Aim: Developments in diagnostic methods and advances in the treatment of pediatric rheumatic diseases (PRDs) have improved the quality of life in this patient group. However, vaccine-preventable infectious diseases are still outstanding causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients more than in healthy population. Pediatric rheumatologists play a critical role in increasing vaccination rates since they have ample opportunity to administer vaccinations. The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pediatric rheumatologists about vaccination in rheumatic diseases. Material and Method: Between March 2022-May 2022, an online questionnaire of 20 items was used to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pediatric rheumatologists in Turkey with respect to vaccination. Results: A total of 81 participants answered all survey questions completely. The ages of the study group ranged from 30 to 48 years, at a mean of 37.5±3.8 years. Most of the pediatric rheumatologists (n:76, 93.8%) were working in a tertiary pediatric hospital; 27.2% did not consider themselves primarily responsible for the vaccination of children with PRDs, and 30.9% did not refer their patients to the department that administers the vaccine either before or during immunosuppressive therapy. In addition, it was found that only 14.8% regularly questioned the vaccination history of patients at each outpatient visit. One-third of study group recommended the implementation of non-scheduled vaccines and the most recommended non-scheduled vaccine was seasonal influenza (n:48, 59.3%). The comparative analysis between pediatric rheumatology residents and staff physicians showed no statistically significant difference in the level of knowledge except in the question concerning live vaccines. Conclusion: This study revealed that there are still serious problems in clinical practice about the vaccination of PRDs patients. For this purpose, pediatric rhematologists’ awareness and knowledge about vaccination should be increased with a special education program.

In this paper, a new approximate method based on analytical formulas is proposed to estimate the ultimate strength of stiffened panels by investigating collapse mechanisms of the stiffened panels. In this respect, firstly, a series of detailed elastoplastic large deflection Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is performed to investigate the collapse behavior and the ultimate strength of the stiffened panels. In the analysis, the initial deflections are considered in the form of thin-horse mode plus overall buckling mode for the plates, and flexural buckling mode plus tripping mode for the stiffeners. On the basis of the observed FEA results, an efficient method is proposed to estimate the ultimate strength of stiffened panels based on Elastic Large Deflection Analysis (ELDA) with the initial yielding concept. In the ELDA, the deflection modes are defined as the sum of overall buckling mode plus local plate buckling mode. The welding residual stresses are not taken into account in this study. The ultimate strength is predicted by examining yielding at several critical points. The calculated results by the proposed method and the nonlinear FEA are compared, and a very good agreement is obtained for all collapse scenarios investigated.

The time reversal (TR) technique has been used to estimate the locations and amplitudes of point scatterers from multistatic data matrix K(omega) collected by a set of transducers. The TR imaging theory is based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the multistatic data. For ultrawidehand signals, high resolution images can be constructed by using the conventional TR algorithms, but a frequency -dependent and uncontrollable phase sos v (omega) that comes from SVD adversely affects the locations of the scatterers on the TR image. In this letter, estimation of the locations and amplitudes of point scatterers by applying the generalized pencil of function method to the K(omega) is introduced. As our method does not directly rely on SVD, the results are devoid of corruptions induced by cpv D (w), and the locations of the point scatters are predicted with high accuracy in both range and cross-range directions above 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio value. The efficacy of the introduced method is verified by both numerical and measured examples.

This study has been performed to determine the trait anxiety and future occupational anxiety levels of the 5th and 6th year medical students at Pamukkale University and their contributing factors. 101 students participated in this cross-sectional study. Data were collected in October 2012 by questionnaire, consisting of socio-demographic data, 17 questions about occupational anxiety and 20 questions of the Trait Anxiety Inventory II. Trait anxiety levels of students (42.5 ± 9.1) and occupational anxiety levels (37.9 ± 10.1) were found to be moderate. Female students (40.6 ± 5.1) were found to be more anxious about their profession than male students (35.4 ± 10.5) (p = 0.010) were. Students were most concerned about succeeding in the medical specialization exam in medicine, not being a specialist doctor, being uncertain about the place of work and coping with emergency unit patients. Both trait anxiety and occupational anxiety were prevalent among the 5th and 6th graders at the Faculty of Medicine, Pamukkale University. It is necessary to establish and ensure the use of psychological counseling and support units in the campus., Özet Bu çalışma Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi 5. ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin sürekli kaygı ve mesleki kaygı düzeyleri ve bunları etkileyen etkenlerin saptanması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Kesitsel tipteki bu çalışmaya 101 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veriler, sosyo-demografik sorular, 17 soruluk mesleki kaygı anketi ve 20 soruluk Sürekli Kaygı Ölçeği 2 sorularından oluşan bir anket formu kullanılarak Ekim 2012 tarihinde toplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin sürekli kaygı düzeyinin (42.5 ± 9.1) ve mesleki kaygı düzeyinin (37.9 ± 10.1) orta düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Kız öğrencilerin (40.6 ± 5.1) erkek öğrencilere (35.4 ± 10.5) göre meslekleri ile ilgili daha fazla kaygı duydukları saptanmıştır (p=0.010). Öğrencilerin en çok, tıpta uzmanlık sınavını kazanamama, uzman doktor olamama, çalışma yeri ile ilgili belirsizlik ve acil hastayla baş etme konularında kaygıları olduğu bulunmuştur. Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi 5. ve 6. sınıf öğrencileri arasında hem sürekli kaygı ve hem de mesleki kaygı yaygındır. Bu konuda, kampüste psikolojik danışmanlık ve destek birimlerinin oluşturulması ve kullanımının sağlanması gerekmektedir.

In this article, an algorithm is introduced for estimating the radar cross-section of moving targets with near-field measurements. This algorithm uses the matrix pencil method that facilitates an efficient compensation of range-Doppler coupling. AMAÇ: Bu çalışma Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinin genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalar hakkındaki bilgi, tutum ve davranışlarını incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.YÖNTEMLER: Çalışmamız kesitsel tipte bir araştırma olup, 2013 yılı Haziran ayında Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencileri arasında yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya 377 öğrenci katılmıştır. Ankette araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan 43 soru yer almaktadır. Bu soruların 9’u sosyodemografik verilerle, 34’ü genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalarla ilgilidir. Veriler değerlendirilirken tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve kategorize değişkenler arasındaki anlamlı farkları belirlemek için Pearson ki-kare veya Fisher testi kullanılmıştır.BULGULAR: Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin %81.4’ü GDO’lu gıdalar hakkında yeterli düzeyde bilgiye sahip olmadığını düşünmektedir. Materials and methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted among medical faculty students at Pamukkale University in June 2013. 377 students participated in the study. Bu çalışma kapsamında genel burkulma ve göçmeye maruz kalan küçük boyutlu stifnerlerle desteklenmiş paneller incelenmiştir. Ayrıca panellerin nihai mukavemet değerleri yaklaşık bir yöntem ile tayin edilmiştir. Nihai mukavemetin tayini amacıyla farklı genel burkulma formülleri incelenmiş ve yeni bir yaklaşım geliştirilmiştir. Son olarak sonuçlar arasındaki farkların muhtemel sebepleri irdelenmiştir., Elastic-plastic large deflection FEM calculations are performed to examine the collapse behaviour of stiffened panels. In the present study, panels with small size stiffeners are focused on. Furthermore, ultimate strength of stiffened panels is estimated by a simplified method, so called FY Method, considering different buckling strength formulas for stiffened panels. Candidate buckling strength formulas are assessed, then a new overall buckling strength formula is proposed by the authors. Finally, possible reasons of difference between estimated results are discussed.

