Scissor lifts are applied for transporting or lifting various objects. Hydraulic cylinders are used to raise or lower platforms which have many ways to arrange. This study aims to determine appropriate dimensions in design 1X hydraulic scissor lifts. Using symbolic variables to control the dimensions, positions of the cylinder are calculated to ensure the effectiveness of working space and forces in the cylinders. Results obtained from the calculations indicate the practice of numerical methods and can be used to determine optimal dimensions for design 1X scissor lifts.

Machining damage generated during a trimming process of CFRP composite may reduce the integrity of machined surface, hence, this can impact highly on the mechanical properties of composite structures in services. For this reason, the damage caused in the machined surface should be quantified and correlated to mechanical properties of composite structures. In this study, the machining damage generated during the trimming of CFRP composite specimens will be characterized using roughness criteria including both 2D and 3D. These criteria will be correlated to compressive strength. The results reveal that 3D roughness criterion seems to be better than 2D one when both are utilized.

Nowadays, the Internet has become a huge network composed of multiple autonomous systems (ASs) which are managed by various network operators. Network operators try to apply different network optimization technologies, based on link state information such as link bandwidth, link delay, to improve the network performance. However, inter-domain network optimization is hard to realize due to the lack of inter-domain link state information while one AS can only gather the link state information inside itself. Obviously, network information sharing among different ASs is necessary. Supporting for "trustless disintermediation", blockchain technology provides capabilities for cooperation among different ASs. We propose a new blockchain-based framework named BGP Link State Sharing Chain(BGP-LSChain), to help different AS owners sharing inter-domain link state. In this framework, we integrate a data verification mechanism and an AS credit rating mechanism to prevent fake data, which are realized by various smart contracts to control data sharing, data verification and credit rating. We implement an BGP-LSChain prototype and conduct experiments to evaluate it. The results show that while helping sharing data among different AS owners, the time cost of BGP-LSChain operations is within a reasonable and acceptable range.

Precision of pests, in stored grain insect population density, has been a hot and difficult research in pest detection and control system. The accuracy of prediction of pest density will directly affect to warehouse grain temperature and the food quality etc. In order to improve the accuracy, the paper which using the depth study method, established an insects density prediction mode with the depth of the belief network as the core. The model is applied to the algorithm of deep learning predictive control. According to the temperature and humidity of the grain obtained from the actual measurement and the initial density of the pest, we predicted the pest density. Simulation results show that the root mean square error is small between the predictive value and actual value, high prediction accuracy. The deep learning algorithm is applied to the population density of pests is effective.

Agriculture and traditional agriculture products plays a significant role in the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in developing countries, including Vietnam. Cost-benefit Analysis and a mixed methodology were applied to evaluate the economic performance of traditional chicken production in Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam by region and scale. The data were drawn respectively from 64 sample households in Huong Thuy and Nam Dong district in 2017. The Cost-benefit analysis shows that Huong Thuy tends to have a lower production cost and thus a higher production benefit as compared to those of Nam Dong district. This study also indicates evidence of the importance of veterinary, mortality rate, scale of production and region on the performance of chicken farmer in the province.

An approach for improving quality of motion control and stabilizing for two-wheeled mobile robot which is affected by internal and external distubances is presented in this paper. An output feedback controller using backstepping combined with high gain observer (HGOs) technique is designed. The decoupling technique for coupling system of two-wheeled mobile robot is also applied. Results of simulation show the effectiveness of the designed controller.

International audience; This paper presents a constructive design of a formation controller for leader-follower quadrotors in cluttered environment. To avoid collision in the formation and with obstacles, a path planning and collision avoidance function based on visibility graph, Dijkstra algorithm and smooth step function are embedded in the controller. An attitude extraction algorithm which uses the conversion between quaternions and Euler angles to achieve the global results is also employed. The external disturbance are eliminated by estimation update laws. Simulations illustrate the results.

This thesis covers two topics of robotic grasping: stable grasping and semantic grasping. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the stable grasping problem, where we focus on a grasping pipeline that robustly executes a planned-to-be stable grasp under uncertainty. To this end, we first present a learning method which estimates the stability of a grasp based on tactile feedback and hand kinematic data. We then show our hand adjustment algorithm which works with the grasp stability estimator and synthesizes hand adjustments to optimize a grasp towards a stable one. With these two methods, we obtain a grasping pipeline with a closed-loop grasp adjustment process which increases the grasping performance under uncertainty. The second part of the thesis considers how robotic grasping should be accomplished to facilitate a manipulation task that follows the grasp. Certain task-related constraints should be satisfied by the grasp in use, which we refer to as semantic constraints. We first develop an example-based method to encode semantic constraints and to plan stable grasps according to the encoded semantic constraints. We then design a task description framework to abstract an object manipulation task. Within this framework, we also present a method which could automatically construct this manipulation task abstraction from a human demonstration.

Ecological and physiological adaptabilities of earthworm in biofilter under domestication stage is presented, as well as related factors. The results show that, due to the coercion of natural and filter environment, the number and biomass of earthworms present a gradual downward trend after added. But once the conditions become appropriate, hatching of larvae could add the number and biomass of earthworm in the filter. With the increase of temperature, circumjacent earthworms gradually move to the water distribution area, 58 days later earthworms distribution become more uniform. Earthworm density and moisture content exist the significant negative correlation. Temperature, precipitation and rainfall don't affect the ecological indicators of earthworms significantly. When temperature is below 15 degrees C, the earthworms' respiratory rate become more sensitive and decline significantly which is not conducive for earthworms treatment of sewage sludge. In a certain range, it's effective for improving the efficiency of sludge treatment to increase the density of earthworms and distribute earthworms evenly.

Through different working condition experiments, effect of hydraulic loading on antioxidant enzyme (superoxide dismutase, catalase) and digestive enzyme (cellulose, alkaline phosphatase) activities of earthworm in biofilter were studied. The results indicated that antioxidant enzyme and digestive enzyme activities of earthworms responded to hydraulic loading stresses differently. SOD and CAT activities of earthworms increased with the increase of hydraulic loading in the scale of 2.4-6.7 m3 x (m2 x d)(-1), earthworms resisted external environmental stress by coordination function of antioxidation system, so they could survive in different conditions. In addition, digestive enzyme activity, digest ability, sludge reduction and stabilization effect showed excellent correlation (p0.05). When the hydraulic loading was 4.8 m3 x (m2 x d)(-1), earthworm biofilter showed a high level of AKP, FP and digest rate (41.47%), which was notably better than that of other conditions, sludge and organic matter reduction rate came to the maximum, 48.2% and 65.5% respectively. However, higher level of hydraulic loading [or = 6.0 m3 x (m2 x d)(-1)] restrained AKP and FP activity markedly and metabolism level was affected, sludge reduction rate had certain decadence, so it was unfavorable for earthworm biofilter to bring the ecological function into play. At last it is recommended that the hydraulic loading of earthworm biofilter should not exceed 6.0 m3 x (m2 x d)(-1).
