ml/200 mg DM. Calculated ME and NEL values of corn, wheat, barley and oat by in vitro gas production were 13.08, 12.99, 12.45 and 12.10 MJ/kg DM and 8.30, 8.25, 7.84 and 7.55 MJ/kg DM, respectively. Net gas production of beef cattle feed and dairy feed was 51.48 ml/200 mg DM and 51.59 ml/200 mg DM. ME and NEL values of these feeds were 9.23-12.99 and 5.43-8.20 MJ/kg DM for beef cattle and 9.74-12.67 and 5.76-7.89 MJ/kg DM for dairy cattle feed. In this study, the nutrient composition and energy values of feedstuffs commonly grown or produced in the Marmara Region were tabulated. The results should help us better understand the nutrition potential of such feedstuffs and provide basic information in ruminant feeding.
