Addressing the health needs of refugees and migrants is a complex task requiring multiple, intersecting approaches. It requires a commitment to human rights and equality, consistently applied health access policies, culturally responsive health programmes and services, integrated prevention and treatment approaches, strategies for addressing the social determinants of health, heath information systems for monitoring migrant population needs, and strong collaboration between Member States. The findings of this rapid review of English language literature and reports can be used to inform policies, interventions and practices for addressing the health needs of refugees and migrants, including the development of the Global Compact on Refugees, the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, and the Draft Global Action Plan to Promote the Health of Refugees and Migrants.
