Background: Breast abscess is a major cause of morbidity in developing countries, most commonly in lactating women and dened as a localised collection of pus within the breast. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness and outcome of USG guided needle aspiration versus incision and drainage of breast abscess. The study involved 100 female patients Material and Methods: of age 18-60 years and diagnosed with breast abscess (clinically and by ultrasonography) were included after taking written consent. Of these 50 had undergone USG guided aspiration (Group A) and 50 had undergone incision and drainage (Group B) of breast abscess. — Zehneria is one of the most diverse genera in Cucurbitaceae with 75 accepted species mainly in Southeast Asia and tropical Africa. Here, we describe Zehneria neorensis, a new species from Neora Valley in the mountains of West Bengal, India, which has 7‐10 cm long twisted fruiting pedicels, the longest pedicels reported in the genus so far. Based on morphological data, we also suggest the transfer of Melothria morobensis to the genus Zehneria. With a molecular phylogenetic and global biogeographic analysis based on 3856 nucleotides of plastid and nuclear ribosomal DNA, we demonstrate that the genus Zehneria most likely originated on the African continent 24 (30‐19) million years ago and spread from there at least five times to Madagascar and three times to Asia. Zehneria neorensis represents an independent colonization event from Africa to India about 11 (15‐7) million years ago. Three lineages reached New Guinea/Australia and finally moved into Polynesia. We infer a rate of at least 20 long-distance dispersal (LDD) events per 10 million years in the genus. This high LDD frequency is most likely a result of the small berry fruits and small flattened seeds of Zehneria, which seem perfectly adapted to long-distance bird dispersal. Field observations are needed to investigate a potential effect of the newly discovered extended and coiling pedicels in Zehneria neorensis on seed dispersal efficiency. The new species adds to a growing list of rather old Cucurbitaceae lineages in the Himalayan foothills, supporting the hypothesis of long climatic stability in the region.

This paper proposes a nonadaptive error demodulation technique with which to track the amplitude, the phase and the frequency information of the grid voltage for single-phase applications. A nonadaptive comb filter, Lyapunov’s estimation law, and half-cycle moving average filters are exploited in order to reconstruct the fundamental orthogonal components. The proposed nonadaptive Lyapunov filter has good bandpass filtering characteristics, thus allowing the rapid rejection of the dc-offset and the harmonics. The proposed open-loop phase angle deviation algorithm is, moreover, a rescuer as regards estimating the fundamental frequency deviation, signifying that it correctly compensates the estimated amplitude and the phase angle information through the use of a mathematical regression approach under off-nominal frequency conditions.

As part of field survey in Dooars and Darjeeling–Sikkim Himalaya (India), a population ascribed to this species was found. Since the different morphology, a new variety has been described and illustrated. Moreover, the typification of the name B. calycinum is also discussed.

Lightweight materials play a vital role in many industries because of their weight reduction, corrosion resistance, and formability. On the other hand, joining this alloy is a very tedious process for everyone in industries due to incompatibility in metallurgical properties. The thick intermetallic formation, porosity, and segregation of alloys in the weld are the possible causes during welding of dissimilar materials by the fusion welding process. Nowadays, these materials have been joined by solid-state welding friction stir welding. AA2024 and high carbon steel (HCS) were used for friction stir spot welding in this investigation. Tool rotational speed, plunge rate, plunge depth, and dwell time were the major influencing process parameters. Design of experiments and response surface methodology were used to optimize the process parameters to attain maximum lap shear strength of AA2024/HCS.

This article, presents a robust single-phase phase-locked loop (PLL)-less frequency, phase and amplitude estimation technique. The proposed scheme, unlike PLL approaches, does not require a rigorous design and tuning process in order to attain a better stability margin. It is important to note that, an improved discrete time oscillator is obtained by involving a comb filter, which helps improve the DC-offset rejection capability and transient response time. Moreover, the notch filter-like behavior and the introduction of imaginary zeros ensure better harmonic removal ability when compared to a known non-adaptive discrete time oscillator. The proposed scheme relies on an open-loop frequency estimation technique that does not involve an inverse trigonometric function for the estimation of fundamental frequency deviation. The feedback-less architecture of the scheme and the avoidance of inverse trigonometric function, therefore, assist in reducing the real-time implementation complexity. However, under off-nominal grid frequency deviations, the amplitude and the phase of the output of the pre-filter will suffer from errors. These errors are compensated by employing a mathematical regression approach. The results are experimentally validated and compared in order to prove the robustness and usefulness of the proposed scheme for single-phase applications.

