Yttrium and aluminium co-substitutions on lanthanum molybdate ceramics with the nominal formula La1.75Y0.25Mo2-xAlxO9-?? (LYMA, x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) were synthesized by citric acid-nitrate combustion method and used for preparation of solid electrolyte for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (ITSOFCs). Phase composition, structure, conductivity and electrical properties of LYMA have been investigated as a function of aluminium content by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively. Experimental results showed that the substitution of La and Mo with appropriate amounts of Y and Al can effectively stabilize the ?-form of La2Mo2O9 at room temperature and inhibit its phase transition to ?-form. The LYMA synthesized by combustion method exhibited a better sinterability where relative density of the samples sintered at 950?C for 4 h was higher than 95%TD. The performance of the LYMA electrolyte was found to be related to Al-content. The La1.75Y0.25Mo1.8Al0.2O8.7 exhibited high oxide ion conductivity (?= 42mS/cm at 800?C) and low electrical activation energy (Ea = 1.18 eV). These preliminary results indicate that the LYMA is a promising electrolyte for IT-SOFCs.

Existing structures may suffer from resistance deterioration due to repeated attacks. The modeling of resistance deterioration is a critical ingredient in the reliability assessment and service life prediction of these degraded structures. In this paper, an explicit compound Poisson process-based model is developed to describe the shock deterioration of structural resistance, where the magnitude of each shock deterioration increment is modeled by a Gamma-distributed random variable. The moments (mean value and variance) and the distribution function of the cumulative shock deterioration are derived in a closed form, based on a proposed W-function. A method for the efficient calculation of the W-function is presented, which reduces to the Bessel type I function if the shock deterioration increment is exponentially distributed (a special case of Gamma distribution). The proposed shock deterioration model is applicable to either a stationary or a nonstationary Poisson process of random jumps. Subsequently, the overall resistance deterioration is modeled as the linear combination of gradual and shock deteriorations, based on which the proposed model can be used in the time-dependent reliability assessment of aging structures efficiently. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed deterioration model by estimating the time-dependent reliability of an aging bridge. It is found that a smaller threshold for the degraded resistance leads to greater mean value and standard deviation of the time to failure, and this effect is enhanced by a smaller occurrence rate of the shock deterioration.

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship among information processing, risk/benefit perception and the COVID-19 vaccination intention of OHCs users with the heuristic-systematic model (HSM).MethodsThis study conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire via an online survey among Chinese adults. A structural equation model (SEM) was used to examine the research hypotheses.ResultsSystematic information processing positively influenced benefit perception, and heuristic information processing positively influenced risk perception. Benefit perception had a significant positive effect on users' vaccination intention. Risk perception had a negative impact on vaccination intention. Findings revealed that differences in information processing methods affect users' perceptions of risk and benefit, which decide their vaccination intention.ConclusionOnline health communities can provide more systematic cues and users should process information systematically to increase their perceived benefits, consequently increase their willingness to receive COVID-19 vaccine.

BackgroundCongenital Morgagni hernia (CMH) is a rare midline defect involving herniation of abdominal viscera into the thoracic cavity through triangular parasternal gaps in the diaphragm.MethodsThe medical records of three patients with CMH admitted to the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University between 2018 and 2022 were retrospectively reviewed. Pre-operative diagnosis was based on chest x-ray, chest computerized tomography, and barium enema. All patients were treated with single-site laparoscopic ligation of the hernia sac.ResultsHernia repair was successful in all patients (males; age: 14 months, 30 months, 48 months). The average operative time for repair of a unilateral hernia was 20 ± 5 min. Volume of surgical blood loss was 2–3 ml. There was no damage to organs such as the liver or intestines, or to tissues such as the pericardium or the phrenic nerve. Patients were allowed a fluid diet 6–8 h after surgery, and remained on bed rest until 16 h after surgery. No postoperative complications occurred, and patients were discharged on postoperative Day 2 or 3. No symptoms or complications were noted during the 1–48 months of follow-up. Aesthetic outcomes were satisfactory.ConclusionsSingle-site laparoscopic ligation of the hernia sac provides pediatric surgeons a safe and effective technique for repair of CMH in infants and children. The procedure is straightforward, operative time and surgical blood loss are minimal, recurrence is unlikely, and aesthetic outcomes are satisfactory.

