A postmenopausal woman in her 60s was referred due to an elevated haemoglobin value found during her annual check-up. On physical examination, characteristic features of hyperandrogenism were observed which were not earlier mentioned. Laboratory investigations revealed polycythaemia accompanied by a normal erythropoietin and a negative analysis for JAK2-V617F mutation. A disproportionally and markedly elevated testosterone in combination with normal levels of adrenal androgens raised the suspicion of an ovarian source. CT scan showed nodular hyperdense lesions in both ovaries. A bilateral oophorectomy was performed and histological evaluation unfolded a Leydig cell ovarian tumour. Testosterone levels and haematological parameters normalised after surgery. Polycythaemia secondary to hyperandrogenism in postmenopausal women is an extremely rare condition and patients should be carefully analysed for the presence of androgen-secreting neoplasms. Diagnosis of the underlying pathology requires careful history, physical examination and comprehensive investigation. Treatment for this condition is surgery and resolves polycythaemia.

Propionic acid is a short-chain fatty acid that is the main fermentation product of the enteric microbiome. It is found naturally and added to foods as a preservative and evaluated by health authorities as safe for use in foods. However, propionic acid has been reported in the literature to be associated with both health and disease. The purpose of this work is to better understand how propionic acid affects Drosophila melanogaster by examining some of the effects of this compound on the D. melanogaster hemocytes. D. melanogaster was chosen as a suitable in vivo model to detect potential risks of propionic acid (at five concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 10 mM) used as a food preservative. Toxicity, cellular immune response, intracellular oxidative stress (reactive oxygen species, ROS), gut damage, and DNA damage (via Comet assay) were the end-points evaluated. Significant genotoxic effects were detected in selected cell targets in a concentration dependent manner, especially at two highest concentrations (5 and 10 mM) of propionic acid. This study is the first study reporting genotoxicity data in the hemocytes of Drosophila larvae, emphasizing the importance of D. melanogaster as a model organism in investigating the different biological effects caused by the ingested food preservative product. Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurses’ anxiety and depression levels and their compliance with isolation measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Background: The global COVID-19 pandemic has had severe psychological impacts on nurses. Methods: Following receipt of the requisite approvals, data were collected actively from 289 nurses consenting to participate in the study through an online questionnaire using theinternet/ social media. Results: Mean stress, anxiety, and depression scores were higher among carers for COVID-19 patients than in non-Covidcarers. Analysis revealed significant positive correlation between Isolation Precautions Compliance Scale scores and stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout. Conclusion: Burnout increased while compliance with isolation precautions decreased in this study as stress, anxiety, and depression increased. Specific phobia is defined as a notable and continuous fear of a certain object or a situation that particularly impairs daily life and functioning. It is also one of the most common psychological disorders. Exposure-based interventions are commonly used in the treatment of specific phobias. However, some limitations of the standard methods require the need for alternative approaches. In light of this, the use of virtual reality technology in psychotherapy has become increasingly widespread in recent years and is now integrated with exposure therapy. Virtual reality provides real-time interaction using the computer-generated three-dimensional environment via variety oftechnological tools. Applications of virtual reality in exposure therapy have proven to be an important intervention method, especially in the psychopathologies such as specific phobias. In this study, virtual reality exposure therapy for the treatment of specific phobias is systematically reviewed. Inclusion criteria were taken into account in the scanning performed in APA (PsycINFO), EBSCO, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, Ulakbim ve TRDizin databses following the PRISMA method. Following that, ten randomized controlled trials, which included adult participants meeting the diagnostic criteria for specific phobia, examined the efficacy of virtual reality and exposure therapy compared to the control group, and the ones with full text could be accessed, were included in this systematic review. The included studies were evaluated in terms of sample attributes, primary measurement tools, research design, characteristics of the intervention and its efficacy. In general, the findings indicate the efficacy of virtual reality exposure therapy in reducing specific phobia symptoms. Follow-up studies support the long-term maintenance of the results.

