In this paper, we introduce and study a new extension of Lomax distribution with four-parameter named as the Marshall–Olkin alpha power Lomax (MOAPL) distribution. Some statistical properties of this distribution are discussed. Maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), maximum product spacing (MPS) and least Square (LS) method for the MOAPL distribution parameters are discussed. A numerical study using real data analysis and Monte-Carlo simulation are performed to compare between different methods of estimation. Superiority of the new model over some well-known distributions are illustrated by physics and economics real data sets. The MOAPL model can produce better fits than some well-known distributions as Marshall–Olkin Lomax, alpha power Lomax, Lomax distribution, Marshall–Olkin alpha power exponential, Kumaraswamy-generalized Lomax, exponentiated Lomax and power Lomax.

This paper is concerned with the estimation of the Weibull generalized exponential distribution (WGED) parameters based on the adaptive Type-II progressive (ATIIP) censored sample. Maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), maximum product spacing (MPS), and Bayesian estimation based on Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods have been determined to find the best estimation method. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the three methods of estimation based on the ATIIP-censored sample, and also, we made a bootstrap confidence interval estimation. We will analyze data related to the distribution about single carbon fiber and electrical data as real data cases to show how the schemes work in practice.

This paper discussed robust estimation for point estimation of the shape and scale parameters for generalized exponential (GE) distribution using a complete dataset in the presence of various percentages of outliers. In the case of outliers, it is known that classical methods such as maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), least square (LS) and maximum product spacing (MPS) in case of outliers cannot reach the best estimator. To confirm this fact, these classical methods were applied to the data of this study and compared with non-classical estimation methods. The non-classical (Robust) methods such as least absolute deviations (LAD), and M-estimation (using M. Huber (MH) weight and M. Bisquare (MB) weight) had been introduced to obtain the best estimation method for the parameters of the GE distribution. The comparison was done numerically by using the Monte Carlo simulation study. The two real datasets application confirmed that the M-estimation method is very much suitable for estimating the GE parameters. We concluded that the M-estimation method using Huber object function is a suitable estimation method in estimating the parameters of the GE distribution for a complete dataset in the presence of various percentages of outliers.

The adaptive type-II progressive censoring schemes of maximum product spacing will be discussed. This article discusses the estimation of the Weibull parameters using the maximum product spacing and the maximum likelihood estimation methods. We also discuss the construction of reliability estimation of adaptive type-II progressively censored reliability sampling schemes for the Weibull distribution to determine the optimal adaptive type-II progressive censoring schemes. The estimation is done under adaptive type-II progressive censored samples and a comparative study among the methods is made using Monte Carlo simulation. A real data is used to study the performance of the estimation process under this optimal scheme in practice.

In this paper we consider the estimation of the Weibull Generalized Exponential Distribution (WGED) Parameters with Progressive Censoring Schemes. In order to obtain the optimal censoring scheme for WGED, more than one method of estimation was used to reach a better scheme with the best method of estimation. The maximum likelihood method and the method of Bayesian estimation for (square error and Linex) loss function have been used. Monte carlo simulation is used for comparison between the two methods of estimation under censoring schemes. To show how the schemes work in practice; we analyze a strength data for single carbon fibers as a case of real data.

This paper aims to model the COVID-19 mortality rates in Italy, Mexico, and the Netherlands, by specifying an optimal statistical model to analyze the mortality rate of COVID-19. A new lifetime distribution with three-parameter is introduced by a combination of Rayleigh distribution and extended odd Weibull family to produce the extended odd Weibull Rayleigh (EOWR) distribution. This new distribution has many excellent properties as simple linear representation, hazard rate function, and moment generating function. Maximum likelihood, maximum product spacing and Bayesian estimation methods are applied to estimate the unknown parameters of EOWR distribution. MCMC method is used for the Bayesian estimation. A numerical result of the Monte Carlo simulation is obtained to assess the use of estimation methods. Also, data analysis for the real data of mortality rate is considered.

In this paper, the question of inference of the reliability parameter of fuzzy stress strength ${R_F} = P(Y < X)$ is attached to the difference between stress and strength values when X and Y are independently distributed from inverse Rayleigh random variables. Including fuzziness in the stress-strength interference enables researchers to make more sensitive and precise analyses about the underlying systems. The maximum product of the spacing method for the reliability of fuzzy stress intensity inference has been introduced. As classical estimation methods and Bayesian estimation methods are used to estimate the reliability parameter $R_F$, the maximum product of spacing and maximum likelihood estimation methods is used. The maximum product of spacing under fuzzy reliability of stress strength model is introducing in this paper. Markov Chain Monte Carlo approach is used to obtain Bayesian estimators of traditional and fuzzy reliability of stress strength for inverse Rayleigh model by using the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. Using an extensive Monte Carlo simulation analysis, the outputs of the fuzzy reliability and traditional reliability estimators are contrasted. Finally, for example, and to verify the efficiency of the proposed estimators, a genuine data application is used.