The main hallmark of myocardial substrate metabolism in cardiac hypertrophy or heart failure is a shift from fatty acid oxidation to greater reliance on glycolysis. However, the close correlation between glycolysis and fatty acid oxidation and underlying mechanism by which causes cardiac pathological remodelling remain unclear. We confirm that KLF7 simultaneously targets the rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis, phosphofructokinase-1, liver, and long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, a key enzyme for fatty acid oxidation. Cardiac-specific knockout and overexpression KLF7 induce adult concentric hypertrophy and infant eccentric hypertrophy by regulating glycolysis and fatty acid oxidation fluxes in male mice, respectively. Furthermore, cardiac-specific knockdown phosphofructokinase-1, liver or overexpression long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase partially rescues the cardiac hypertrophy in adult male KLF7 deficient mice. Here we show that the KLF7/PFKL/ACADL axis is a critical regulatory mechanism and may provide insight into viable therapeutic concepts aimed at the modulation of cardiac metabolic balance in hypertrophied and failing heart.

Background Hypospadias is a common congenital malformation in pediatric urology. Surgery is the only treatment option for hypospadias, and urinary fistula is the most common complication after hypospadias repair. Purpose The purpose of this study was to establish a model of surgical hypospadias in New Zealand rabbits followed by TIP urethroplasty, postoperative administration of Astragalus polysaccharides (APS), and to study the effect and mechanism of APS on the prevention and treatment of urinary fistula after surgery. Material and Methods New Zealand male rabbits were randomly divided into 5 groups: Control group, was fed normal feed without surgery; The operation group, TIP was performed after the establishment of a surgical hypospadias model, and normal feed feeding was given after surgery. In the intervention groups, after the establishment of the surgical hypospadias model, TIP was performed, and the low dose of APS (100mg/kg), the medium dose (200mg/kg), and the high dose (300mg/kg) were mixed into feed feeding, and the urinary fistula rate was statistically calculated after 10 consecutive days of feeding. Results The incidence of urinary fistula was significantly lower than that in the surgical group after the addition of APS, and with the increase of the intervention dose of APS, the incidence of urinary fistula showed a decreasing trend. After removing penile tissue, HE examination and WB analysis were performed, compared with the control group, the urethral epithelial cells at the incision site of the operation group were loosely arranged, the layers were reduced, and the inflammatory cells were significantly increased. Compared with the operation group, the urethral epithelial cells at the incision site of the APS intervention group were closely arranged, the layers increased, the inflammatory cells were significantly reduced, and the number of new capillaries increased. In addition, compared with the operation group, the expression levels of TNF-a and NF-kb2 proteins in the intervention group were significantly reduced, and the levels of TGF-β1 and FGF-1 were significantly increased. Conclusion The intervention of APS can reduce local inflammatory response, enhance local fibrosis, and reduce the incidence of urinary fistula after hypospadias.