Bu çalışma neoliberal ekonominin yükselişi ile ortaya çıkan esneklik söyleminin Kariyer Planlama Dersi’nde bir değer olarak nasıl yeniden üretildiğini ve yüceltildiğini göstermeyi hedeflemektedir. Kariyer Planlama Dersi, ön lisans ve lisans öğrencilerine kariyerlerini nasıl planlayacakları ve şekillendireceklerine ilişkin bilgiler sunmak için verilmektedir. İddiamız odur ki bu dersler sadece kariyer planlamanın yollarını göstermemekte aynı zamanda birtakım neoliberal değerleri aktarmaya ve gençleri neoliberal söylem etrafında toplamaya da hizmet etmektedir. Bu anlamda dersler, esneklik söylemini haklılaştırmaya hizmet eden ideolojik bir aygıt gibi çalışmaktadır. Eleştirel söylem analizi tekniği kullanılan bu araştırmada 14 haftaya yayılan Derslerin içerik çözümlemesi yapılmış ve metinler içerisinde esneklik; değişen koşullara çabuk adapte olma, seçim özgürlüğü, bireyin sorumlulaştırılması, çalışma aidiyeti ve sadakatinin küçümsenmesi kodları üzerinden araştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak dersler boyunca esneklik söyleminin yoğun biçimde temsil edildiği, yeniden üretildiği ve yüceltildiği; bununla birlikte esnek çalışma rejiminin çalışanlar açısından yarattığı prekerleşmeden, işsizlikten, güvencesiz ve düşük ücretli çalışma koşullarından söz edilmediği görülmüştür.

Objective: In particular, ischemic stroke is the primary cause of disability and loss of work force. With intravenous thrombolytic therapy and/or mechanical thrombectomy, stroke is a curable disease. In this study, we evaluated the ischemic stroke awareness of physicians who had first contact with stroke patients. Material and Methods: An online questionnaire of 20 items was applied to collect data. Participation was voluntary, resulting in 66 family physicians and 87 general practitioners. Results: 92.4% of family physicians and 90.8% of general practitioners responded correctly to the item that deals with ischemic stroke symptoms. In the item related to the duration of thrombolytic therapy, the rate of correct response of general practitioners was significantly higher than that of family physicians (p< 0.05). Physicians who worked in the profession for less than 5 years had a significantly higher rate of correct answers than those who worked in the profession for more than 5 years. Conclusion: Today, awareness of family physicians working in primary care and physicians working in emergency services who are in first contact with paralyzed patients should be increased. In addition, patient diagnosis and referral should be focused on. For this purpose, primary care physicians' knowledge on ischemic stroke should be increased. Training should be expanded to raise the awareness of physicians about new developments in stroke prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Plastic waste in different environments has been constantly transforming into microplastic/nanoplastic (MNPLs). As they may coexist with other contaminants, they may behave as vectors that transport various toxic trace elements, including metals. Because the impact of exposure to such matter on health still remains elusive, the abundant presence of MNPLs has lately become a pressing environmental issue. Researchers have been utilizing Drosophila melanogaster as a dynamic in vivo model in genetic research for some time. The fly has also recently gained wider recognition in toxicology and nanogenotoxicity studies. The use of nanoparticles in numerous medical and consumer products raises serious concern, since many in vitro studies have shown their toxic potential. However, there is rather limited in vivo research into nanomaterial genotoxicity using mice or other mammalians owing to high costs and ethical concerns. In this context, Drosophila, thanks to its genetic tractability, short life span, with its entire life cycle lasting about 10 days, and distinct developmental stages, renders this organism an excellent model in testing toxic effects mediated by MNPLs. Background: Pineal region solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) incorporate a histologic spectrum of rarely metastasizing mesenchymal neoplasms that include tumors formerly classified as hemangiopericytoma. Case Report: Here, we describe a rare case of SFT of the pineal region in a 25-year-old man with a literature review. After the first surgery, the tumor reappeared as a local low-grade recurrence, followed by metastasis to the right parietal lobe, and then hyperacute intraparenchymal hematoma at the metastatic site, and later presentation of widespread intracranial intra-axial and extra-axial metastases during the follow-up period. Systemic metastases were not detected. The histopathological evaluation of the resected tissues confirmed the malignant progression of the tumor. Conclusion: The diagnosis of SFT of the pineal region through clinical and imaging features can be considerably challenging. Large size, intratumoral cystic areas, and intense contrast enhancement are the main conventional imaging characteristics of the tumor. Surgery is the first preferential treatment. All recurrent or metastatic cases were grade II or grade III tumors. Adjuvant radiotherapy should be added to surgical treatment in high-grade tumors. Gamma knife radiosurgery is a treatment option for intracranial metastases.