Brusellozis seyri esnasında karaciğer ve dalak tutulumu sık görülmektedir ancak sadece bir vakada hepatosplenik nodül ve iki pediatrik vakada dalak apsesi olduğu bildirilmiştir. Dalak apseleri antibiyotik tedavisine yanıt vermekle birlikte hepatosplenik nodüllerin tedavisi için drenaj gereklidir. Burada ondört yaşında hepatik ve splenik nodül ile başvuran ve antibiyotik tedavisi ile tamamen düzelen bir hasta sunulmuştur. Bilgilerimize göre vakamız hepatosplenik nodül ile başvuran ve antibiyotik tedavisi ile tamamen düzelen ilk pediatrik vakadır., In the course of brucellosis although liver and spleen involvement is a common finding; there was only one pediatric case presenting with hepatosplenic and two pediatric cases with splenic abscess formation. Splenic abscess were treated with anti-biotherapy but for hepatosplenic abscess surgical drainage was needed. We reported a fourteen years old girl presented with both hepatic and splenic nodule formation, which was cured with anti-biotherapy. To our knowledge it was the first pediatric case presented with hepatosplenic nodule, cured with combination anti-biotherapy.

AMAÇ: Çalışmamızda, bazı radyolojik görüntüleme yöntemlerinde hastaların maruz kaldığı doz hakkında araştırma görevlileri, tıp öğrencileri, hemşireler ve hastane personelinin bilgi düzeyini araştırmak amaçlandı.YÖNTEMLER: Çalışma tanımlayıcı nitelikte kesitsel bir araştırma olup veriler anket yoluyla Nisan 2013 ile Haziran 2013 tarihleri arasında bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışan asistan hekim, tıp fakültesi öğrencileri, hemşire ve görevli personelden gönüllü olanların, anket sorularını gözlem altında cevaplandırılması şeklinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmamız için üniversite etik kurulu onayı alınmıştır.BULGULAR: Çalışma süresince toplam 274 hastane çalışanı ile görüşüldü. Katılmayı kabul eden 250 kişi (%91,2) çalışma grubumuzu oluşturdu. Tüm katılımcılar için radyolojik tetkikler içinde manyetik rezonansın (MR) ve ultrason görüntülemenin (USG) radyasyon içerdiğini düşünenlerin oranı sırasıyla %38 (n=95) ve %19,6 (n=49) olarak belirlendi. Katılımcıların çoğunluğu, abdominal BT, baryumlu mide grafisi ve abdominal grafinin olduğundan daha az, mamografinin ise olduğundan daha çok radyasyon içerdiğini belirtti. Gebelerin radyasyondan korunmasıyla ilgili sorularda katılımcıların doğru yanıt oranları %90’ın üzerinde bulundu.SONUÇ: İyonizan radyasyonla ilgili bilgi seviyesinin azlığı, radyolojik tetkiklerin güvenli kullanımı açısından, mezuniyet öncesi ve sonrası radyoloji eğitiminin yenilenmesi ve iyileştirilmesinin gerekliliğini göstermektedir., Purpose:The aim of this study was to investigate the level of knowledge medical students, assistant doctors, nurses and hospital workers have about the doses of radiation. Materials and methods: Our study was a descriptive investigation and the data was collected by conducting a questionnaire from April 2013 to June 2013. The subjects, consisting of medical students, assistant doctors, nurses and hospital workers from a university hospital completed the questionnaire. The local ethics committee of the university approved the study protocol. Results:We interviewed 274 subjects and 250 (91.2%) of them accepted to complete the questionnaire and so, comprised the study group. The percentage of subjects who knew that MRI and US involved ionising radiation was 38% and 19.6%, respectively. Most of the subjects underestimated the dose of radiation involved in an abdominal CT, barium enema and plain film of the abdomen while others overestimated the dose of radiation in mammography. Correct answer rates about radiation protection of pregnant women were over 90%. Conclusion:Current pre and postgraduate radiology education seems to need revision and upgrading, to improve the knowledge level and facilitate safe practices in the medical field.

Gâteaux türevinden yararlanılarak plak-zemin etkileşimi karışık sonlu eleman yöntemi ile ele alınmış, yayılı kütle matrisinde plak dönel eylemsizlikleri de gözetilmiştir. Akışkan-yapı etkileşimi içinse sınır eleman yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Uygulanan kabuller, plak-zemin sisteminin akışkanla temas sırasında kendi doğal modlarında titreştiği ve her bir elastik moda karşılık plak ıslak yüzeyi üzerinde bir basınç dağılımının oluştuğu şeklindedir. Akışkan serbest yüzey etkileri sonsuz-frekans kabulü altında ihmal edilmiştir. Ortaya çıkan etkileşim kuvvetleri akışkan eylemsizlik etkisini temsil eden genelleştirilmiş ek su kütlesi formundadır. Sunulan çözüm yaklaşımı örneklerle test edilmiş, zemin varlığının ve akışkan etkileşiminin Mindlin plağının dinamik davranışına olan etkileri parametrik olarak ayrıca incelenmiştir., This study is concerned with the dynamic response of Mindlin plates resting on an Pasternak foundation and simultaneously interacting partially with a quiescent fluid field. Plate-foundation interaction is simulated in the framework of a mixed finite element by employing the Gâteaux differential. Consistent mass matrix formulation is used by considering the rotary inertia. Fluid-structure interaction analysis is carried out by the boundary element method. It is assumed that the plate – elastic foundation system vibrates in its in vacuo eigenmodes when it is in contact with fluid, and that each mode gives rise to a corresponding surface pressure distribution on the wetted surface of the structure. The fluid free-surface effects are neglected by imposing the high-frequency limit condition. The fluid-structure interaction forces are calculated in terms of the generalized hydrodynamic added mass coefficients that represent the inertial effect of the fluid. The methodology is verified, and the influence of foundation and fluid interaction on the dynamic behavior of the Mindlin plate is studied through parametric investigations.