Background: Gastric duplication cysts (GDC) are a rare congenital disease primarily found in the left adrenal region in neonates and children. Due to a lack of typical clinical manifestations, GDCare often preoperatively treated as adrenal cysts (AC). Methods: We retrospectively report six child cases of retroperitoneal cysts presenting as left adrenal masses between January 2012 and January 2022. Patients aged from 10 months to 10 years, including three females and three males, were all treated by surgery and discharged without serious complications. Clinical data such as medical history, clinical manifestations, auxiliary examination, operation process, and postoperative pathological diagnosis were examined in detail. Results: Only one male had mild epigastric pain that could be relieved spontaneously, and the rest had no obvious clinical manifestations. Endocrinological evaluations indicated no positive findings. The stomach-cyst distance in computerized tomography (CT) scans and cyst-kidney distance in ultrasound scans were significantly different in the patient with GDC. All patients underwent surgical resection and were preoperatively diagnosed with a left AC. One patient underwent open cystectomy, and the others underwent laparoscopic cystectomy. Surgical access was transperitoneal in five patients and retroperitoneal in one patient. Mean operative time was 129.7±15.46 min, mean oral feeding time was 9.0±2.58hours, and mean length of hospital stay was 6.5±0.96 days. No serious complications were observed, and their pathological diagnosis was AC, except for one case of GDC. All patients recovered and had no complications during follow-up. Conclusion: GDC is easily misdiagnosed as left AC.Accurate diagnoses are mainly based on intraoperative findings and postoperative pathological examinations. However, in addition to gastrointestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain and vomiting, the stomach-cyst distance in CT scans and cyst-kidney distance in ultrasound scans can be used as critical evidence for preoperative diagnosis GDC or AC. Laparoscopic surgery is safe and effective, and a transperitoneal approach is recommended for GDC.

Odd-parity superconductivity is recognized as a key ingredient to realize topological superconductivity. In Bi2Se3-based bulk topological superconductors, the odd-parity pairing, which spontaneously breaks the threefold rotational symmetry of the crystal, leading to a subsidiary nematic order, was discovered. The nematic superconducting state can be identified by thermodynamic measurement, nuclear magnetic resonance measurement, ac- $$\chi$$ measurement, magnetic torque measurement or magnetoresistance measurement. Here, the single crystal of topological superconductor Pd $$_x$$ Bi2Te3 was grown. Its upper critical fields were obtained by magnetoresistance measurement in various magnetic field orientations parallel to the basal plane. The in-plane upper critical fields clearly demonstrate a twofold symmetry that break the threefold crystal symmetry. This provides experimental evidence that Pd-doped Bi2Te3 is a nematic topological superconductor similar to the Cu-, Sr-, and Nb-doped Bi2Se3.

Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most common chronic multifactorial diseases, which is associated with the increased concentration of glucose in the blood. Therefore, the utilization of blood lowering agents is clearly a promising approach which can lead to a suppression of the evaluated blood glucose, and thus curing T2DM and other complication. In this study, we evaluated the glucose lowering effect of a varieties of amino acids (alanine and histidine), dipeptides (carnosine and α-alanine-L-histidine), and tripeptide (glutathione) by reacting with glucose, fructose, and sucrose under 37°C and pH 7.4 to mimic their reaction in physiological condition. By measuring the reduction of reactants and the formation of Maillard reaction products over the course of 21 days’ storage, we found that the glucose lowering effect of carnosine was better than the counterparts. The histidine residue in carnosine may contribute to its glucose lowing effect while β-amino acid β-alanine residue could facilitate the glucose lowering effect of carnosine by maintaining its chemical stability during the storage. These results may open up new avenues for the applications of bioactive peptide carnosine as a natural blood sugar lowering agent to control T2DM.

The dramatic tropical cyclone (TC) damages in coastal areas around the world have gained significant attention from asset owners, policy makers and engineers. The estimate of TC damage for a specific region of interest is informative of the preparedness and resilience of the area subjected to TC hazards, and thus should be conducted using a quantitative approach. A reasonable indicator of TC damage should incorporate not only the TC characteristics (e.g., intensity, frequency and duration) but also the vulnerability of the TC-prone areas. In this paper, a new indicator is proposed to measure the TC threat, which takes into account both the TC characteristics and the vulnerability of the area. The indicator has two forms: the first one considers the maximum wind speed only and the second incorporates the integrated wind speed profile. The historical damage scenarios along the US East Coast, as well as those in Hong Kong, China, are examined to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed indicator. Results show that the proposed indicator is capable of representing the impact of TC wind field profile on the TC damage costs. The proposed indicator could be further used to project the future TC damages for areas subjected to TC hazards.

