The research aims to explore how PhD students interacted with professors and peers and transferred knowledge during pandemic time. We firstly aim to provide an overview of communication media used by students, as well as to classify them for different kinds, social presence, and media richness. Furthermore, our research also aims to explore how doctoral students took their courses by interacting with professors and with peers, in terms of learning (KT) and social exchange relations (LMX, TMX, POS), through online learning platforms and communication media. We conducted exploratory research on 25 PhD students from 5 Italian PhD Programs in ‘economic and statistical sciences’ area. Data was collected through (a) the focus group interview with PhD students for collecting their opinions and experiences on the usage of media for communicating with professors and peers and (b) an online questionnaire aimed to measure their experiences or perceptions on technology usage and social relations. Results shown that PhD students used e-learning platform for communicating with peers and professors, so developing good social relations -even at a distance- which have encouraged knowledge transfer among them.

Global warming represents a "hot" topic in our current daily life. This paper builds up and simulates a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model in the spirit of Nordhaus (2008) while investigating consumers' behavior in a context where economic and environmental issues interact. The paper suggests that households do not care about global warming as much as they should. Even if households make pro-environmental consumption choices, their investment decisions focus on the economic aspect mainly. Therefore, households' propensity to consume clean products is not sufficient to produce benefits to the environment.

Rapid review on psychological consequences of epidemics on health care workers: risk factors, prevalence of psychiatric disorders, and strategies for its treatment. We aim to identify and synthesize the available evidence on: 1) Risk factors for psychological distress, and identification of prevalence of psychiatric diagnosis during epidemics in health care workers (HCW). We will include all evidence of mental disorders in HCW, as a consequence of SARS, MERS, and COVID-19, and the related predisposing risk factors; 2) Strategies for the prevention and treatment of psychological distress in HCW during epidemics. We will include all evidence on strategies aimed at preventing or reducing the consequences of epidemic on psychological wellbeing in HCW, which have been adopted during and after past or current epidemics.

This paper simulates a macroprudential policy of reduction in capital requirements, in line with the measures promoted by macroprudential authorities to face the effects of the recent pandemic crisis on real economy. We do that in an otherwise standard DSGE model augmented with a housing sector and a macroprudential regulator. Results show that a regulatory intervention aiming at reducing capital requirements entails a deep and prolonged recession, worsening financial and macroeconomic stability. Overall, it follows that the effects could be opposite to those desired. Two channels lead to this outcome: the financial channel of interest rates on deposits and loans, and the real estate channel of housing prices.

Although the clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR) paradigm has become well-established over the past two decades, one key component has received surprisingly little investigative attention: the predictive validity of the criteria for conversion or transition to frank psychosis. The current study evaluates the predictive validity of the transition to psychosis as measured by the Structured Interview for Psychosis-Risk Syndromes (SIPS) in CHR individuals. Participants included 33 SIPS converters and 399 CHR non-converters both from the North American Prodromal Longitudinal Study (NAPLS-2), as well as a sample of 67 separately ascertained first-episode psychosis (FEP) patients from the STEP program. Comparisons were made at baseline and one-year follow-up on demographic, diagnostic stability (SCID), and available measurement domains relating to severity of illness (psychotropic medication, psychosocial treatment, and resource utilization). Principal findings are: 1) a large majority of cases in both SIPS converters (n=27/33, 81.8%) and FEP (n=57/67, 85.1%) samples met criteria for continued psychosis at one-year follow-up; 2) follow-up prescription rates for current antipsychotic medication were higher in SIPS converters (n=17/32, 53.1%) compared to SIPS non-converters (n=81/397, 20.4%), and similar as compared to FEP cases (n=39/65, 60%); and 3) at follow-up, SIPS converters had higher rates of resource utilization (psychiatric hospitalizations, day hospital admissions, and ER visits) than SIPS non-converters and were similar to FEP in most categories. The results suggest that the SIPS definition of psychosis onset carries substantial predictive validity. Limitations and future directions are discussed.