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada Türkiye`nin Denizli ilindeki epilepsi prevalansının değerlendirilmesi ve Türkiye`nin diğer şehirlerinde ve dünyanın değişik bölgelerinde yapılan diğer prevalans çalışmaları ile karşılaştırılması amaçlandı.YÖNTEMLER: Bu amaçla 4666 kişi çalışmaya dahil edildi. Öncelikle bu kişiler yüz yüze görüşme ile bir sorgulama formu doldurdu. Nöbeti olabileceği düşünülen olgular klinisyenler tarafından değerlendirildi ve tumüne EEG uygulandı.BULGULAR: Elde edilen prevalans değeri, Türkiye de benzer sorgulama formu ile yapılan diğer çalışmalara göre daha düşük saptandı. Bu durum Denizli ilinde eğitim ve gelişmişlik düzeyinin diğer çalışmalarda taranan illere göre daha yüksek olması ile açıklanabilir. Diğer taraftan dünya genelindeki çalışmalar ile karşılaştırıldığında, elde ettiğimiz sonuçlar gelişmekte olan ülkelerin sonuçlarına benzerdi.SONUÇ: Denizli de epilepsi prevalansı 5.7/1000 idi. Hastalık başlangıçı ilk dekadda daha sıktı., OBJECTIVE: In this study we aimed to evaluate the prevalence of epilepsy in Denizli, a city of Turkey, and to compare it with both studies from the world and Turkey.METHODS: With this purpose 4666 people were included to the study. Primarily they filled a questionnaire form face to face. The ones suggested to have seizure were evaluated by clinicians and EEG was performed.RESULTS: The prevalence of epilepsy was found 5.7 /1000 in Denizli. The beginning of the disease was more frequent in the first two decades.CONCLUSION: This prevalence value was lesser than the ones using the same questionnaire in Turkey suggesting a higher educational grade and development in Denizli. On the other hand when compared worldwide, the results were similar to the ones observed in the developing countries.

AMAÇ: Bu çalışma, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi uzmanlık ile 5 ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tıp uygulamaları hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini ve tutumlarını belirlemek ve bilgi düzeylerini ve tutumlarını etkileyen faktörleri saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır.YÖNTEMLER: Çalışma Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’ndeki uzmanlık öğrencileri ve 5. ve 6. sınıföğrencileri arasında Nisan 2011 tarihinde gerekli izinler alınarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya toplam 184 kişi katılmıştır. Ankettin birinci bölümünde katılanlara demografi k ve sosyoekonomik durumlarını gösterir sorular sorulmuş ve katılanların sosyoekonomik seviyesini tespit etmek için Aile Refah Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. İkinci bölümde TAT’ayönelik bilgi durumları, üçüncü bölümde de Bütünleştirici Tıp Tutum Anketi (IMAQ) kullanılmıştır.BULGULAR: Katılımcıların TAT hakkında en iyi bildikleri yöntem ‘‘diyet”tir. TAT’a yönelik tutum puan ortalaması 118,3±14,5 (min-max: 85-170)’dir. Tutum puanlarının cinsiyete, yaşa, anne ve babanın öğrenim ve çalışma durumuna, aile tipine, kardeş sayısına ve sosyoekonomik duruma göre ortalamalarında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır (tüm p>0.05). İstatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklı bulunan tek ortalama en uzun yaşanılan yerleşimyeri değişkenidir Sonuç: Tıp eğitim sürecindeki kişilerin bu konuda yeterli bilgilerinin olmadığı, tutum açısından uzmanlık öğrencileri ve tıp fakültesi öğrencileri arasında fark olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır., OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the residents’ and 5th and 6th year medical students’ knowledge and attitudestowards complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in Pamukkale University and to fi nd out the affectingfactors of the participants’ knowledge and attitudes towards CAM.METHODS: The study was completed among the residents and 5th and 6th year medical studentsof Pamukkale University in April 2011 after obtaining the necessary permissions. Total 184 persons participated in this study. The fi rst section of the questionnaire included questions on the participant’s demographic and socioeconomic status and Family Welfare Scale was used to determine the socioeconomic status of the participants. Knowledge questions of participants on CAM were in the second section and Integrative MedicineAttitude Questionnaire (IMAQ) was in the third section of the questionnaire.RESULTS: The best known CAM method was “diet” among the residents and medical students participated in the study. The average score for the attitude towards CAM was 118.3 ± 14.5 (min-max: 85-170). There was no difference in the mean attitude scores between residents and medical students in terms of gender, age, mother's and father's education and employment status, family type, number of siblings and socio-economic status (all p>0.05). Amaç: Yaşam doyumu kişinin hedefl erine ulaşma derecesi olarak da tanımlanabilir. Öz-bakım gücü ise bireyin kişisel olarak yaşamını, sağlık ve iyiliğini korumak için kendine düşeni yerine getirmesidir. Bu çalışma, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yaşam doyumu ve öz-bakım gücü düzeylerini belirlemek, bunlar arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek ve etkileyen faktörleri ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın verileri 11-22 Ekim 2010 tarihleri arasında gerekli izinler alındıktan sonra toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dönem 1-6 öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem seçimine gidilmemiş, bütün öğrencilerin araştırmaya alınması planlanmıştır. Sözlü onam veren 310 (%70,0) öğrenci araştırmaya katılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında kullanılan anket formu üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm sosyo-demografi k özellikleri sorgulamaktadır. Bu bölümde sosyoekonomik seviyeyi tespit etmek için Aile Refah Ölçeği’ne yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölüm Öz-bakım Gücü Ölçeği’nden, üçüncü bölüm ise Yaşam Doyum Ölçeği’nden oluşmaktadır. Bulgular: Katılımcıların çoğunluğu kadın (%55,8), yaş ortalaması ve standart sapması (ss) 20,7(1,8)’dir. Öz-bakım gücü (ÖBG) puan ortalaması (ss) 95,8 (18,7), alt ve üst değerler ise 38 ve 140 olarak bulunmuştur. Self care agency instead can be defi ned as the individual’s ability to perform self-care activities in order to protect himself and his health and well-being. This study determines the level of life satisfaction and self-care agency of the medical faculty students in Pamukkale Pamukkale University and examines the infl uencing factors. Materials and Methods: Data were collected during October 11-22, 2010 after obtaining the necessary permits. The study population consisted of all students of Pamukkale University, Faculty of Medicine, classes 1 through 6. The sample selection was not performed, all students were planned to take the survey. Three hundred ten (70.0%) students who provided a verbal consent participated in this study. The questionnaire for data collection consisted of three parts. The fi rst part included questions on socio-demographic characteristics. Family Welfare Scale was used to determine socioeconomic level of the participants. The second and third parts included the Life Satisfaction and Self Care Agency questionnaires, respectively. Results: The majority of respondents (55.8%) were female, mean and standard deviation (sd) of participants’ age was 20.7 (1.8). The