According to China's Seventh National Census, 18.70% of a total of 1.41 billion people were 60 or older and 13.50% were 65 or older, so China's population is increasingly aging. In conjunction with China's socioeconomic and scientific and technological development and its promotion of medical insurance-related policies, rational medication management for the elderly is a concern in order to control the risk of polypharmacy. This paper summarizes and discusses the following five key issues inherent in rational medication management: i) an increase in serious polypharmacy and the potential risks of medication; ii) a lack of medication consultation service and medication withdraw without healthcare providers' supervision; iii) poor medication compliance among the elderly; iv) insufficient quantity and incompetence of pharmaceutical staffing; and v) limited awareness of pharmaceutical services and lack of trust in the ability of pharmacists. Based on a discussion of factors influencing these issues, suggestions have been put forward in the hopes that China emphasizes rational medication management in order to reduce the risk of polypharmacy and the disease burden of the elderly in China.

We report the design, synthesis, structure, and properties of two complex layered phosphide nitrides, $Ak$Th$_2$Mn$_4$P$_4$N$_2$ ($Ak$ = Rb, Cs), which contain anti-fluorite-type [Mn$_2$P$_2$] bilayers separated by fluorite-type [Th2N2] layers as a result of the intergrowth between AkMn$_2$P$_2$ and ThMnPN. The new compounds are featured with an intrinsic hole doping associated with the interlayer charge transfer and a built-in chemical pressure from the [Th$_2$N$_2$] layers, both of which are reflected by the changes in the lattice and the atomic position of phosphorus. The measurements of magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, and specific heat indicate existence of local moments as well as itinerant electrons in relation with d-p hybridizations. The expected dominant antiferromagnetic interactions with enhanced d-p hybridizations were demonstrated by the first-principles calculations only when additional Coulomb repulsions are included. The density of states at the Fermi level derived from the specific-heat analysis are 3.5 and 7.5 times of the calculated ones for Ak = Rb and Cs, respectively, suggesting strong electron correlations in the title compounds.

For the disabled, paying attention to their health status is the starting point to discovering their survival problems, while meeting their care needs is the end point to solving their survival problems. As the country with the largest number of disabled elderly in the world, how to ensure this group could obtain appropriate home care is a major public health issue facing China. Thus, we conducted a cross-sectional study from October to December 2020 to explore the basic characteristics and health status of disabled elderly in different types of care who are living at home in 37 streets in Shanghai, as well as the individual care needs and its relevance. We observed the significant differences in the number of diagnoses (p = 0.03), smoking (p = 0.009), drinking (p = 0.016), exercise (p = 0.001), activity of daily living (p < 0.0001), and the quality of life (p < 0.0001) across care types. The care needs of the disabled elderly are diversified, of which a vast majority of them have not been fully guaranteed. The urgent need for improving the identification accuracy of care needs of disabled elderly, as well as the development of elaborate and personalized care programs for them, is needed.

ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy of two different surgical approaches during and after pyeloplasty according to the degree/severity of hydronephrosis factor.Materials and methodsSixty child patients with UPJ obstruction admitted to our hospital from August 2019 to October 2021 were collected. Patients who underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty (RPLP) were enrolled into Group A (n = 20), while those who received transperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty (TLP) were selected as Group B (n = 40). Clinical parameters, including gender, age, laterality of UPJ obstruction, degree/severity of hydronephrosis, body weight, operation time, drainage tube indwelling time, complete oral feeding time, and length of hospital stay, were compared between the two groups.ResultsAll 60 child patients were operated upon successfully without conversion to open surgery. There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, laterality of UPJ obstruction, and body weight between the two groups, while the operation time of TLP was shorter than that of RPLP, indicating a statistically significant difference (P < 0.001). The differences in complete oral feeding time, drainage tube indwelling time, and length of hospital stay were statistically significant between the two groups, and RPLP was superior to TLP in terms of postoperative recovery time (P < 0.001). A stratified comparison showed that there were no statistically significant differences in anteroposterior diameter ≤ 20 mm, while there were statistically significant differences in anteroposterior diameter >20 mm. Hydronephrosis is reviewed after 3 months of the operation, degree/severity of hydronephrosis have been reduced.ConclusionBoth RPLP and TLP are safe and feasible in the treatment of UPJ obstruction, and their overall surgical effects are equivalent. For child patients with anteroposterior diameter ≤ 20 mm, RPLP is available, while patients with anteroposterior diameter >20 mm, TLP is recommended.

