We demonstrated that the methanol extract of Mitrephora thoreliiPierre's branches and leavesin Lam Dong, Vietnam is anti-Staphylococcus aureusstrain (Sta1) of Phenikaa University, Hanoi, Viet Nam and Staphylococcus aureusATCC 29213strain(Sta2) from Thermo Fisher Scientific, USA. Invitro anti-Sta1 and Sta2 activity of the methanol extract of Mitrephora thoreliiPierre's branches and leaves were not significantly different. With a rise in extract content, the inhibitory zone's created diameter grew as well. The extract content of 100 mg/mL demonstrated the greatest antibacterial activity with a 25 mm inhibition zone diameter against Sta1 and 24mm inhibition zone diameter against Sta2. Bacteria were not resistant to the extract at concentrations of 20; 80 and 100 mg/mL after 48, 72, and 96 hours. The lowest inhibitory concentration (MIC) was between 312.5 and 625 μg/mL. The minimum bactericidal concentration was found to be 1.25mg/mL.

In the context of covid-19 pandemic, effective recruitment of prospective employees from campuses can assist businesses in recovering and even winning on the market. However, this process requires an updated and concrete understanding of the young talents. In this paper, the authors explore which factors affect the intention to apply for a job of economics students in Ho Chi Minh City in consideration of the pandemic’s impacts. A significant part of the proposed model was based on clues retrieved from prior studies on organizational attractiveness. Based on the analysis of data collected from 206 economics-majored undergraduates from tertiary institutions based in Ho Chi Minh City, the authors find that the diversity inherent in the job and work practices at a company strongly influences the applying intent. Economic dimension, together with opportunities to learn and advance, is the next important predictors of intention to apply. The students’ intentions of applying are also affected by their perceptions of the social values and company’s reputation.

This paper examines the impact of each sensory element in Sensory Marketing on the intention to reuse Vietnam Airlines’ services of people living in Hanoi city. In which, the authors test the direct impact of Brand Image along with the control variable of Demographic characteristics on the intention to reuse services. In addition, the reuse intention is also indirectly influenced by each sensory element (visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile) in Sensory Marketing with brand image as a mediating variable. This research presented the results of qualitative and quantitative empirical research in Hanoi city from December 9, 2021 to February 9, 2022 to test the theoretical model as well as the research hypotheses proposed by the authors. The study results demonstrated that sensory factors such as visual (0.682), tactile (0.214), olfactory (0.185), auditory (0.128), and gustatory (0.117) have an indirect positive impact on the intention to reuse aviation services of Vietnam Airlines through brand image. Besides, the intention to reuse the services was also positively and directly affected by the brand image (0.247).

Background: To evaluate the complete blood count of Laotian students in Hue city. Materials and method: A cross-sectional study on 400 Lao students who were examinated the complete blood count at Department of Hematology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy from September 2019 to May 2020. Results: 400 Lao students (male/female = 1/1.2), the students who came from Salavan province accounted for the highest percentage (22.25%). The mean of age was 24.78 ± 6.44 (17 - 44). The mean of red blood cells (RBC) was 5.13 ± 0.73 T/L and of hemoglobin in the study group was 129.27 ± 18.58 g/L. The percentage of students with anemia was 13.5% and there were 3 students with severe anemia. The mean of mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) were respectively 81.27 ± 9.32 fL (49.2 - 103.9) and 25.50 ± 3.56 pg (11.8 - 33.2). The mean of white blood cells (WBC) and platelets (PLT) were respectively 7.42 ± 2.29 G/L and 272.33 ± 83.62 G/L. There was a correlation between anemia and age (p < 0.05), mainly in 26 - 40. There was significant difference about RBC and Hb between anemic group and non-anemic group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: It is essential to check the complete blood count of Laotian students to evaluate anemia and screen hemoglobinopathies. In this study, iron benzenedicarboxylate framework/graphene nanoplatelets (MIL-100(Fe)/GNPs) composites have been synthesized. As-prepared composite materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, FTIR techniques, UV-VIS diffuse reflectance.

The major intendment of this study was to discover the interactive relationship between productivity and social performance, in which the productivity measured as a ratio of number of active borrowers to number of staff, the social performance is measured through the breadth of outreach and the depth of outreach. This research used the panel data regression method with research data from thirty-six selected CFIs in Vietnam from 2013 to 2018. The study results discovered that the debt-to-equity ratio, equity growth rate, breadth of outreach and return on equity had positive relationships with productivity and that the depth of outreach, loan-to-deposit ratio, non-performing loans ratio and return on assets had negative relationships with productivity. The age of CFIs, debt-to-equity ratio, breadth of outreach had positive relationships with the depth of outreach; the productivity and financial sustainability had negative impacts on the depth of outreach. The depth of outreach, productivity and non-performing loans ratio had positive relationships with the breadth of outreach; the deposit growth ratio had a negative impact on the breadth of outreach. The research had determined the bidirectional interactions and relationship between productivity and social performance. Based on the findings the study offers policy implication and further emphasizes optimal policies to CFIs management that helps the policy makers, CFIs managers and executives in improving the overall productivity and increasing the social performance of CFIs in Vietnam.