mean(sd) of Life Satisfaction (LS) score 24.5(6.5), while the highest and lowest values were 5 and 35. The mean(sd) of self-care agency (SCA) score was 95.8 (18.7), while the highest and lowest values were 38 and 140. Bu çalışma bir topluluğa yönelik planlanan eğitim programının öncesinde durum tespiti amacıyla yapılmıştır.YÖNTEMLER: Araştırma, Ağustos 2009 yılında Denizli ili, Honaz ilçesi 2 No’lu Aile Sağlık Birimi bölgesinde yaşayan 0-5 yaş arası çocuk sahibi olan anneler üzerinde yapılmış kesitsel bir çalışmadır. Gerekli izinler alındıktan sonra evrenin %62’sine ulaşılmıştır. Annelerin evlerine gidilerek, yüz yüze görüşme yoluyla bilgi toplanmıştır. Güneşin etkileri ile ilgili bilgi düzeyini ölçmek amacıyla 12 ve güneşin zararlarında korunma konusunda 16 soru sorulmuştur.BULGULAR: Çalışmaya katılan annelerin yaş ortalaması 28,5±5,2 yıldır. Ankete katılan annelerin %60’ı ev hanımı ve %56’sı ilkokul mezunudur. Annelerin bilgi puan ortalaması 7,17±2,1’dir. Annelerin bilgi düzeyleri yaş, eğitim durumu, çalışma durumu, çocuk sayısı, aile tipi ve sağlık güvencesinden etkilenmemektedir (tüm P>0,05). Annelerin güneşten korunma amacıyla kendileri için ‘Gölgede bulunma’ (%96,3) çocukları için ise ‘Açık renkgiysileri tercih etme’ (%93,8) en çok kullandıkları yöntemdir. Güneş kremi kullanma oranları ise kadınlar için %18,5 iken bu oran çocukları için %21’dir. Annelerin korunma puan ortalaması 9,33±1,9’dur.SONUÇ: Araştırmamızda annelerin güneşin zararlı etkilerini bilme ve uygun güneşten korunma davranışı gösterme oranları yüksek bulunmamıştır. Konu ile ilgili gelecekte yapılacak müdahale çalışmalarının planlanmasında bu bulguların göz önünde bulundurulmasının yararlı olacağı kanısındayız., OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the study was to determine the knowledge and behaviors of mothers with small children on the effects, either benefi cial or detrimental, of the sun on health. This work was planned as preliminary assessment of current status before planning a public health educational program in a community.METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the inclusion area of Denizli of HonazCounty Family Health Unit No. 2, on August 2009. Eighty one mothers (62%) were reached during the study. A face-to-face interview at the participant home was completed using a questionnaire including questions on sociodemographics, health insurance, etc. There were 12 knowledge questions on the health effects of the Sunand 16 behavioral questions.RESULTS: Participants age ranged 19-49, with a mean 28.5±5.2. Sixty percent of the surveyed mothers were housewives and 56.0% were primary school graduates. The mean of knowledge level of mothers was 7,17±2.1. This study aimed to evaluate the role of alfa-2 agonist infusion, with dexmedetomidine or midazolam, on hemodynamic and respiratory parameters while titrating the sedation level with the bispectral index (BIS) during cataract surgery.Ninety consenting ASA class I-III patients who were electively undergoing cataract surgery were enrolled in the double blind study. A random infusion of 0.25 microg kg(-1) hr(-1) Dexmedetomidine (Group D), 25 microg kg(-1) hr(-1) midazolam (Group M), or saline for controls (Group C) was administered after mounting a BIS monitor and routine anesthetic care. The target BIS level was85. An additional bolus dose in 1 mL increments of the study drug or cessation of the infusion was adjusted according to the BIS level. Changes in respiratory and vital parameters were noted and, in case of mild pain, 25 microg fentanyl was administered as a bolus. Pain and sedation were evaluated in the early postoperative period using visual analogue and four rating sedation scales.In Group D, heart rate decreased in the later periods of surgery (35-50 min) and in the early postoperative period (5(th) and 15(th) min). Dose adjustments were required in six and ten patients in Groups D and M, respectively. Pain scores were lower with dexmedetomidine infusion.Dexmedetomidine infusion mildly decreased heart rate in the later periods of surgery with better pain scores in the postoperative period. Dexmedetomidine should be an alternative for intraoperative sedation in outpatient cataract surgery.

İzogeometrik teorinin temel amacı, geometrik tanım için kullanılan fonksiyonların, aynı zamanda analizin şekil (dağılım, yaklaşım, test, deneme) fonksiyonları olarak kullanarak, bilgisayar destekli tasarım (BDT) ile sonlu elemanlar analizini (SEA) tek bir çatı altında toplamaktır. Bir mühendislik sürecine bakıldığında, tasarım ve analizin iki önemli aşamayı oluşturduğu açıktır. Tasarım, oluşturulmak istenen sistemin geometrik bilgisinin oluşturulduğu ve geometrinin detaylı bir şekilde temsil edilip sunulduğu aşamayı oluştururken, analiz kısmı yapının iç ve dış yükler altında göstereceği ilgili kritik tepkilerin olayın doğasına giderek matematiksel modelleme ile ön görülmesini sağlayan aşamadır. Fakat, tipik bir mühendislik sürecinde bu kadar önem arz eden iki aşama uzun yıllardır birbirinden ayrı durmaktaydı. Tasarım aşamasından sonra analize geçildiğinde geometri tekrar tanımlanıp, ağ yapısı oluşturma işlemi yapılması gereklidir. Sonlu elemanlar analizi mevcut geometriye, Lagrange polinomları gibi tanımlanması ve hesaplanması basit, düşük mertebeli fonksiyonlar ile yakınsamaya çalışırken, bilgisayar destekli dizayn, gelişen teknoloji ile beraber arzu edilen geometriyi yüksek mertebeli (Bézier eğrileri, B-spline veya uniform olmayan B-spline eğrileri (NURBS)) eğriler ile tanımlar. Dolayısıyla tasarım aşamasından sonra analize geçildiğinde geometri tekrar tanımlanıp, ağ yapısı oluşturma işlemleri klasik SEA yaklaşımının muhtemel olarak ortaya çıkarabileceği bir takım yakınsama, hassasiyet ve benzeri hataları azaltmak için son yıllarda yüksek doğruluklu geometrik tanımlama ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar hızla artmış ve çeşitli yeni yaklaşımlar araştırmacılar tarafından ortaya konmuştur. Bu çalışmada da, BDT ve SEA aşamalarını tek bir çatı altında toplayarak, NURBS tabanlı izogeometrik teori tanıtılmış ve bu iki farklı yapının (BDT ve SEA) nasıl bir araya getirildiği, geliştirilen izogeometrik kodların bir bilgisayar destekli dizayn programı ile ilişkilendirerek gösterilmiştir. Bu kapsamda, izogeometrik analizin temellerinden bahsetmeden önce, ilk olarak Bézier, B-spline ve NURBS eğrilerinin matematiksel temelleri, birbirleriyle olan ilişkileri ve sahip oldukları özellikler ayrıntılı bir şekilde tanıtılmış ve böylelikle klasik sonlu eleman şekil fonksiyonları ve ağ yapısı oluşturma konularında farklı ve benzer olan özellikleri ortaya konmuştur. Daha sonra, izogeometrik analiz için fazlasıyla önem taşıyan ağ yapısı modifikasyonlarından bahsedilmiş, klasik SEA ağ modifikasyonlarından farkları ve benzerlikleri ortaya konmuştur. Sonrasında, bu eğrilerin analizin şekil fonksiyonları olarak nasıl kullanıldığından bahsedilmiştir. İzogeometrik analiz ile BDT yardımıyla oluşturulan geometrinin direk sistemin analizi için de kullanılması sağlanır ve bu durumda klasik SEM yaklaşımında yer alan geometriyi düşük mertebeli fonksiyonlarla tanımlamaya (yakınsamaya) çalışma ve sonrasında gerekli olan ağ yapısı oluşturma işlemleri de ortadan kalkmış olur. Bu durumda mevcut zaman kayıplarının önüne geçilmesini sağlar. Tez kapsamında analizlerin şekil fonksiyonları olarak NURBS eğrileri kullanılmıştır. İzogeometrik teori, sonlu elemanlar