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a naturally occurring calcium phosphate mineral predominantly used for its biocompatibility in a number of areas such as bone grafting, prosthesis coating in dentistry, and targeted drug delivery. Since the nano form of HAp (nHAp) has gained popularity attributed to a re-mineralizing effect in dental repair procedures, concerns have been raised over safety and biocompatibility of these nanoparticles (NP). This study, therefore, aimed to (1) investigate mechanisms of potential genotoxicity and enhanced generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) initiated by bulk and nano forms of HAp and (2) test in vivo whether resveratrol, a type of natural phenol, might mitigate the extent of potential DNA damage. The size of nHAp was determined to be 192.13 ± 9.91 nm after dispersion using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Drosophila melanogaster was employed as a model organism to determine the genotoxic potential and adverse effects of HAp by use of (comet assay), mutagenic and recombinogenic activity (wing spot test), and ROS-mediated damage. Drosophila wing-spot tests demonstrated that exposure to nontoxic bulk and nHAp concentrations (1, 2.5, 5 or 10 mM) produced no significant recombination effects or mutagenicity. However, bulk and nHAp at certain doses (2.5, 5 or 10 mM) induced genotoxicity in hemocytes and enhanced ROS production. Resveratrol was found to ameliorate the genotoxic effects induced by bulk HAp and nHAp in comet assay. Discovering the variation among genotypes is an important criterion for selecting the suitable cultivar for a certain environment. The study aimed to explore the genetic variation among 17 genotypes of barley based on grain yield and some related traits. Plants were grown under field grown conditions in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 growing seasons, and plant height (PH), spike per square meter (SSM), spike length (SL), spikelets per spike (NSS), seed per spike (SPS), biological yield (BY), grain yield (GY), and thousand grain weight (TGW) were measured. Results indicated that PH ranged (51.7 to 81.33 cm) and (58.20 to 79.90 cm), SSM (374 to 582) and (418 to 701), SL (7.10 to 9.63 cm) and (6.87 to 9.13 cm), NSS (9 to 15) and (8 to 17), SPS (21 to 49) and (21 to 51), BY (3466.7 to 5905.3 kg h-1) and (3731.7 to 6080 kg h-1), GY (1442 to 2192 kg h-1) and (811.8 to 1763.7 kg h-1), TGW (34 to 55.67 g) and (33.47 to 52.63 g) for the first and second year of experiment respectively. The advanced lines measurement values were higher in the second year of the experiment. It can be concluded that the advanced lines Anka-08 and Anka-11 are promising in most of the parameters. Some of the old and new cultivars still preserve their yield potential.

© 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC.In this study, we have synthesized a series of 3-(pyridin-2-yl)-2-(pyridin-2-ylimino)thiazolidin-4-ol derivatives regioselectively from 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones using LiAlH4 at room temperature. Due to the presence of the restricted rotation around the N3-Caryl single bond, the formation of M/P isomers was observed. The OH group of the hemiaminal was found to orient itself on the same side with pyridyl nitrogen during this restricted rotation to form an intramolecular hydrogen bond, which was demonstrated by the computational DFT study. This orientation presumably inhibited the occurrence of dehydration and stabilized the molecule.

