Implementing monitoring over construction process of old bridge’s reinforcement serves as an important measure to ensure construction quality and safety and realize the goal of reinforcement. This paper, with a case study of the maintenance and reinforcement project of Zhicheng Yangtze River Bridge (steel truss highway-railway combined bridge), adopted MIDAS to establish finite element analysis model, and with stress and deformation as monitoring parameters, completed the construction monitoring work, numerical simulation analysis and site test for the reinforcement project.

Cast steel node is a new type of structure joint developed with the application of large-span steel space structure. The stress distribution is discussed of cast steel nodes under three-dimension load by the use of FEM, in the space grid structure of maintenance hall. By the measurement, the stress on the surface of the cast steel node under design load is obtained. Combined with the test on-the-spot and computation, the result proves FEM result.

An improved maximum power point tracking method for wind-solar hybrid generation system was proposed in this paper. The maximum power point was tracked by Perturbation and Observation Algorithms and quadratic interpolation method. Taking the advantage of the above methods, the new method could avoid shock phenomenon of Perturbation and Observation Algorithms near the maximum power point, reduce miscarriage of justice. The whole system was simulated on MATLAB. The simulation results shown that, the improved control method could search the maximum power point of wind-solar hybrid generation system quickly, and work stably.

Due to resource scarcity and worsening pollution on the environment, more and more people are attracted by green design. Some designs not only focus on energy saving, but also attach great importance to conveying green concept. Based on the case study of Japanese design and focusing on three aspects, material selection, structural design and style orientation, this article attempts to analyze the design works that reflect prominently the green concept. Therefore, people can deeply sense and appreciate the concept of environmental protection and eventually are beneficial educated and directed.

In engineering structures, it is a new approach to evaluate the structural health situation by use of optic fiber sensor. In this paper, a standard specimen beam, 200mm×300mm×3000mm, is chosen and the comparative experiment is executed for strain testing by FBG sensors and vibrating wire sensors which were widely used in bridge health monitoring. Experimental results show that the FBG sensors have a higher measurement precision, higher linearity and better noise resistance. Then we use traditional electrical resistance strain gage to calibrate the FBG sensors and obtain the strain degree of sensitivity, and apply them into bridge strengthening in the Wuhuang Highway in order to collect the strains of reinforcement bar in the deck pavement and the beams before and after the bridge strengthening. The above work is also to evaluate the effects of strengthening projects and carry out long-term structural health monitoring. The monitoring results show that the safety condition can be monitored conveniently with the FBG sensors testing system whose durability and stability can satisfy the need of bridge health monitoring. Finally, we also discuss the key problems and practical approaches in structural health monitoring process by use of embedded FBG sensors.

Take a High-rise Residential Building in Wuhan as research object, in assigns the construction plan under the premise, the optical mathematics model of the shear wall is established. Based on research of structure dynamic characteristics, displacement, mechanic character, structure measure, uses the criterion method and the exhaustion method, design principle of board high-rise residential building is conducted from the optical of shear wall arrangement，furthermore, site condition and seismic precaution intensity influence to the optical structure is analyzed.

Through filling the liquid crystal into the air holes of a dual-core holey fiber with a simple structure, the transmission mechanism of the fiber is changed from total internal reflection to photonic bandgap (PBG), and a polarization splitter based on the liquid crystal-filled dual-core PBG holey fiber is investigated. The results demonstrate that, by setting appropriate geometrical parameters, the polarization splitter possesses a short length of 890.5 μm, and its wide bandwidth of ∼150 nm almost covers all the S, C, and L communication bands. Besides, it has an excellent electro-interference-resistance property and certain sensitivity to temperature.