This paper proposes explicit approaches for time-dependent reliability assessment of aging structures, taking into account the correlation associated with the load process and that arising from the resistance deterioration process. For the load process, temporal correlation may arise due to the impacts of underlying common causes. With this regard, a closed-form solution is developed for structural reliability, which models the sequence of load effects as a Markov process. Furthermore, the resistance deterioration is by nature a non-increasing stochastic process with autocorrelation on the temporal scale. The Gamma process is used to describe the stochastic behaviour of resistance deterioration, based on which an explicit reliability method is derived. The proposed reliability methods are straightforward to implement and thus are promising to be adopted in practical engineering regarding the safety evaluation of aging structures. Illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and applicability of the proposed approaches.

Background Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) features high aggressiveness, metastasis rate, drug resistance as well as poor prognosis. Osteopontin (OPN) is a key protein in the process of osteogenesis and has been found to be a new tumor marker in recent years. This study will discuss the regulatory role that OPN plays in TNBC as well as its unconcealed mechanism. Methods The cell viability was tested utilizing CCK-8 while Transwell as well as wound healing was adopted to test cell invasive and migrative capabilities. The antiferromagnetic topological insulator has attracted lots of attention recently, as its intrinsic magnetism and topological property make it a potential material to realize the quantum anomalous Hall effect at relative high temperature. Until now, only MnBi2Te4 is predicted and grown successfully. The other MB2T4-family materials predicted (MB2T4: M = transition metal or rare earth element, B = Bi or Sb, T = Te, Se, or S) with not only antiferromagnetic topological property but also rich and exotic topological quantum states and dynamically stable (or metastable) structure have not been realized on experiment completely. Here, MnBi2Te4 single crystals have been grown successfully by us. It shows typical antiferromagnetic character with Neel temperature of 24.5 K and a spin-flop transition at H ≈ 35,000 Oe, 1.8 K. In order to obtain the other members of MB2T4-family materials, it is necessary to understand the growth mode of MnBi2Te4. Its growth mode may be the layer-inserting growth mode based on symmetry, which is supported by our X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) result, as the intrinsic chemical states of Mn and Te of MnBi2Te4 are the same with those of inserting material α-MnTe. Understanding the growth mode of MnBi2Te4 can help us to grow the other members of MB2T4-family materials.

Background The most ordinary subtype of lung cancer is lung adenocarcinoma (LuAC), which is characterized by strong metastatic ability. And LuAC rates in Xuanwei leads to the poor prognosis and high death rate. In this study, we systematically explored the molecular mechanism of LuAC bone metastasis in Xuanwei by transcriptome sequencing. Methods RNA Sequencing was conducted to explore the noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) expression profiles in primary LuAC and LuAC bone metastasis. We identified differentially expressed mRNAs (DEmRNAs), miRNAs (DEmiRNAs), lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and circRNAs (DEcircRNAs). Bioinformatics analyses the possible relationships and functions of the LuAC bone metastasis-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). And qRT-PCR was performed to evaluate the expression of these differently expressed genes in serum. Results A total of 2,141 DEmRNAs, 43 DEmiRNAs, 136 DElncRNAs and 706 DEcircRNAs were identified in the Xuanwei patients with primary LuAC vs. LuAC bone metastasis, respectively. The circRNA/miRNA/mRNA and lncRNA/miRNA/mRNA networks of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis were built, and the gene expression mechanisms regulated by ncRNAs were unveiled via the ceRNA regulatory networks. We observe that lncRNA (ADAMTS9-AS2, TEX41, DLEU2, LINC00152)-miR-223-3p-SCARB1 and hsa_circ_0000053-miR-196a-5p/miR-196b-5p-HOXA5 ceRNA networks might play an important role in bone metastasis of Xuanwei LuAC. Conclusions We comprehensively identified ceRNA regulatory networks of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis as well as revealed the contribution of different ncRNAs expression profiles. Our data demonstrate the association between mRNAs and ncRNAs in the metastasis mechanism of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis.