This paper presents a fast phase-locking and amplitude detection scheme for single-phase applications. The proposed scheme employs a pseudo-rectification process in order to generate even harmonics from the grid signal. The DC-offset component present in the grid signal increases the sensitivity of the pseudo-rectification process, and the design of the pre-filtering stage must, therefore, be completely focused on the rejection of DC-offset and the even-harmonics. The application of a half-cycle pre-filter would consequently appear to be a highly attractive option as regards improving the dynamic response time and even harmonic rejection abilities. However, the elimination of the DC-offset component and the estimation of phase and amplitude information is still a very challenging task. The aforementioned issues are addressed by employing a half-cycle comb filter and a half-cycle non-adaptive Lyapunov orthogonal signal generator. The estimation of single-phase grid parameters is thereby made simpler by employing an improved open-loop frequency estimation, which is capable of providing accurate frequency deviation information with good precision. The research shown herein also reveals that the estimation of the amplitude and phase information differs slightly from the usual mathematical notations owing to the pseudo-rectification method adopted in the proposed work. Note that the pre-filtering stage is non-adaptive in nature, which may lead to steady-state errors in the amplitude and phase information under off-nominal frequency conditions. An online mathematical correction approach dependent on frequency deviation is, therefore, employed in order to obtain the error-free amplitude and phase information. Finally, the robustness of the current proposal is validated by experimentally comparing several known grid parameter estimation schemes using a real-time controller.

Herein we report a hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional network originating from a single source precursor, sym-triisopropylaminotriazine, that is both a donor and an acceptor of hydrogen bonds.

In a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process, the opposite air jets from the air knife nozzles collide with each other in the region near the steel strip edges, causing complex 3D von Kármán vortices. The vortices alter the pressure gradient of wiping air jet over the steel strip edge surfaces, causing uneven coating thickness. Here, the effects of the excess air vortices on zinc coating distribution at the edges are investigated with 3D eddy structures in the region of collision using detached eddy simulation (DES). The wiping pressure and shear stresses, obtained numerically, were used as boundary conditions in an analytical model to predict the stagnation line – a bottleneck region in the zinc wiping process. In comparison with experiments, the proposed analytical model successfully computes the quantity of zinc dragged upward by wiping air and the transient variations in coating values near steel strip edges.

Garcinia stipulata (Clusiaceae) is recollected after a lapse of 53 years from Neora Valley National Park, Darjeeling, India. A taxonomic description with photograph and illustration are provided to facilitate easy identification. Also, a second-step lectotypification is discussed.

Background– Foot ulcers and infections are the most common reason for hospital admission in people with diabetes. Gingival hyperplasia is a typical adverse effect of phenytoin (diphenylhydantoin) treatment for epilepsy. It was possible that phenytoin may be used to stimulate the healing of wounds due to its stimulating impact on connective tissue. Aims and objectives of this study to compare granulation tissue formation by topical agents(phenytoin & povidone). 100 patients with diabetic foot ulcer admitted in Gene Method- ral Surgery at Dr S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur(Rajasthan) were randomly assigned into two groups, the study group consisting of 50 patients who were treated with phenytoin dressing and 50 patients into control group who were treated with povidone dressing, assessment of granulation tissue formation done at the end of 14th day Result- The rate of granulation tissue in phenytoin group was 90.84% as compared to control group which was 80.08% which was statistically signicant (p value < 0.0001). Wound swab cultures repeated on day 14th revealed that there was 86% negative culture in phenytoin group when compared to control group of 68% which also was statistically signicant. The mean hospital stay for the patient in phenytoin group was 26.46 days and in control group, it was 31.22 days. Conclusion- By promoting broblast proliferation and reducing collagenase activity, phenytoin dressing effectively accelerates the development of granulation tissue. By virtue of its inherent antibacterial activity and indirectly through their effects on anti-inammatory cells and neovascularization, it not only accelerates granulation tissue but also decreases bacterial load as compared to conventional dressing. Phenytoin helps to improve overall results by preparing the foot ulcer for early grafting

1H spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) measurements were performed to probe the dynamic behavior of water in aqueous suspensions of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and a layered smectite clay mineral with different degrees of concentration. 1H-T1 experiments were carried out over a wide frequency domain, ranging from a few kilohertz to 500 MHz, with the aid of conventional and fast field cycling nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. The experimental relaxometry data illustrate differences between the dynamic behavior of bulk water and that confined in the vicinity of CNC-clay surfaces. Clay alone in moderate concentration was found to enforce almost no effect on the water dynamics, whereas introducing CNCs to the system presented a significantly enhanced relaxivity. The modeling of the relaxation dispersions allowed the determination of dynamical processes and variables explaining the dynamic behavior of water in CNC-clay suspensions. It turned out that reorientations mediated by translational displacements are a leading NMR relaxation mechanism for water interacting with the surfaces of CNC-clay particles in the low-frequency domain. In the high-frequency regime, however, the inner-sphere paramagnetic relaxation mechanism dominates, which is caused by the interaction of water protons with dissolved Fe ions.