Background: HPV is the most common sexually transmitted disease in many regions of the world. 15% was found in women aged 15-19 years but the highest incidence of infection from HPV can be found in sexually active adolescents: between 50% and 80% of them catch the infection within two to three years from their first sexual relationship. Methods: A community randomized trial regarding HPV infection and HPV vaccination, and sexual health was carried out, in a sample of secondary school students. Peer education intervention was carried out and 2 follows-up were carried out after the educative intervention to evaluate the effective outcomes in a 1-year follow up of the effect of peer health education on primary prevention knowledge, attitude and behaviour towards HPV. Results: The sample of 900 students, with age of 16.6 ± 1.4 ds, 34.4% of which have sexual relationships. 64.6% of students in the experimental group said that they were aware of HPV, 83.4% were aware of how it is transmitted and 71.1% knew HPV vaccination, 54.7% perceived the level of danger with significant gender-related differences the percentages increased at T1. At T0, 14.1% of females were vaccinated: T1 they were 17.5% and 19.2% at T2. The main factors associated with the students’ propensity to vaccination were: having at least one sister; being in favor of vaccinations in general; knowing that the vaccine is aimed at preventing cervical cancer; and being aware that they could be infected by HPV. Conclusions: The study carried out highlights important differences between the experimental group and the control group in terms of knowledge but, most importantly, in terms of behaviour and it proves how the application of new educational methods based on the involvement of youngsters right from the initial stages of the project can help them to change their behaviour and maintain it in time.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the presence of occult HCV infection in two settings of patients experiencing immunosuppression: patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and those with onco-haematological disease. Sixty consecutive HIV-positive/anti-HCV-negative/HCV RNA-negative patients (HIV group) and 32 consecutive anti-HCV/HCV RNA negative patients with an onco-haematological disease first undergoing chemotherapy (Onco-haematological group) were enrolled. HCV-RNA was sought by real time RT-PCR in plasma and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell (PBMC) samples obtained at enrolment and during follow-up, in the patients in the HIV group every three months and in those in the onco-haematological group at months 1 and 3 during chemotherapy and then every three months after treatment discontinuation. No plasma or PBMC sample collected at enrolment and during the follow-up in the HIV and onco-haematological groups was HCV RNA positive. The results of this study rule out the existence of occult HCV infection in patients with strong immunosuppression due to different conditions, HIV infection and onco-haematological diseases.

Le relazioni di lavoro si caratterizzano per una crescente incertezza derivante dalla crisi economica e dalla conseguente crisi occupazionale. L’incertezza nelle relazioni di lavoro tende ad assumere la forma della job insecu- rity che, come sostenuto nella letteratura orga- nizzativa, esercita una significativa influenza sugli atteggiamenti degli individui sul lavoro. Nonostante le numerose ricerche sul tema, emergono risultati empirici contrastanti con riguardo al tema della job insecurity e delle reazioni psicologiche indotte sui lavoratori stabili e su quelli flessibili. In questa ricerca sviluppiamo un modello che integra la letteratura esistente sul tema della job insecurity e del lavoro flessibile con la prospettiva teorica del contratto psicologico. Si ipotizza, infatti, che la relazione negativa tra job insecurity e commitment affettivo possa es- sere mediata dalla percezione di adempimento del contratto psicologico. Inoltre, argomentando sui tratti distintivi del contratto psicologico relazionale ed il contratto psicologico transa- zionale, ipotizziamo che significative diffe- renze possono affermarsi tra lavoratori stabili e lavoratori flessibili con riguardo alla natura ed all’intensità della reazione psicologica in- dotta dalla job insecurity. È stata condotta un’indagine di tipo quantitativo presso un’azienda campana che opera nel settore alimentare. I risultati evidenziano che la job insecurity ha un effetto negativo sul commitment affettivo che è pienamente mediato dalla percezione di adempimento del contratto psicologico e che la reazione psicologica nei confronti della percezione di insicurezza sul lavoro risulta più accentuata per i lavoratori stabili rispetto ai lavoratori flessibili.

Male reproductive health in both humans and animals is an important research field in biological study. In order to characterize the morphology, the motility and the concentration of the sperm cells, which are the most important parameters to feature them, digital holography demonstrated to be an attractive technique. Indeed, it is a labelfree, non-invasive and high-resolution method that enables the characterization of live specimen. The review is intended both for summarize the state-of-art on the semen analysis and recent achievement obtained by means of digital holography and for exploring new possible applications of digital holography in this field.

This study evaluated the indoor air quality of 26 classrooms of secondary schools in the city of Cassino (Italy). Two types of school buildings were assessed: buildings specifically designed as schools, and former dwellings converted to schools. Measurements were taken in both winter and spring months, before students entered the classrooms and while the classrooms were occupied. Lower thermal comfort levels were observed during the winter months; in fact, during the winter, ideal temperature, humidity and air speed parameters were found in only a small percentage of classrooms and students were found to experience thermal discomfort as a result. Air velocity was often found to be inadequate both in winter and spring months and in both types of school buildings evaluated. Illumination levels measured during the winter months with both natural daylight and mixed illumination, were found to be below 200 lux, the minimum recommended level recommended by the ministerial decree 18.12.1975. Noise levels above the maximum level recommended by the ministerial decree 01.03.1991 were also frequently observed. The symptoms most frequently reported by students were headache, difficulties in concentrating, cough, and unusual tiredness. The various discomfort situations observed in both types of school buildings point toward a need for greater attention toward indoor air quality of schools as this can have affect students' attention, concentration, productivity and comfort.