Its biological functions necessitate a G-quadruplex to be stabilized against escape of the monovalent metal cations. The potassium ion (K+) is particularly important as it experiences a potential energy barrier while it enters and exits the G-quadruplex systems which are normally found in human telomere. In the present work, we analyzed the time it takes for the K+ cations to get in and out of the G-quadruplex. Our time estimate is based on entropic tunneling time—a time formula which gave biologically relevant results for DNA point mutation by proton tunneling. The potential energy barrier experienced by K+ ions is determined from a quantum mechanical simulation study, Schrodinger equation is solved using MATLAB, and the computed eigenfunctions and eigenenergies are used in the entropic tunneling time formula to compute the time delay and charge accumulation rate during the tunneling of K+ in G-quadruplex. The computations have shown that ion tunneling takes picosecond times. In addition, average K+ accumulation rate is found to be in the picoampere range. Our results show that time delay during the K+ ion tunneling is in the ballpark of the conformational transition times in biological systems, and it could be an important parameter for understanding its biological role in human DNA as well as for the possible applications in biotechnology. This paper presents a methodology for generating geometries for interior permanent magnet (IPM) motors in electric vehicles (EVs) through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and image processing (IP) techniques. Due to the implementation of green agreements and policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, EVs have become popularity. As a consequence, the improvement studies on the powertrain and battery system of EVs are focused. Especially for the powertrain, design optimization studies of e-motor have increased in the literature. One of the most widely used e-motor topologies is interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor. However, designing the IPM motor presents a challenge due to the dynamic considerations with geometric constraints. Therefore, e-motor designers encounter challenges related to determining initial geometry and the long time of the optimization process. To address these challenges, a novel approach is proposed that leverages machine learning (ML) techniques in combination with IP to generate initial geometries and design parameters for IPM motors. The proposed approach generates images of the motor geometry and extract dimensional features from the resulting images by using artificial neural networks (ANNs). The proposed method performs an analysis of the input vectors to reduce their size using techniques such as Histogram, 2D Maximum, 2D Mean, 2D Minimum, 2D Standard Deviation, and 2D Variance to enhance feature extraction. Additionally, FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and IFFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) are used to improve the neural network process in generating the image geometry. Further, the generated image geometry is improved by applying digital filtering techniques such as Log, FFT, Log+FFT, Laplacian, Sobel, and Histogram Equalization. Finally, the trained ANNs are tested to validate the results by using Ansys RMXprt and Maxwell. Eventually, the proposed method represents an innovative solution to generating initial geometries for IPM motors in EVs that satisfies desired design requirements. This approach leverages the power of AI and image processing techniques, which could lead to significant improvements in the optimization process for IPM motors, accelerate the designer’s analysis process, and enhance the performance of EVs.

Tungsten oxide nanoparticles (WO3 NPs) have now been employed by various products including electronics, smart screens, gas-biosensors, water purifiers, disinfectants, and biomedical applications. Despite this wide-ranging adoption, little research has investigated their potential endpoint biomarkers in different in vivo models. We therefore propose the use of Drosophila melanogaster as a testing model in assessing genotoxic risks of exposure to WO3 NPs. Our study examined toxicity, phenotypic alterations, locomotor behavior (climbing assay), intracellular oxidative stress (ROS), DNA damage (Comet assay), and somatic recombination (wing spot assay) in Drosophila melanogaster after exposure to WO3 NPs (43.71 ± 1.59 nm) and microparticulated (MPs) of WO3. Drosophila larvae were exposed to the test materials via ingestion at doses ranging between 1 and 10 mM, and two greatest doses of NPs (5 and 10 mM) were found to cause mutagenic/recombinogenic effects, while the MPs caused no effects. Wing-spot assay detected genotoxic activity of NPs mostly through somatic recombination, and Comet assay showed DNA damage after exposure to NPs at certain doses (1, 2.5, 5, and 10 mM). Other observations included ROS generation in hemocytes, phenotypic alterations in the mouths and wings of adult flies, and impaired locomotor behavior. This is the first research to report genotoxic evidence on the impact of WO3 exposure in Drosophila larvae, highlighting the significance of this model organism in exploring the potential biological impact of nanoparticles and MPs of WO3. The aim of this study was to translate, culturally adapt and validate the Satisfaction with Appearance Scale (SWAP) into Turkish to be used in the context of pediatric burn care.This methodological study was conducted in two stages as Language Adaptation and Psychometric study. In the first stage, the Turkish scale was obtained after expert translations. A pilot study was conducted. After back-translation, and the scale was finalized. In the second stage, the scale was administered to 145 children with burns. Body Appreciation Scale for Children (BASC) was applied to the same group for correlation analysis with the scale.A structure explaining 65.98 % of the total variance was obtained. Cronbach's alpha values in the range of 0.995-1000 were quite reliable. A statistically significant correlation was determined between the test and retest applications for all the items (0.99-1.00) in the positive direction (p 0.001). There is a linear negative moderate correlation between BASC scores and the scores of the SWAP-TR scale (r = -0.621 p0.001). The dissatisfaction scores of children with face, hand and leg burns are significantly higher than the other groups.SWAP-TR is a reliable and valid instrument for use in a Turkish speaking children with burns. It is recommended to study the validity of this scale in other age groups with burns in Turkey.