literatüründe fazlasıyla popüler olan izoparametrik sonlu elemanlar yaklaşımını temel alır. Nümerik yöntem olarak Galerkin yöntemi seçilmiştir. Galerkin yöntemi sonlu elemanlar analizi literatüründe de sıklıkla karşılaşılabilen bir nümerik çözüm yöntemidir (Galerkin Finite Element). Bu yöntem de ilk olarak incelenen problemin matematik modeli diferansiyel formda (strong form) elde edilir ve daha sonrasında problemin varyasyonel formu (variational or weak form) tanımlanır. Sonrasında, bu form içerisinde ağırlık (weight) ve deneme (test) fonksiyonları tanımlanarak lineer denklem sistemi ve bu sistemin matris formu (katılık matrisi, yük ve yer değiştirme vektörleri) elde edilir. Ağırlık ve deneme fonksiyonları NURBS eğrileri ile tanımlanır. SEM yaklaşımında yer alan, ağ yapısı tanımlayan düğüm noktalarının (nodes) yerini, izogemetrik analizde, eğrilerin tanımlanmasını sağlayan kontrol noktaları (control points) alır. Analizde dikkate alınması gereken fiziksel, parametrik ve doğal koordinatları barındıran üç farklı tanım bölgesi vardır. NURBS şekil fonksiyonları parametrik uzayda tanımlanıp ve değerleri hesaplanırken, mevcut fiziksel uzaydaki tanım kontrol noktaları ile sağlanır. Parametrik uzaydaki değerler elde edilebildiği için integrasyon bu uzayda gerçekleştirilir ve dönüşüm matrisi (Jacobian) yardımıyla fiziksel uzaydaki değerler elde edilir. Sayısal integrasyon ise doğal koordinatları barındıran eşlenik uzayda gerçekleştirilir, bunun için de yine ayrı bir dönüşüm matrisi daha tanımlanır. Sayısal örnek kısmında ise dört farklı yapısal probleme; kiriş basit eğilmesi, kiriş modal analizi, levha eğilmesi ve levha modal analizi problemlerine yer verilmiştir. İlgili sayısal örneklerin izogeometrik analiz formülasyonları ve çözüm için izlenen yol, katılık ve kütle matrislerinin, yük vektörlerinin nasıl edildiği anlatılmıştır. Kiriş problemleri için Euler-Bernoulli kiriş modeli seçilirken levha problemleri için klasik plak teorisi (Kircchoff plak teorisi) göz önünde bulundurularak problemler çözülmüştür. Problemlerde ele alınan geometriler ticari bir BDT programı olan Rhinoceros 5 ile oluşturulmuştur, programın kendi bünyesinde barındırdığı komutlarla ağ modifikasyonunu yapma olanağına sahiptir. İzogeometrik analiz kodları ise Matlab R2012b programı yardımıyla oluşturulmuştur. Gerekli bütün temel kodların algoritmaları Piegl ve Tiller (1997) ve Rogers (2001) kaynaklarında bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, yine Rhinoceros 5 içerisinde oluşturulan altprogramlarla, oluşturulan geometrilerin bilgileri dış ortama alınıp, Matlab yardımıyla oluşturulan izogeometrik analiz kodları ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Böylece, bir BDT programıyla hazırlanan kodların birlikte aynı ortamda çalışmaları sağlanmıştır. Analizler farklı NURBS yapıları için tekrar edilmiş ve sonuçlar hem kendi aralarında hem de analitik ve SEM sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırılmıştır. Verilen sonuçlarla bu yöntemin geçerliliği, standart SEM yaklaşımına göre güçlü yanları ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Her şeyden önce yöntem BDT ve SEM çalışma ortamlarını bir araya getirerek daha integre bir yapı sunmaktadır. Nihai sonuçlar göstermektedir ki izogeometrik analiz yakınsama ve hassasiyet konusunda üstün özelliklere sahiptir. Bunun da en önemli sebebi yüksek mertebeden eğrilerin analizin şekil fonksiyonları olarak atanmasıdır. Seyrek olarak oluşturulmuş ağ yapılarında bile doğru sonuca çok yakın sonuçlar verdiği karşılaştırmalarla ortaya konmuştur. Fonksiyonların mertebelerini arttırarak düşük serbestlik dereceleri ve dolayısıyla düşük yoğunluklu ağ yapısı elde ederek, işlem hacminin küçültülmesine de olanak sağlamaktadır., Isogeometric analysis (IGA) is introduced and applied structural problems relate with beams and plates in this thesis framework. The main idea of isogeometric analysis is to combine Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and join them in a single tool because design (CAD) and analysis (FEA) stages are crucial for engineering processes and both of them have used different basis for many years. While classic FEA tries to approximate actual geometry using low-order and simply defined basis functions, IGA uses geometric definition defined exactly by CAD tools. Thus, geometry creates analysis in IGA and basis functions employed for both CAD and FEA are same. In this thesis, non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) is chosen for analysis basis because NURBS is quite common geometric tool in CAD technology due to its distinguishable flexibility and precision about creating curves and surfaces. Before getting into details of IGA, theory of NURBS and its antecedents; Bézier curves and B-splines is introduced and some examples are illustrated. Then, the theory of IGA is explained using Galerkin's method as numerical method. Actually, isoparametric finite element method which is very well known approach in FEA literature is invoked also in IGA. Actual geometry has its place in pyhsical domain and integration over elements should be performed in this domain. However, basis functions and their derivatives can be calculated in parametric domain and this makes necessary to define mapping from parametric domain to physical domain. On the other hand, another mapping should be defined for numerical integration on parent domain. As numerical method, Galerkin's approach is chosen and its steps and outputs are showed. In order to implement Galerkin's method, weak (variational) form of the problem is defined and then algebraic equations are obtained defining weight and test functions. IGA formulations are explained for four different problems; bending of beams, free vibration analysis of beams, plate bending and free vibration analysis of beam, IGA formulations are explained. Bu şartlar tüm mühendislik araçları için aynıdır. Bunlar zaman kısıtı ve ekonomik kısıt yani yakıt kısıtıdır. Deniz araçlarında bu iki şartı birden sağlamanın yolu olabildiğince hafif araçlar üretmektir. Deniz araçlarında ağırlığı azalttıkça zamandan tasarruf edebilir aynı zamanda daha az yakıt harcamasını sağlayabilirsiniz. Tabi bu dizayn ve üretim süreçlerindeki en genel ifadedir, bu süreçlerde bir çok farklı kısıt ve koşul bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, yakıt ve zamandan olabildiğince tasarruf sağlayabilmek için üretilen yüksek hızlı kompozit tekneler ele alınmıştır. Değindiğimiz gibi, deniz araçlarını hızlı ve yakıttan daha da tasarruf edecek şekilde dizayn ve imal etmek istiyorsak olabildiğince hafif üretmek önceliğimiz olmalıdır. Bu noktada deniz araçlarının imalat malzemesi ön plana çıkmaktadır. Seçeceğimiz malzeme deniz araçlarının performansına direkt etki etmektedir. Deniz araçlarının hafif olmasını isterken, tabi ki güvenliği de göz ardı edemeyiz. Malzemelerin minumum mekanik ve mukavemet özelliklerini karşılaması gerekmektedir. Bu durumda, kullanımı artık birçok sektörde iyice artan kompozit malzemeler denizcilik sektörü için de elverişili bir malzeme olmuştur. Yüksek hızlı teknelerde de kompozit malzemeler kullanılmaktadır. Yüksek hızlı kompozit teknelerin hafifliği ve yüksek hızlarda hizmet sunabilmeleri son yıllardaki üretimlerinin artmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu teknelerin zorlu deniz koşullarında, hızlı ve güvenli bir şekilde görevlerini yerine getirmeleri istenmektedir. Bu yüzden