Customer satisfaction towards microfinance services is a measure of how microfinance services supplied by a microfinance institution meet or surpass customer expectation. The use of microfinance services plays a very important role in the socioeconomic development and contributes significantly to the development of microfinance sector in one nation. This study aims at measuring the customer satisfaction towards microfinance services they are using. This study uses the five broad dimension theory of service quality, data will be collected from the way of survey from microfinance institutions (MFIs) customers and later on will be analyzed by statistical technique and tools like descriptive statistics, and correlation method. The descriptive statistics are conducted to show out some specific areas in which MFIs need to pay more attention. The correlation analysis is to find out the relationship between each independent variable and the dependent variable. Finally, the conclusion and recommendation will summarize the key findings of the research and give suggestions to MFIs in Vietnam.

Financial self-sustainability (FSS) is one of the sustainable development indicators of microfinance service providers. This index is an important goal that many financial institutions aim in their operations, including people’s credit funds (PCFs). This study examined the factors that affected financial self-sustainability of PCFs and used data from 2013 to 2018 of 24 PCFs. The results show that capital adequacy ratio and income have positive impacts on FSS; at the same time, credit growth, nonperforming loan ratio, and economic growth have negative effects on FSS, while the inflation rate and deposit growth do not have impacts on FSS. This result is consistent with the operation characteristics and development history of PCFs in the Mekong delta region of Vietnam from 2013 to 2018. Through the findings, the study recommends the important contents to increase financial sustainability of PCFs in Vietnam’s Mekong delta region. On the other hand, this study helps the PCFs’ managers to identify this impact for better management of PCFs.

Visceral leishmaniasis is an infectious disease caused by Leishmania sp.- a protozoa were transmitted by the vector Phlebotomus. The severe clinical feature can cause death that is visceral leishmaniasis (Kala - azar disease). The clinical symptoms were fever, weight loss, swelling, hepatosplenomegaly, paleness, and edema. The Kala - Azar was often combining with HIV positive population. In this study, we reported a case of a ten- year old child diagnosed with visceral leishmaniasis by finding the amastigote on blood smear of peripheral blood. Productivity and profitability are the most complex areas of financial decision making due to their interrelationship with other financial decision variables. At the same time, productivity and profitability are factors affecting the operations and goals of formal microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Vietnam. This study’s purpose was to discover the interaction and causal relationship between productivity and profitability and to examine factors that affect the productivity and profitability of formal MFIs. After regression analysis on a set of panel data from 2010 to 2018 of all formal MFIs in Vietnam, it appeared that profitability and debt-to-equity ratio have positive relationships with productivity and that the number of branches and deposits have negative relationships with productivity. Productivity has a positive relationship with profitability and both the debt-to-equity ratio and equity have negative impacts on profitability. The study found bidirectional interactions and a causal relationship between productivity and profitability. Based on the findings the study proposes policy measures that could be implemented by the managers of formal MFIs to increase productivity and ensure a more efficient distribution of economic resources. This study also helps managers of formal MFIs understand the key determinants for better management of formal MFIs.

Background: One of the main ways to strengthen the health-system capacity by the intersectoral approaches is to promote social health by linking microfinance with healthcare support activities. The aim of the study was to discover the interaction relationship between the diversification of health care support activities and the health care services outreach of formal microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Vietnam. This study proposes policy measures that could be implemented by the policy makers, managers of MFIs to diversify the health care support activities and to promote the health care services outreach.Methods: This study used the panel data regression method from 2010 to 2019 of all formal MFIs in Vietnam, the study found out the interaction relationship between the diversification of health care support activities and the health care services outreach of formal MFIs in Vietnam.Results: The results showed that number of branches and the health care services outreach had positive relationships with the diversification of health care support activities; productivity had a negative impact on the diversification of health care support activities. The diversification of health care support activities, and productivity had positive relationships with the health care services outreach; number of branches had a negative impact on the health care services outreach. At the same time, this study found bidirectional interactions and the causal relationship between the diversification of health care support activities and the health care services outreach of formal MFIs in Vietnam.Conclusions: This study found bidirectional interactions and the causal relationship between the diversification of health care support activities and the health care services outreach. The study results encourage and provide opportunities to diversify the health care support activities and to promote the health care services outreach of formal MFIs in Vietnam.

We report the implementation of second-generation Fourier transform electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (2G FT-EIS) with commercial potentiostat. Although 2G FT-EIS based on chronoamperometry has several advantages of short measurement time and ability of time-resolved EIS, a special home-built electrochemical system is essential, which has been an obstacle to the wide application of 2G FT-EIS. Current commercial potentiostat and software, however, has sufficient power thanks to recent state-of-the art electronics and software industry. 2G FT-EIS requires two signals of time versus voltage and time versus current from chronoamperometry with a high sampling rate. In this work, auxiliary input of a commercial potentiostat was used to record voltage signal concomitant with typical chronoamperometry that consisted of time versus current. This simple approach enables the 2G EIS without expensive frequency response analyzer (FRA) and the complex home-built instrument. EISs with various charge transfer kinetics were investigated by the formation of a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on Au with different chain lengths. More to the point, in situ time-resolved EISs during the SAM were obtained, demonstrating the ability of a commercial potentiostat for time-resolved EIS.