Bu araştırmada; Rize ili Derepazarı ilçesinde geleneksel çay tarımı yapılan araziler ile Hemşin ilçesinde organik çay tarımı yapılan arazilerdeki toprakların bazı fiziko-kimyasal özellikleri ve ağır metal içeriklerinin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında; geleneksel ve organik çay tarımının yapıldığı alanlar ağır metal birikimi (demir, çinko, bakır, mangan, kobalt, kurşun, nikel ve kadmiyum) ve bazı mineral madde (azot, fosfor ve potasyum) içeriği bakımından karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında ayrıca geleneksel ve organik çay tarımının yapıldığı alanlar toprak verimliliği bakımından değerlendirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, 15 organik ve 15 geleneksel tarım uygulama alanlarında belirlenen çay bahçelerinden toprak örnekleri alınarak gerekli analizler yapılmıştır. Bilişim ve teknolojinin çok yoğun uygulandığı günümüz dünyasında, sosyal medya kullanımı her alanda olduğu gibi eğitimin de yadsınmaz bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Bu kapsamda muhasebe eğitiminde de sosyal medyanın etkilerini görmekteyiz. Bu etki bazen kaynak olarak, bazen paylaşımlar olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Sosyal medyaya erişimdeki eğitim niyeti çalışmanın ele aldığı temel unsurdur. Bu çalışma Sosyal medyanın öğrenme üzerindeki etkileri ile birlikte muhasebe dersi alan öğrencilerin eğitsel amaçlı internet kullanım öz yeterlilik algısını ve sosyal medya kullanımını araştırmak için tasarlanmıştır. Anket yönteminin tercih edildiği araştırma, Fırat Üniversitesinde muhasebe eğitimi alan öğrenciler ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde, betimleyici istatistikler, faktör analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, Bağımsız örneklem t-Testi, ANOVA analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin sosyal medyayı en çok eğlence amaçlı tercih ettiği görülmüştür. Eğitsel internet kullanımı öz yeterlilik algısının ise sosyal ağı eğitim amaçlı kullanan öğrencilerde, 4.sınıf öğrencilerinde ve işletme bölümünde okuyan öğrencilerde daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür.

Floods affect over 2.2 billion people worldwide, and their frequency is increasing at an alarming rate compared to other natural disasters. Presidential disaster declarations have issued increasingly almost every year in Iowa for the past 30 years, indicating that the state is on the rise of flood risk. While significant scientific and technological advancement is becoming available for many flood mitigation activities, their on-the-ground consequences are hampered, among other things, by the lack of tools to quickly integrate the growing data into accessible and usable flood mitigation decisions. A multi-disciplinary approach is required, in which the underlying hydrologic processes that cause floods are closely linked with watershed-level socio-economic functions using effective collaboration tools to ensure community participation in the co-production of mitigation plans while paying attention to socio-environmental justice principles. Considering the existing limitations and needs, we conducted a flood risk assessment by utilizing geophysical and socio-economic datasets for a case study in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Flood risk outputs are generated based on three main risk groups: geophysical-based flood risk, socioeconomic risk, and combined flood risk. Our results indicate that high- and very-high-risk flood susceptibility zones are primarily located in central urban areas with lower elevations. According to overall results, a large area of Cedar Rapids consists of a medium risk level according to the flood risk map combined with the fuzzy AHP method. The results show that high and very high-risk areas are 16% of the examined area, medium, low and very low-risk areas correspond to 84%. Besides, nearly 40% of the population lives in high to very high flood risk zones.