mekanik olarak bu şartlarda çalışmaya elverişili olmalılardır. Yüksek hızlı kompozit teknelerin çalışmaları esnasında, baş kısımları birbirinden farklı büyüklükte statik ve dinamik yüklere maruz kalmaktadırlar. Bu çalışma iki ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde yüksek hızlı teknelerin baş kısımlarının dövünme esnasında maruz kaldığı hidrodinamik kuvvetler hesaplanmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise yüksek hızlı teknelerde dövünme kuvvetlerine maruz kalan kompozit malzemenin statik ve dinamik davranışı incelenmiştir. Hidrodinamik basınç kuvvetleri bulunurken, tekne formunun V şekilinde olduğu kabul edilmiştir. Suya giren yapı rijit olarak alınmıştır. Akışkan ise durgun kabul edilmiştir. Akışkan aynı zamanda döndürülemez (irrotosyanel) ve sıkıştırılamazdır. Analitik çözümlerle basınç kuvvetleri bulunmuştur. Basınç kuvvetlerinin büyüklüğüne etkiyen bir çok parametre bulunmaktadır. Bunların başlıcaları V tipindeki yapının suya giriş açısı ve suya giriş hızlarıdır. Bu çalışma kapsamında farklı sayıda suya giriş açıları ve hızları için parametrik bir çalışma yapılmıştır. Yapı üzerindeki kompozit paneller referans bölgesi olarak ele alınmış basınç değerlerinin bu kompozit paneller üzerindeki değişimi gösterilmiştir. Kompozit paneller de farklı kenar oranlarına ( farklı boylara) sahiptirler. Bu durum kompozit panelin tamamının suya girişini değiştirdiği gibi, hidrodinamik darbeden dolayı oluşan basınç kuvvetinin değişmesine neden olur. Aynı zamanda kompozit plakların doğal titreşim frekansları da kenar oranlarının değişmesinden etkilenmektedir. Diğer bölümde ise, yüksek hızlı kompozit teknelerde kullanılan karbonfiber-epoxy malzemeden üretilmiş kompozit panellerin statik ve dinamik analizi yapılmıştır. Hidrodinamik darbeden doğan basınç kuvvetlerinin bulunması için malzemenin ne olduğunun önemi yoktur, o bölümde malzeme rijit kabul edilmiştir. Bu bölümde ise aynı ölçülere sahip panellerin karbonfiber-epoxy malzeme ile üretildiği kabul edilmiş ve bu kompozit malzemelerin statik analizleri yapılmış, doğal frekansları bulunmuştur. Kompozit malzemelerin yapısal davranışlarını etkileyen bir çok faktör bulunmaktadır. Bunların en önemlilerinden bir tanesi de fiberlerin yönelim açıları ve katmanların dizilimleridir. Nasıl bir mekanik davranış sergileyeceklerini daha önceden bilmek kaydıyla kompozit malzeme kullanırken farklı yönelim açıları ve dizilimler bir çok avantaj getirir. Farklı kombinasyonlarla farklı mekanik özellikler elde etmemizi sağlar. Bu çalışmada kompozit panllerin iki farklı sınır şartında mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir: Dört kenar basit mesnetli ve dört kenar ankastre mesnetli. 5 farklı kenar oranına sahip panellerin herbiri 5 farklı dizilime sahiptirler. Tüm bu durumların kompozit panellerin statik ve dinamik davranışına olan etkisi ağırlı artıklar yöntemi olan Galerkin yöntemiyle ve sonlu elemanlar analizi yapan bir program olan Abaqus CAE ile incelenmiştir. Galerkin yönteminden ve Abaqus sonlu elemanlar yazılımından elde edilen sonuçların uyum içerisinde olduğu gözlenmiştir., Before design and production process of every kind of engineering vessels; including airccraft, automotive and marine vessels need to achive two important items. Every engineering vehicle needs to be fast not to consume so much time. Another target of engineering vessels is not to consume too much fuel to be more economically. Marine vessels are designed and built to be more light to achive these two important items. We can achive not to consume too much time and fuel by building lighter vessels. This diversity of marine vessels is being larger and larger dy by day. All vessel owner wants fast and economical boats. It doesn’t change this matter the boat type and the service area. In marine sector, to make the boats faster and low fuel consumer, the boats are produced more lighter. In this work, a mechanical analysis has been applied for the high speed boats. As we said before, if we would like to consume less fuel and less time, we have to build the marine vessels lighter. At this point, the building material of marine vessels have important role at the weight of the marine vessel. While we traying to build lighter vessels, we also have to consider the safety. We mean mechanical properties and strength of the marine vessels. To achive all of these aims together, composite materials are very suitable for marine vessels. These materials have a large area of usage at different engineering industries including aircraft, marine and automotive sectors. At the production of high speed marine vessels, composite materials are used mostly. The demand to the high speed vessels is increased because of different reasons. These kind of boats need to achive their missons whatever the sea condition at the high speeds. At these conditions, these boats need to be reliable mechanically. In this work, the bow-flare of high speed boats are investigated. The bow-flares of high speed boat are exposed different kind of static and dynamic loads. This work includes two main parts. In first part, hidrodinamik impact pressures are investigated analitical. In second part, the static bending and dynamic behavior is investigated to the composite panels which are used at the bow-flares of marine vessels. In rough seas with large relative vessel motion, slamming may occur with large water impact loads. Usually, slamming loads are much larger than other wave loads. Sometimes marine vessels suffer local damage from the impact load or large scale buckling on the deck. For high-speed marine vessels, even if each impact load is small, frequent impact loads accelerate fatigue failures of hulls. Thus, slamming loads may threaten the safety of marine vessels. The expansion of marine vessel’s size and new consepts in fast marine vessels have decreased relative rigidity causing in some cases serious wrecks. A rational and practical estimation method of wave impact loads is thus one of the most important prerequisites for safety design of marine vessels. Wave impact has challenged many researchers and it acan be said that the mechanicsm of wave impacts are correctly understood for the 2-d case, and accurate impact load estimation is possible for the deterministic case. The long-term prediction of wave impact loads can be also given in the framework of linear stochastic theories. However, our knowledge on wave impact is still far from sufficent. In this work, we investigated the pressures which occurs while the boat slamming. The fundamental hypotheses of the mathematical description of the fluid are recalled that; the fluid is initially at rest, inviscid, incompressible and irrotational. The body is infinetly rigid, gravitational force is neglected and the atmospheric pressure is equal to zero. The effect of air trapped between the body and the free surface of the water is negligible. While slamming, mostly bow section of the marine vessels exposed to impact pressures. Here, the bow section of marine vessels assumed as a wedge shaped.Here for the analysis, the wedge shaped bow section of the vessel is partially modeled as composite rectangular plate. There are two general parameters which affect the impact pressures. These are the vertical velocity of the vessel and the deadrise angle of the bow-flare section. The vertical impact velocities are constant even after the boat enter the water as