The development of photosensitive slurries for additive manufacturing has attracted great interest due to their correlation with the final properties of the fabricated parts. This paper focus on the printing quality control in digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing of advanced ceramics. Systematic experiments were performed to assess the effects of the exposure time and printing angle on the three-point bending strength of the fabricated samples. The exposure time affected the bending strength of the printed zirconia ceramic dramatically. When the weak exposure time is 1 s and the strong exposure time is 13 s, the average bending strength can reach 580 MPa while Weibull modulus can reach 8.84. Meanwhile, the printing angle also affected the bending strength mechanical sample printed at 45° exhibits the worst performance.

Different drugs target OCs at different developmental stages; however, almost no Suitable drug-targeted delivery systems exist. Therefore, we designed two dual-targeting nanoparticles to target OCs at different functional stages. Using the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor (CGRPR), which OC precursors highly express, and specific TRAPpeptides screened in the bone resorption lacuna, where mature OCs function, respectively, two types of dual-targeted nanoparticles were constructed. Afterwards, nanoparticles were grafted with hyaluronic acid (HA), which specifically binds to CD44 on the surface of the OCs.

In 2017, the World Health Organization highlighted polypharmacy as one of the key focus areas of the Global Patient Safety Challenge on Medication Safety. According to the experience of developed countries, the provision of primary pharmaceutical care plays a very important role in the intervention of polypharmacy in the elderly. It is necessary to assess the associations between elderly polypharmacy status and primary care in developing countries. The findings of this paper provide the prevalence of polypharmacy in patients with comorbid hypertension, and the factors associated with it. A total of 19,332 elderly patients with hypertension were completed, among which the mean (SD) number of diseases was 4.83 (1.99), the mean (SD) daily maximum number of drugs was 5.13 (2.89), and the rate of polypharmacy was 50.5%. Age, living areas, total number of visits, preference for medical institutions and the number of diseases were associated with polypharmacy. Among them, advanced age, greater number of visits and diseases are the risk factors of polypharmacy for elderly patients with comorbid hypertension. The rate of polypharmacy in patients who intend to seek treatment in community healthcare centers is low. A total of 9,603 pharmaceutical workers worked in Shanghai public hospitals in 2020, among them 52.0% worked in the central city area, and more than 70% worked in secondary and tertiary hospitals. There was a large mismatch between patients' medical preference and the number of pharmaceutical personnel. As a consequence, it is necessary to strengthen the development of community pharmaceutical care in primary medical institutions for elderly polypharmacy management.

Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disease. To date, more than 1000 genes have been shown to be associated with ASD, and only a few of these genes account for more than 1% of autism cases. Klf7 is an important transcription factor of cell proliferation and differentiation in the nervous system, but whether klf7 is involved in autism is unclear. Methods: We first performed ChIP-seq analysis of klf7 in N2A cells, then performed behavioral tests and RNA-seq in klf7+/− mice, and finally restored mice with adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated overexpression of klf7 in klf7+/− mice. Results: Klf7 targeted genes are enriched with ASD genes, and 631 ASD risk genes are also differentially expressed in klf7+/− mice which exhibited the core symptoms of ASD. When klf7 levels were increased in the central nervous system (CNS) in klf7+/− adult mice, deficits in social interaction, repetitive behavior and majority of dysregulated ASD genes were rescued in the adults, suggesting transcriptional regulation. Moreover, knockdown of klf7 in human brain organoids caused dysregulation of 517 ASD risk genes, 344 of which were shared with klf7+/− mice, including some high-confidence ASD genes. Conclusions: Our findings highlight a klf7 regulation of ASD genes and provide new insights into the pathogenesis of ASD and promising targets for further research on mechanisms and treatments.