Bu araştırmada Asempapa (2019) tarafından geliştirilen Matematiksel Modelleme Tutum Ölçeği’nin Türkçe’ye uyarlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmış olup, araştırmanın örneklemini ise uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 88 öğretmen ve 157 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Matematiksel Modelleme Tutum Ölçeği, Matematiksel Modelleme Özyeterlik Ölçeği ve İnovatif Okuryazarlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. MMTÖ’nin faktör yapısını belirleyebilmek amacıyla açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılmıştır. MMTÖ’nin dört faktörlü ve 23 maddelik Türkçe uyarlamasının matematik dersine giren öğretmenlerin matematiksel modellemeye yönelik tutumlarını ölçmek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışma daha büyük bir veri seti ve farklı değişkenler kullanılarak yapılabilir.

Amaç: Apandisit, çocuk cerrahları ve genel cerrahların en sık karşılaştığı akut karın nedenidir. Apandisitte erken tanı ve tedavi oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Apandisitle ilgili sayısız makale olmasına rağmen; çocuk ve erişkin dönemi apandisitleri karşılaştıran çalışmalar oldukça nadirdir. Bu çalışmada amaç çocuk ve erişkin hasta gruplarında apandisitin laboratuvar ve klinik özelliklerini karşılaştırmaktır. Yöntemler: Çalışma patoloji sonucu apandisit tanısı konulan hastalardan oluşmaktadır. Hastalar akut apandisit ve perfore apandisit olarak iki gruba ayrıldı. Ayrıca her iki grupta kendi içinde 18 yaş altı ve üstü olarak tekrar iki gruba ayrıldı. Gruplardaki hastaların demografik özellikleri, laboratuvar değerleri, maliyet analizi, cerrahi yöntem, patoloji raporları, apendiks çapları, şikayet ve yatış süreleri geriye dönük olarak incelendi. Bulgular: Çalışmaya dahil edilen 150 hastanın 42’si çocuk hasta idi. Akut apandisit 131 hastada, perfore apandisit ise 19 hastada saptandı. Çocuklarda ortalama yaş 9,38±2,25 yıl, erişkinlerde ise 36,33±13,54 yıl idi. Çalışmada akut apandisit gruplarında cinsiyet, cerrahi teknik, beyaz küre (WBC), hastanede yatış süresi ve maliyet analizi açısından anlamlı bir fark bulunurken; şikayet süresi, apendiks çapı, C reaktif protein (CRP) ve nötrofil yüzdesi açısından ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı. Yine perfore apandisit gruplarında tüm parametreler arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı. Sonuç: Çocuk ve erişkin dönemi akut apandisit hastaları arasında önemli farklılıklar olmasına rağmen; perfore apandisitlerde farklılıklar saptanmadı. Bu durumun hastaların değerlendirilmesi esnasında klinisyenler tarafından dikkate alınması gerektiği kanaatindeyiz.

This case study compared preservice primary school teachers' and primary school teachers' experiences with multi-grade teaching in the 2018–2019 academic year. The sample consisted of 17 fourth-year students in the department of primary school teaching education of a public university and 14 multi-grade teachers from 12 schools in Turkey. The preservice teachers and multi-grade primary school teachers developed similar lesson plans and executed similar learning processes. Although the multi-grade teachers claimed that they used different methods (brainstorming, drama, observation, etc.), the preservice teachers observed them mostly use Q&A and direct instruction techniques. The preservice teachers did not use multidisciplinary teaching activities but instead showed students videos and slides and designed textbook-based activities. They did not use different methods to plan a multi-grade lecture. Multi-grade teaching training offered by the faculties of education should be interdisciplinary and encourage collaboration among teachers from other branches (e.g., teacher agency).

Objective: Inflamatory processes play an important role in the etiology of psychiatric disorders. The aim of this study was to evaluate inflammatory complete blood count (CBC) parameters in substance use disorder (SUD). Methods: The study included 90 patients with SUD and 90 healthy controls (HC). The Student t-test was used to compare CBC parameters between the groups. The Kruskal–Wallis test was used to compare the data on the basis of substance types. Results: Leukocyte, lymphocyte, and monocyte levels were higher in SUD group than HC. Leukocyte and neutrophil levels of patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) were higher than HC. Platelet levels and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and systemic immune inflammation index values were higher in patients with OUD than in patients with non-opioid substance use disorder (nOUD). Moreover, lymphocyte and monocyte levels were higher in patients with nOUD than in HC. Monocyte levels were increased in patients with cannabinoid use disorder compared to HC. Conclusion: The results suggested that inflammatory CBC parameters play an important role in the etiology of SUD according to type of substance. However, there is not enough data for supporting the clinical use of these parameters.