many researchers has done. Different five velocities has been used for the analysis. These are 0.2, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 m/s. The other parameter which effects the impact pressure is deadrise angle of the bow section of marine vessel. This deadrise angle of the vessel directly effects the wetting time of the bow-flare. Five different deadrise angles has been used for this work. These are: 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 degrees. Another parameter which effects the wetting of panels is the length of panels. At the wedge shaped bow section, referance panels are used to study. These panels length effect the wetting time and the distrubition of the pressure. The lengths of panels are 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 meters. The analysis have been applied according to these parameters and impact pressures are investigated. The impact pressures are represented here in two different ways. Firstly the spatial impact pressure distribution at different times are represented. For different times, the impact pressure distribution along the plate is shown. Here, while the impact pressure sweeps the plate, the pressure changes at the different times. The second second way to show how the impact pressure distribution changes on the plate is temporal distribution. In this way, we can see that at a given point on the plate how the impact pressure changes according to time while the load sweeping accross the plate. In this way, we know the total time of splashing. When we define a point on the plate, from beginning to the end we can see the change of the impact pressure. The pressure at a given point starts from its maximum and after this point is under the free surface, the impact doesn’t change. At the second main part of this work, static bending and free vibration behavior of laminated composite panels whis is widely used at bow-flare of high speed marine vessels. Linear static analysis allows engineers to test different load conditions and their resulting stress and deformation. Bow-flares of high speed vessel’s are exposed to different loads. Knowing how a design will perform under different conditions allows engineers to make changes prior to physical prottyping, thus saving both money and time. Apart from static analysis, vibration analysis is also a critical component of a design. Any physical system can vibrate and the vibration of bow-flares of high speed vessels can cause hazardous results. The frequencies at which vibration naturally occurs and the mode shapes which the vibrating panles assumes are the properties of the system. The designer and marine engineer must know these properties of the system in order to design the high speed vessels against the failure due to vibrations. Inherent vibration modes in structural components or mechanical systems can shorten the equipment life and cause premature or completely unanticipated failure, often resulting in hazardous situations. Resonaces are determined by the material properties ( such as mass, stiffness, damping) and boundary conditions of the structure. If either the material properties or the boundary conditions of a structure change, its modes will change. Thats why, in this work a parametric study is applied for composite plates. Modes are used as a simple and efficent means of characterizing resonant vibration, which makes a structure to vibrate with excessive, sustained oscillatory motion. Resonant vibration is caused by an interaction between the inertial and elastic properties of the material within the structure. As we mention before, to make boats faster, the first thing we need is using lighter materials. Composite materials have found increasing applications in enginnering structures and in manufacturing industry. Composite materials can be optimized for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and heat and moisture resistance by changing the orientation of fibers. Composite materials have much higher strength to weight ratio than the conventional materials. The structural elements such as bars, beams, and plates are made of stacking together many plies of fiber reinforced layers in different angles to achive the desired properties. Because of all these reasons, mostly, high speed vessels built with composite materials. Inthis work, for different panels static and dynamic analysis is applied. All plates are rectangular laminated composite plates. The material is assumed carbonfiber-epoxy which has a high strength-weight ratio and high stiff-weight ratio like other composite materials. Two different boundary conditions is applied for all plates. These are all edges full clamped and all edges simple support boundary conditions. For the orientation three different angles are used 0, 45, 90 degrees whic are easy to use at production and the most used angles. Six different orientation and sequence is used for the static and dynamic analysis. The another parameter whic affect the static and dynamic behavior of composite panles is the aspect ratio. Aspect ratio has direct effect on the mechanical behavior of composite panels. Six different aspect ratios is analysed for this work. One edge of the panels has the constant length 0.5m., the other changes due to different aspect ratios. In this study, while investigating the maximum deflection and natural frequencies of the plates, the classical laminated plate theory which is based on the classical plate theory is applied. In the classical laminated plate theory it is assumed that the Kirchhoff Hypothesis holds. The bending and natural vibration of laminated composite panels are determined by using weighted residual method Galerkin formulation and finite element method Abaqus (CAE). The maximum deflections occurring at the middle of the plates are determined for all possible changes on the composite plates. The lowest four natural frequencies are determined for all possible changes on the composite plates such as, the change in the boundary conditions (all edge fully clamped and all edge simple supported), the change in the laminate configuration (six different symmetrical configuration), the change in the aspect ratios. The study shows that; the plates with the fully clamped and simple supported boundary conditions behave in a similar way for static deflections. Güvenilirlik hesapları gemi inşaa mühendisiliği için de onlarca yıldır kullanılıyor ve yakın zamanda daha sık kullanılacak gibi gözüküyor. Güvenilirlik açısından yapılan gemi yapı analizlerinin pek çok yaklaşımı mevcut ver hedef güvenilirlik seviyeleri yeni yöntemler ve kurallar ile değişiyor. Bu tezde gemilerin orta kesitinin en yüksek mukavemetinin hesaplanış metotları açıklanacaktır. Hasofer-Lind güvenilirlik dizini ile birinci dereceden güvenilirlik analizi yapılacak ve normal dağılım göstermeyen değerlerin Hasofer-Lind dizininde çözümü için Rackwitz-Fiessler dönüşüm prosedürü uygulanacaktır. Güvenilirliğin önemli bir konusu olarak farklı sınır durumlarında analiz yapılıp karşılaştırması nümerik örnekler bölümünde işlenecektir. Ayrıca, güvenilirlik analizinin temel konuları ve bunların gemi yapılarına uygulanışına değinilmiştir., In all engineering disciplines, reliability considerations are playing increasing role. Since failures in a system increase costs or be fatal, engineers are trying to minimize the probability of failures. Relibility calculations