A highly efficient copper(II) catalyst system for alkylation of indoles with alcohols via hydrogen borrowing method has been developed to afford C3-alkylated indoles in good to excellent yields. Cu(OAc)2 in the combination with dppm ligand has been found to be the most suitable catalyst system for this alkylation reaction.

Co-operative credit institutions (CCIs) play an important role for achieving the national mission of financial inclusion. Therefore, we should be taking a wider view of productivity and credit and assessing productivity and credit growth. These are factors affecting the CCIs' operations and goals. This study used the panel data regression method with research data from thirty-two selected CCIs in Vietnam from 2013 to 2018. This study’s purpose to discover the reciprocity relationship productivity and credit growth in Vietnam's CCIs. By assessing the factors affecting the productivity and credit growth, the research results have determined the bidirectional interactions and causal relationships between productivity and credit growth. Based on the findings the study offers policy implication and new insights for developing a more sustainable CCIs and further emphasizes optimal policies to CCIs management that helps the policy-makers, CCIs managers and executives in improving the overall productivity, and the credit growth of CCIs going forward.

Mining frequent itemsets plays an important role in mining association rules. One of methods for mining frequent itemsets is mining frequent weighted itemsets (FWIs). However, the number of FWIs is often very large when the database is large. Besides, FWIs will generate a lot of rules and some of them are redundant. In this paper, a method for mining frequent weighted closed itemsets (FWCIs) in weighted items transaction databases is proposed. Some theorems are derived first, and based on them, an algorithm for mining FWCIs is proposed. Experimental results show that the number of FWCIs is always smaller than that of FWIs and the mining time is also better.

In April, 2014, a 29-year-old Vietnamese woman, 31 weeks into her fourth pregnancy, presented to a clinic in Ho Chi Minh City with a 2 day history of fever, dry cough, chest pain, and shortness of breath. She had a history of partial thyroidectomy for hyperthyroidism in 2012, and had had three miscarriages. She took 150 μg thyroxine daily and was a non-smoker. She was initially treated for presumed pneumonia with imipenem. However, her respiratory function deteriorated overnight and she was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) at our hospital. On admission she was febrile (38°C), tachycardic (pulse 115 beats per min), and tachypnoeic (respiratory rate 28 breaths per min), with an SpO2 of 94% on 5 L oxygen. Heart sounds were normal but she had bibasal crackles on chest auscultation. Apart from a gravid uterus, abdominal examination was normal. Chest radiograph showed bilateral infi ltrates suggesting pulmonary oedema (appendix). Haemoglobin was 92 g/L, haematocrit 29·2%, total white cell count 8·5 × 109/L, (neutrophil count 7·53 × 109/L and lymphocyte count 0·4 × 10/L), with a platelet count of 134 × 109/L; INR was 1. Urea, electrolytes, liver transaminases, and procalcitonin were normal. Arterial blood gas analysis showed pH 7·49, PaO2 69 mm Hg, PaCO2 30·9 mm Hg, HCO3 23·7 mmol/L, and lactate 1·2 mmol/L. We started oseltamivir and continued imipenem and maintenance fl uids. Her respiratory function deteriorated further (respiratory rate 35 breaths per min, SpO2 85% on 15 L oxygen) so we started non-invasive ventilation with bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) and added vancomycin and azithromycin. In this paper we study the behavior of a solution of the complementarity problem when the problem is perturbed. The basic result is that if the degree of a certain function is nonzero then the problem is stable. We show that several well-known conditions for the existence of a solution to the problem also imply stability of the problem. We also show that in the nondegenerate case there are simple conditions that ensure stability.

A decomposition procedure is proposed in this paper for solving a class of large-scale optimum design problems for perfectly-plastic structures under several alternative loading conditions. The conventional finite element method is used to cast the problem into a finite dimensional constrained nonlinear programming problem. Structures of practically meaningful size and complexity tend to give rise to a large number of variables and constraints in the corresponding mathematical model. The difficulty is that the state-of-the-art mathematical programming theory does not provide reliable and efficient ways of solving large-scale constrained nonlinear programming problems. The natural idea to deal with the large-scale structural problem is somehow to decompose the problem into a collection of small-size problems each of which represents an analysis of the behaviour of each finite element under a single loading condition. This paper proposes one such way of decomposition based on duality theory and a recently developed iterative algorithm called the proximal point algorithm.

In this paper we study the behavior of a solution of the linear complementarity problem when data are perturbed. We give characterizations of strong stability of the linear complementarity problem at a solution. In the case of stability we give sufficient and necessary conditions.