Amaç: Bu araştırma, COVID-19 Pandemisinin sağlık alanındaki üniversite öğrencileri üzerindeki etkisini belirleyerek, öğrencilerin COVID-19 pademisi karşısında yaşadıkları anksiyete ile sigara ve sosyal medya kullanım alışkanlıklar arasındaki değişimi incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Kesitsel araştırma yöntemi ile yapılan bu çalışma, 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Ankara Medipol Üniversitesi Tıp, Diş ve Sağlık Bilimleri fakültesinde öğrenim gören 300 kadın 251erkek öğrenci üzerinde yapıldı. Araştırmada Beck anksiyete ölçeği, Koronavirüs Anksiyete Ölçeği, Fagerström Nikotin Bağımlılık Testi (FNBT) ile Sosyal Medya Bağımlılık Ölçeği kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmada öğrencilerin %18,1’i pandemi öncesinde sigara kullanırken pandemi sonrasında (şu an) %28,1’e çıktığı, %72,4’nün sigaranın COVID-19 riskini arttırdığını düşündükleri ve %76’ sının günde 4-6 saat sosyal medya kullandıkları belirlenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın genel amacı öğretmen ve okul yöneticilerinin görüşlerine göre denetim uygulamalarının mesleki ve etik ilkelere uygunluğunun incelenmesidir. Araştırma tarama modellerinden durum çalışması (örnek olay tarama modeli) ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada çalışma grubu, Ankara-Çubuk ilçesinde bulunan resmi okullarda görevli ve araştırmaya gönüllü katılan 18 yönetici ve 48 öğretmen olmak üzere 66 kişiden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Görüşme sorularına verilen cevaplardan tema ve kodlar oluşturulmuş, frekans dağılımları belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, yönetici ve öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun görüşüne göre; denetim görevlilerinin “tarafsızlık ve nesnellik, eşitlik, dürüstlük, gizlilik, yetkinlik ve meslekî özen” ilkelerine uygun hareket ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Fakat “çıkar çatışmasından kaçınma, nezaket ve saygı” ilkelerine uygun davranışlar sergilemediği bulunmuştur. Denetim görevlilerinin özellikle onur kırıcı, küçük düşürücü, baskıcı, hakaret ve tehdit edici tavırlarda bulunmamaları, etkili rehberlik hizmetlerine katkı sunacaktır. Ayrıca denetim görevlilerine “etkili iletişim” konusunda eğitimler verilebilir. Denetim görevlilerinin etik dışı davranışlarda bulunmalarını engellemek amacıyla “Denetim Görevlilerinin Uyacakları Meslekî Etik Davranış İlkeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik” kapsamında daha hassas davranmaları ve ilgi yönetmelik maddelerini göz önünde bulundurarak denetim sürecini gerçekleştirmeleri önerilmektedir.

In many studies of heat transfer problems, many researchers have studied heat transfer problems by solving partial differential equations without using approximations or finding solutions with experimental data. This paper analyzes the heat transfer problem using a heat source in a closed environment and how it transfers in the neighboring sections. Referring to mathematical concepts, this work makes possible the simplification of the complexity that associates with such thermodynamic problems. In this framework, the research group discusses such a problem as a discrete one, easily computable, rather than treating it as a continuous one. The reduction of this problem to the solution of a simple system of linear equations and differential equations gives us the possibility to obtain the desired results regarding heat distribution. In many cases, differential equations are hard and difficult to solve. So, we deal with numerical methods to approximate the differential equations to algebraic equations and solve them. Comparing the different algorithms used and showing which of them works best in our testing conditions gives us the possibility of testing and comparing the results and the proper performance. The program will simulate the heat transfer of a single heat source in a closed environment. The results of the simulations will be presented in graphs and demonstrated in visual settings. In the end, our research will provide conclusions on the performance of the numerical methods. The purpose of this article is to study and analyze heat generation and heat transport in three-dimensional space with respect to neighboring sides of a closed environment.