have also been used in naval architecture for a number of decades and seem to be much widely used in the near future. There are many aprroaches to ship constructural analysis from the reliability perspective and as time goes, target reliability levels change to due change of methods and regulations. In this thesis, the methods to calculate ultimate hull girder strength of ships will be explained. The first order reliability method with Hasofer-Lind reliability index will be used and Rackwitz-Fiessler method will be applied to find equivalent normal variables of nonnormal variables in order to use Hasofer-Lind reliability index. As an important part of the reliability methods, the different limit state functions will be shown and a comparison of results of two different limit state functions calculated by Hasofer-Lind reliability index will be done in the numerical examples section. In this section, there are also two very simple examples to express the basics of these methods. Ayrıca, akışkan-yapı etkileşimi etkileri olan, genelleştirilmiş ek su kütlesi ve hidrodinamik sönüm katsayıları da frekansa bağlı olarak hesaplanmıştır., When designing a ship or an offshore structure, the naval architect has to meet requirements of initial cost, safety, reliability, performance and so on. For this reason, tends to rely heavily on semi-empirical rules based on past experience; the result is that designs evolve only slowly from one type of vessel to another. So as the years passed; a more detailed and realistic investigations of ships are required. The hull of a ship is usually based on considerations of static and quasi-static analyses, whereas in reality the structure will operate in conditions determined by the wind and the seaway. Traditionally, the behaviour of a moving floating structure in water has been divided somewhat artificially, into distinct subjects, each with its own basic assumptions. Hydroelasticity is the study of the behaviour of a flexible body moving through a liquid. When applied to a flexible ship hull or offshore structure, it may be used to determine stresses, motions and distortions under the actions of external fluid loadings arising from the seaway. In this study, the hydroelastic behaviour of a supply vessel under regular waves was investigated with using finite element method and panel method together. İncelemiş olduğumuz gemi, geniş ambar ağzı açıklıklı, ve iki ambarlıdır. Hem iki ambarının olması hem de 170m den küçük olması nedeniyle sınıflandırma kuruluşlarının 170m üzeri gemiler için önerdiği gemi ortasındaki üç ambarın modellemesine dayalı direk hesap prosedürü kullanılamamaktadır. Tek ambarın modellemesine dayalı hesap prosedürü de bu tipte bir gemi için yetersiz kalmaktadır. Tek ambar analizinin yetersiz kalmasının en önemli nedeni; geminin ambar ağzı açıklıklarının fazla oluşu, bu nedenle de, yükleme durumuna bağlı olarak, ambar ağzı yer değişimlerinin en yüksek değerlerinin ambar ortalarında olmasının beklenmesidir. Sınır koşullarının maksimum yer değişmelerin olduğu bölgelere uygulanması sağlıklı bir analiz yapılabilmesi açısından sakıncalıdır. Bu durumda sonlu elemanlar analizi için bir prosedür önerilmiş ve bu önerilen prosedür doğrultusunda analizler yapılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerin neticesinde ambar ağızlarında oluşan yer değiştirmeler bulunmuştur. Ayrıca gemi üzerindeki belirli noktalarda bulunan gerilme değerleri de sonuç kısmında belirtilmiştir., Main aim of this work is to offer a FEM analysis procedure for small ,which are less than 170m in length, ships by means of strength, and analysing the 9100 DWT multi purpose ship with conventional finite element package programme. The ship which we analysed has large deck opening with two cargo hold and its length is less than 170m. Therefore we can not use the direct strength assessment method based on three cargo hold model. Because of the ship has large deck openings, it is expected that the maximum deflection of the hatchway coamings occur at the middle of the hatches. In one cargo hold model, the ships are modelled from the middle of the one cargo hold to the middle of the adjacent cargo hold, including the bulkhead. The boundary conditions are applied to the end of the model as well. Applying boundary condition to the place where the maximum displacement occurs, is not right way for this kind of analysis. For this reason a new procedure was developed. In this situation we offered an analysis procedure and tried to carry out structural analyses of a 9100 DWT multi purpose ship based on this procedure with conventional finite element package programme. Geliştirilen yazılım, uluslararası kurallar dahilinde gerekli kriterleri sağlayacak şekilde ele alınmış ve uygunluğuna bağlı olarak uluslararası sularda geçerliliğini ispatlamıştır. Sonuçlarına bakıldığında, böyle bir çalışmanın gerekliliği, gemilere sağladığı hızlı, doğru ve emniyetli çözümler açısından önemi gözlenmiştir., In this study it is prepared a software which is used to evaluate ship stability and longitudinal strenght includes bending moment and shear forces that are also limited knowledge for masters and operators, loading and unloading operation which is one of the important function for ship life. Simple box beam type gives great advantage to take ship model throughtout ship lenght to see longitudinal variation and also to calculate ship longitudinal strenght. Developed software is helded to comply international rules and it is also provided validity in international voyages within its suitability. Analiz iki aşamada yapılmıştır. Birinci aşamada sabit hızla hareket eden Goldak çift elipsoid ısı kaynağının yapı üzerinde oluşturduğu sıcaklık dağılımı, zaman alanında, metalürjik dönüşümlerle birbirine bağlı olarak ve sıcaklıkla değişen malzeme özellikleri için hesaplanmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise zamana bağlı termal analizden elde edilen ısıl yükler, yine zamana bağlı, nonlineer elostoplastik analizde kullanılmıştır. Elostoplastik analizde izotropik pekleşme modeli kullanılmıştır. Hesaplanan deformasyon değerleri, literatürdeki deneysel sonuçlarla karşılaştırıldığında, T bağlantı kaynağından dolayı yapıda oluşan ve dominant deformasyon olan, düşey yerdeğiştirme için çok yakın sonuçlar bulunmuştur., In this study, the mechanism creating deformations and residual stresses because of welding is investigated in ship production. Residual stresses and deformations created by T-Joint welding in the structure are calculated by using commercial finite element software Sysweld. A three dimensional welding analysis for a T-Joint is performed in two steps. In the first step, the temperature distribution created by moving Goldak double ellipsoid heat sources is calculated within the structure in time domain. In calculations, it is assumed that the temperatures are coupled with the metallurgical transformations and that the material properties changes with temperature. In the second step, the loads obtained from the thermal analysis are used in the time domain nonlinear elasto-plastic analysis. The isotropic strain hardening model is used in the analysis. The calculated deformations are compared with experimental results found in the literature. The experimental results for the dominant deformation, vertical displacement, are in very good agreement with the calculated results., Yüksek Lisans, M.Sc.