We present a new magnetometry method integrating an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in a single-crystal diamond with an extended dynamic range for monitoring the fast changing magnetic-field. The NV-center spin resonance frequency is tracked using a closed-loop frequency locked technique with fast frequency hopping to achieve a 10 kHz measurement bandwidth, thus, allowing for the detection of fast changing magnetic signals up to 0.723 T/s.This technique exhibits an extended dynamic range subjected to the working bandwidth of the microwave source. This extended dynamic range can reach up to 4.3 mT, which is 86 times broader than the intrinsic dynamic range. The essential components for NV spin control and signal processing such as signal generation, microwave frequency control, data processing and readout are integrated in a board-level system. With this platform, we demonstrate broadband magnetometry with an optimized sensitivity of 4.2 nT-Hz-1/2. This magnetometry method has the potential to be implemented in a multichannel frequency locked vector magnetometer suitable for a wide range of practical applications such as magnetocardiography and high-precision current sensors., Comment: 18 pages, 9 figures

The incidence of atherosclerosis (AS), a major contributor to cardiovascular disease, is steadily rising along with an increasingly older population worldwide. Pyroptosis, a form of inflammatory programmed cell death, determines the release of pro-inflammatory mediators by endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and atheroma-associated macrophages and foam cells, thereby playing a critical role in AS progression. Canonical pyroptosis is mediated by inflammasome formation, activation of caspase-1, and maturation and release of proinflammatory cytokines. Electrical stimulation (ES) is a noninvasive, safe therapy that has been shown to alleviate symptoms in several health conditions. Here, we investigated the anti-inflammatory and anti-pyroptotic effects of ES in human THP-1 macrophages treated with the dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitor Val-boroPro (VbP). We found that ES downregulated NOD-like receptor family protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, ASC, and caspase-1 expression and abrogated the release of Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and Interleukin-18 (IL-18), indicating effective pyroptosis inhibition. These changes were paralleled by a reduction in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, reversal of VbP-induced sirtuin3 (Sirt3) downregulation, deacetylation of ATG5, and induction of autophagy. These findings suggest that ES may be a viable strategy to counteract pyroptosis-mediated inflammation in AS by raising Sirt3 to promote autophagy and inhibit ROS generation.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are environmentally efficient energy conversion devices, but are partially limited by the complicated fabrication procedure. In this work, dense 8 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) ceramics were successfully realized through a DLP (digital light processing) stereolithography method and the electrolyte self-supported fuel cell was also tested at 800 °C. The sintering behavior of the as-printed planar samples were investigated and a fully dense ceramic can be achieved at 1450 °C. The total conductivity of the sintered 8YSZ can reach 2.18 × 10−2 S cm−1 at a test temperature of 800 °C, which is acceptable for practical application. For the electrolyte self-supported fuel cell test, a power density of 114.3 mW cm−2 can be achieved when Ni-8YSZ cermet and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) were used as anode and cathode. It was demonstrated that 3D printing is a promising processing technique to build up electrolyte self-supported SOFCs with desired structure for the future development.

Mn-based ZrCuSiAs-type pnictides ThMnPnN (Pn = P, As) containing PbO-type Th2N2 layers were synthesized. The crystal and magnetic structures are determined using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction. While neutron diffraction indicates a C-type antiferromagnetic state at 300 K, the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility shows cusps at 36 and 52 K respectively for ThMnPN and ThMnAsN. The susceptibility cusps are ascribed to a spontaneous antiferromagnetic-to-antiferromagnetic transition for Mn2+ moments, which is observed for the first time in Mn-based ZrCuSiAs-type compounds. In addition, measurements of the resistivity and specific heat suggest an abnormal increase in the density of states at the Fermi energy. The result is discussed in terms of the internal chemical pressure effect.