la redazione della tesi vuole offrire una riflessione sul trattamento delle architetture allo stato di rudere, ripercorrendo le fasi del dibattito sul restauro archeologico e analizzando gli interventi di anastilosi e reintegrazione realizzati in Sicilia tra la fine del Settecento e la seconda metà del Novecento. Il restauro dei monumenti in Sicilia inizia il suo cammino il 1 agosto 1778, con la nomina dei due Regi Custodi, il principe di Biscari, Ignazio Paternò Castello e il principe di Torremuzza, Gabriele Lancillotto Castelli. Il territorio siciliano è diviso in due parti: quello occidentale, identificabile con i territori di Palermo e di Agrigento e quello orientale identificabile con i territori di Catania, Siracusa e Messina. I due principi, considerati tra le più illustri figure della cultura letteraria siciliana del tempo, sono chiamati a redigere i due Plani delle antichità delle due Valli, ovvero a catalogare tutti gli edifici classici esistenti nell’isola, indicando le eventuali proposte per la loro conservazione. I due Plani, nel dibattito sul restauro archeologico tra Settecento e Ottocento, si impongono per l’attualità delle argomentazioni e per la modernità dell’approccio metodologico al manufatto antico: la conoscenza è da perseguire mediante l’esecuzione di ricerche archeologiche, la predisposizione di rilievi e la realizzazione di restauri nei casi in cui essi siano realmente necessari e indispensabili. I primi interventi di restauro nei monumenti archeologici della Sicilia, sono svolti in maniera empirica ed assoggettati alla sola sensibilità e cultura degli operatori. La totale mancanza di concrete esperienze e di trattazioni specifiche sull’argomento e il diffondersi tra gli intellettuali siciliani, della consapevolezza di essere depositari di una cultura che poteva vantare l’illustre contributo dei greci, favorisce un’intensa attività sperimentale nei monumenti antichi, dettata soprattutto dal desiderio di incrementare la notorietà della Sicilia e di accrescere la visibilità della storia, riproponendo il monumento in tutta la sua grandezza ed interezza originaria. Un desiderio che conduce a compromettere l’autenticità del monumento attraverso reintegrazioni e sostituzioni delle parti eccessivamente degradate e interventi di liberazione dalle stratificazioni ritenute inconciliabili con la purezza stilistica del “modello”. Con il XIX secolo la disciplina archeologica diventa più metodica nell’attività di scavo, più rigorosa nella documentazione grafica, più precisa nell’interpretazione dei dati. La cultura del Tour contribuisce a diffondere un’idea di rudere superiore in bellezza al monumento ricostruito e le «ruine» diventano delle opere d’arte incompiute; esse sono già di per sé «parlanti» e non necessitano di interventi di ricomposizione. Con la conferenza di Atene, lo “spettacolo sublime” della dissoluzione delle architetture, è sostituito dal desiderio di ritorno all’”archetipo perduto” e dalla reintegrazione della “forma primitiva” del monumento: l’intervento di anastilosi non aumenta il valore archeologico del rudere ma la ricomposizione dei frammenti originari, andati dispersi, ne aumenta il valore estetico e la comprensione. Nell’intervento di anastilosi è vista una «finalità didattica» volta ad una maggiore fruizione dell’opera che, completata nelle sue parti mancanti, rende il reperto archeologico comprensibile in senso architettonico, da tutti i segmenti di pubblico a cui esso è rivolto. Il calcestruzzo di cemento, «il materiale moderno» che trova largo impiego nelle reintegrazioni dei primi dei primi interventi del Novecento, grazie alla maggiore facilità di lavorazione e alla sua resa formale inconfondibile con gli antichi materiali, in breve tempo è sostituito da conglomerati di cemento e graniglia dello stesso materiale del monumento, per dissimularne l’aspetto che è considerato «stridente e offensivo anche dal punto di vista cromatico». L’approccio scientifico della ricerca archeologica cede così alle lusinghe della seducente immagine compiuta del monumento che privilegia la rappresentazione fisica della classicità, fruibile esteticamente, sino al rischio della pura invenzione scenografica.

The aim of the paper is to provide a large extension of the recent results of de Giovanni and Ialenti (Commun Algebra 44:118–124, 2016), strengthening at the same time their conclusions. Our second main theorem is actually a complete generalization of a result obtained in the finite case by Beidleman and Heineken (Arch Math (Basel) 85:18–30, 2005) to periodic linear groups.