A cylindrical barrel is a crucial part of the hydraulic cylinder that enables the mechanical system to apply high power to get the desired work, such as moving, pressing, and lifting the high-weight materials, done. The smoothness in the functioning of the machinery performing the tasks of these kinds is directly linked with the quality of the interior surface finish of the hydraulic cylinder’s cylindrical barrel. In this study, the inside surface of a real-time hydraulic cylinder's barrel is completed to achieve a fine finish. The cylindrical barrel of the hydraulic cylinder with a fine-finished internal surface causes the related machinery to consume less power to get the desired work done. The smooth functioning of different kinds of machinery is affected by the level of internal surface finish of the cylindrical barrel of the hydraulic cylinder. For investigating the best parameters of the magnetorheological finishing process over the interior surface of the hydraulic cylinder’s cylindrical barrel, the response surface methodology has been used. Through 60 min of magnetorheological-finishing using optimal finishing conditions, the final surface roughness is achieved up to 40 nm from 380 nm of initially honed roughness. Also, the improvement in dimensional and geometric accuracies has been analysed through surface waviness and circularity measurement before and after the magnetorheological-finished surface. Through the scanning electron microscopy tests, the enhancement in surface consistency of the cylindrical barrel of the hydraulic cylinder’s finished surface is analysed. The overall results demonstrate the significant importance of the rotating-magnetorheological honing process to fine finish the inside surface of the cylindrical barrel of the hydraulic cylinder.

This paper shows a proposal for a non-adaptive pre-filter based three-phase type-I synchronous reference frame-based phase locked-loop (PLL) algorithm. This solution is simpler than the widely accepted type-II PLL algorithms, which require a great deal of effort as regards tuning the proportional-integral gains. In the proposed approach, a type-I controller that is merely a proportional gain with a fixed magnitude is employed. Moreover, improvements are made to the implementation of the non-adaptive demodulation based pre-filtering approach, which consist of moving average filters and delayed signal cancellation operators. In the event of a fault, the improved pre-filter structure is still incapable of rejecting the fundamental negative sequence (FNS) component. We propose to overcome this issue by using a non-adaptive computationally simplified structure to improve the immunity to the adverse effects of FNS. It is consequently possible to avoid the dependence on the frequency feedback loop while involving a simple and fast feed-forward error compensation approach. Finally, the performance of the proposed PLL is experimentally verified using a real time controller to demonstrate its feasibility for grid synchronisation applications.

The study investigates the factors influencing business continuity during adversities like COVID-19. It further sheds light on priorities for preparedness measures that need to be taken to ensure continuity during these adversities. Exploratory research was conducted in the form of focussed interviews with 20 senior management industry professionals, and these were analyzed using N-Vivo, and four important determinants of business continuity were identified based on which a research model was conceptualized using business continuity as dependent variable and others as independent variables. The model was further tested using quantitative research. For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared, and a total of 200 responses were collected representing 26 sectors. These responses were analyzed using factor and variance analysis, and a multiple regression analysis was performed to test the role of these variables on business continuity. It was further concluded that the factors that ensure business continuity differ according to the industry in which the business is operating. © 2022 Information Resources Management Association. INSPIRESat-1 (IS-1) is a small scientific satellite being developed jointly by the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the United States, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in India, the National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. This paper describes the science objectives of the IS-1 mission, the engineering and current development status. The IS-1 has completed all functional and performance tests as well as all environmental tests. The spacecraft is manifested on the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C-52 mission in 2021. The IS-1 carries two scientific instruments: the Compact Ionospheric Probe (CIP) developed at NCU for studying Earth's dynamic ionosphere and the Dual-zone Aperture X-ray Solar Spectrometer (DAXSS) developed at LASP for studying the highly-variable solar X-ray radiation. It also carries a Command and Data Handling board developed by IIST. The primary science objectives of the INSPIRESat-1 are twofold. First, using CIP to characterize the temporal and spatial distributions of small-scale plasma irregularities like plasma bubbles in the ionosphere. Secondly, IS-1 aims to provide a greater understanding of why the Sun's corona is orders of magnitude hotter than the photosphere, why there is an abundance of elements change during different solar events, and how these events (observed with greater soft x-ray fidelity) affect the earth's ionosphere. The International Satellite Program in Research and Education (INSPIRE) is a consortium of universities with active space programs, formed to advance space science and engineering. This letter reports a digital signal processing based frequency estimation technique that relies on the storage of fundamental three-phase grid voltage samples. Unlike phase-locked loop algorithms, the proposed algorithm does not require the phase error information when estimating the grid frequency. Moreover, only four consecutive samples of the fundamental orthogonal components are required in order to estimate the deviation in the grid frequency. The proposed scheme is facilitated with an inherent nonadaptive comb filtering behavior in order to reject the dc offset and harmonics while attaining a good immunity to voltage sag and the fundamental negative sequence component. Additionally, the off-nominal harmonic rejection capability of the proposed frequency estimator is enhanced by using a postfiltering method. The experimental validations reported in this study demonstrate that the proposed frequency estimator is suitable for three-phase grid applications.
